Harbor Chalet Waterfront Home

The Harbor Chalet has become one of the most popular luxury vacation homes on Whidbey in a very short time, and a true superstar of the Whidbey Retreat 's (WR) family of luxury homes.



The reasons for its success are simple: it was built from the ground up to take advantage of spectacular waterfront views, has a wow factor 'luxury chalet design ideal for entertaining, has more baths per bedroom, shares the beach below with the Beach Hideaway, and has unbelievable furnishings with some truly top of the line limited-edition pieces.



And, it 's just a fun layout.



The property has five bedrooms and three full baths, with two of the bedrooms having private vanities with sink. The master bedroom is huge, with large closets, dramatic private bath with slate tiled tub and shower, and beautiful lighting. The furniture is limited edition Ralph Lauren Polo type pieces, with wonderful accent art work.



The upstairs bedrooms feature hand made, custom, lodge pole country motif beds and accessories. They share a full bath between them.



The other bedrooms are on the main and lower levels of the home, the first with a very private cottage feel queen bed and vanity. The last bedroom also has a private vanity and like some of the other bedrooms in WR properties, hides the washer and dryer, but also has the added benefit of a private entrance, in case someone wants to close down the BeachFire Grill at the Golf Club nearby and not wake anyone up!



The kitchen is part of a great room set up that is spectacular. This is a case where the pictures don 't lie! It features beautiful old oak cabinets (the expensive kind) with custom slate floor and countertops. Because the house was built with serious entertaining in mind, the kitchen layout is exemplary in terms of built-ins, pantry and accessories that a true gourmet cook will like; including oversize refrigerator, gas range, and dishwasher - all stainless steel of course. Like all WR properties, it is complete, with high-end cutlery,cookware, and serving ware.



Accenting the kitchen is gorgeous lighting over the eating bar area, which is adjacent to the European style square family dining table �guests love it as it is below a beamed vaulted ceiling that really shows off the spectacular dining chandelier (take a look). The eating area, which is part of the great room, leads through French-style doors to a huge deck perched over the water with a beautiful dining table, chairs and occasional chairs for sunning. Of course, there is a professional BBQ for your convenience.



The centerpiece of the great room is a real wood burning stone fireplace that extends up the vaulted ceiling two stories! No wonder we call it the Chalet. It features some amazing lamps gathered from around the world, a classic Stickley Furniture set, all arranged around a huge flat screen custom entertainment system with full theater surround.



The two story open entry carries the same drama as the fireplace where we have featured some wonderful, chalet style home chandeliers. The same feeling goes intothe lower level which leads into a warm, rich family room with it 's own media center and pool table. From this room, you can step to a private deck, which has a covered hot tub overlooking the water and adjacent lawn.



As with all WR properties, there is a library of books (take one/leave one), wonderful amenities and antiques, as well as truly beautiful original art hung throughout. And, there is some real whimsy in the old Railroad Station clock hanging in the great room, as well as in the upstairs chandeliers and fan/light sets.



As an added attraction this year, we are adding a Garden Club Cottage custom built for us that is an adjacent play/bunk house for the kids or anyone who is looking for added adventure.
