Look north past Ocean Shores at the mighty Olympic Mountains or just gaze at the spectacular sunsets over the ocean. Our property is only a 5 minute walk from Washington's Tallest Lighthouse (Grays Harbor Light). Take a tour and climb to the top! We are also on the beach, which is perfect for sunset walks or surf lessons! Kids love the beach & you'll love that our beaches are not open to traffic, so the kids can roam and enjoy the nature and wildlife. Speaking of wildlife, the ocean in front of our property is part of the Gray Whale migration path... sit on your balcony and watch the Whales go by in May and October!
Area Information
Take a surfing lesson (we can help you arrange that, as well as board and wetsuit rentals), try a deep-sea fishing charter trip, birdwatch, whale watch, go clam digging or crabbing - all your favorite beach activities. Looking for something more low-key? You can fly a kite or simply look for treasures.
Just off property is the head of the Westport Light State Park trail, a 2.5 mile flat concrete path along the dunes, which stretches from our condos to the Marina district. A beautiful walk, and wheelchair/stroller accessible!
Visit downtown Westport for great dining at Half Moon Bay Bar & Grill and plenty of shopping. For those who just want to kick back and take in the sights, our sunsets are not to be missed. Vacations by the Sea offers you the ideal beach escape!

Short but sweet

A last minute overnight trip to the beach with the fur-kids in tow. The staff was very gracious and accommodating and the unit was clean, bright with an incredible view. I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone with dogs that love the beach. And are there any that don't?

Relaxing and Enjoyable Stay in VBS 1032
August 28, 2012
My sister and I stayed in unit 1032 during the weekend of Aug. 24th and had a lovely visit in our condo and around Westport. Our unit was immaculate with all of the amenities as advertised. We enjoyed our wine while we watched the sunset from the comfort of our living room, swam in the heated (saline) pool, rode bikes around town that we rented from VBS, visited the Westport winery for a free tasting (compliments of VBS), and had excellent bacon-wrapped prawns, Shorebird chardonnay, and too many homemade deserts to count (they make awesome cakes, cupcakes, and cookies). On another night, we visited the Halfmoon Bay and had the incredible Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna (it's the best item on the menu if you like super fresh tuna and great fusion flavors). There's not much of a nightlife in Westport (which suited our needs--sleepy fishing village with incredible views of the Pacific and family and friends to enjoy it with). The reviewers who said that this would be (or is) a great vacation for either families/family reunions or any person/couple in search of tranquility and relaxation has found the right place in VBS and Westport. The town itself reminds me a little bit of Astoria, Oregon, a coastal town on the northern Oregon coast. Astoria can look a little "forgotten" (though I do like this town), but Westport seems to have just enough life in it where it feels peaceful without feeling abandoned. Other things to consider if/when planning a VBS visit to Westport, we were fortunate that the weather was sunny until the day we left. The weather is always at least 10 degrees cooler on the coast, so bring some warmer clothes even in the summer as it gets very chilly at night. Renting bikes in advance is generally advisable since there are only a limited number...same goes for dinner reservations at the winery if you plan to go. Lastly, do check out the condo units on the VBS website; ours looked even nicer in person which was a treat. The only caveat to this relaxing experience is for the light sleepers out there--the whistle in the distance (practically inaudible during the day) could irk you while you're trying to sleep without a fan or ear plugs. I slept with the latter and was fine. Hope this helps!

I stayed at the vacations by the sea condos in Westport and our condo was amazing. The view was priceless. Even for this time of year we were close to the water, the view was absolutely amazing and the condo's decor was beautiful.
