Description of the West Jefferson vacation cabin rental

Upscale get-a-way for the entire family. Log home perched at the top of an easily accessible mountain. Offering modern and stylish furniture with sprigs of rustic antiques and colorful accessories throughtout. Private living for all the main level offers offers greatroom with stone fireplace with gas logs, satellite TV, DVD, large floor to ceiling windows with glorious mountain views. Sleeper queen sofa and comfortable swivel club chairs. Fully equiped kitchen with dishwasher, coffemaker and microwave. Two bedrooms downstairs, one queen and one kids room with DVD (no sat in this room) and bunk beds. Full bath downstairs with walk in shower. Upstairs king size retreat with satellite TV (HMDI provided) and DVD. Hot tub, hammock, cornhole and horeshoes available for outside enjoyment. Towels and linens are provided. Will accept credit cards thru Pay Pal.

Area Information

Located 5 miles from West Jefferson and 20 miles from Boone or Blowing Rock. Entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 8 miles.

Beautiful Area

April 1, 2013

Even though the weather did not co-operate, we had a wonderful time in West Jefferson. The house was attractive, clean, very well stocked and had beautiful views. The road up to the Nut House was not the straightest, flattest or smoothest we had ever driven; but as long as you drive slow, no troubles. There had been heavy rains a few weeks prior which I know did not help much. If you want to get away from the city, this would be a great choice.

Amazing Place!

This place is beautiful, inside and out. It is a short distance from lots of fun places, too. I took my daughter for her 13th birthday with a few of her friends and we all had a blast. However, beware of the drive up the mountain. It is the second to the last house at the top and a 4 wheel drive vehicle would be ideal for the trek. I have a 4 cylinder, front wheel drive and it made it ok but that's because the ground was dry. Had it have rained, I would have been stranded. It was well worth the drive though. :)

Wonderful experience

The house proved to have everything we wanted: solitude, lovely views, very nice furniture, and all amenities such as the hot tub and electronics 100% functional. We also had a resident pair of wild turkeys. We enjoyed the fire cicle on the deck each night too. My wife found the hairpin turns and erosion bumps unnerving for our Honda van, so I drove. I thought it added to the adventure..... We would stay again.

October Vacation

All arrangements prior to our arrival were professional and most satisfying. We arrived on Friday and found lodging which far exceeded our expectations. Pictures on the web site do not do justice to the fine interior and décor. We settled in and tried out the hot tub. What a way to start - wine, cheese and crackers in a beautiful surrounding. We spent 4 wonderful weeks in this upscale property, never wanting for anything. It's perfect location and serenity was the cornerstone of our stay. The location makes it a perfect place to enjoy what is offered in the area - Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, vineyards, the Parkway and the wonderful hiking trails all across the tri-county area. We felt at home in West Jefferson with its quaint downtown, friendly locals and a helpful tourist office. This house is highly recommended for any size group. We look forward to another visit in 2013. Thank you Vicki for allowing us to stay.

Romantic and Comfy!

We lovvvvvvved this Cabin! I rented the Nut House for a surprise birthday getaway with my boyfriend and his brother and sister in law. Let's just say the pictures do not do it justice! It is perched on top of a mountain in the woods and there is an amazing view from the back of the house. There are other cabins in the area however, we were on a private acre surrounded by full trees and had complete privacy. The entire house is fully stacked with everything you would need for a vacation including towels and linen and cooking supplies. The hot tub was amazing and the fireplace easily lit. The dual level allows for private living for couples, yet the entire cabin has such a romantic and comfortable feel that we felt right at home. Everything was very clean and well kept. Vickie (the property owner) was amazing. She was easy to contact and assisted us with finding the cabin upon arrival. She returned our deposit promptly and answered all of our questions in a timely and efficient manner. The drive up to the cabin was a little rocky at first but soon became a breeze and was well worth the surprise at the top! There is a Walmart 4 miles from the cabin (in town) and you can buy groceries and any other necessities. Also it less than 30 minutes from the attractions in Blowing Rock and Boone! I would recommend this cabin for couples, friends, a family with children, or anyone just wanting a peaceful, beautiful getaway!

Great Place

Hi. This cabin is just how she describes it, very upscale, Loved the open floor plan. We will be staying here again. However, the this cabin is on top of a mountain, in the winter months you would have to have an SUV. The drive is well maintained, but our Sonata drug a few times going in. There is lots of parking. There is a fire ring on back porch so don't forget your mountain pie irons. They also have a home made ice cream maker. We made strawberry. This cabin is handi cap accessible, there are high toilets, and one level bed, bath, kitchen, dining. From outside there are 2 steps so you might need a small ramp. Lots of games, movies, books... Bring your games for the game system. We were very pleased, and it was a great over all experience.
