Eight miles from the Whiteface Mountain ski center, on a quiet mountain road in Ausable Acres, BirchWood Ski Chalet is a newly built, gorgeous Adirondack family cabin, with three bedrooms, two full baths, and an open, roomy kitchen-dining area, with all appliances, including dishwasher and washer-dryer. Elegant and rustic, BirchWood features all wood interiors, a wrap-around elevated porch, a switch-on-switch-off, clean and hassle-free stone fireplace, 36" Satellite TV entertainment center in living room, TV/DVD/VHS in master bedroom, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, heated tile floors in kitchen and master bath, and a lovely, landscaped yard for taking in the hummingbirds and shifting Adirondack seasons outdoors. Linens, cooking and eating utensils make BirchWood Ski Chalet a private and relaxing home away from home. You can walk to Lake Eaton, and the cross-country/snowshoeing/hiking trails of Ausable Acres. great spot

This please was really nice and exactly as advertised. Lots of space, close to nature and the sauna was fantastic after a day on the mountain. Directions were fantastic as were Dana's tips on where to eat. Large kitchen and space for our group to hand out together. My only issue was that we were never given our refund back and despite numerous efforts to contact Dana to find out why, she never responded to us. Given the final price it wasn't that big of a deal, but if you don't plan on returning the deposit, don't ask for one in the first place!

Close to the nature

The place is really nice. The house is confortable and the kitchen is well oganised.The woods are all around. Each morning, we had a familly of dears, that we could see from the kitchen. We saw a wolf crossing the road not so far from the house. It is closed to the Whiteface Mountain ski resort, so it make a good place for a ski trip. The problem that we had was the communication with the owner. We had difficulties to get in touch with her, to know how to get the keys. The 2 phone numbers on the aggement rental was useless. Besides, the internet in the chalet was not working so if we had to contact her for a problem over there, it would have been difficult. We are trying to get in touch to be refund for the deposit. No news yet. But the chalet is worthed.

Breathtaking!

Our group of 10 were absolutely awed by this ski chalet. It was the most beautiful vacation home any of us had been in. The location was perfect being far enough from other people to have that peace and sanctity feeling of the Adirondaks, but close enough to things like white-face mtn activities and Lake Placid to enjoy a busy day in town! We had an absolute blast! Definitely will come back.

We have an amazing time at this beautiful chalet. Dana was very easy to work with and extremely professional. The Chalet was fantastic from the wood burning fire place to the fantastic bbq. We would definetely stay here again. A hottub would a fantastic addition to the chalet :) Thanks Dana
