Whitefield is also centrally located to many northern New Hampshire attractions and sights, including Santa's Village, Story Land, Clark's Trading Post, Six Gun City, The Flume, Lost River, Whale's Tale Water Park and the Mount Washington Auto Road.

The cottage was recently renovated with new paint, refinished floors, furniture and appliances. Bright and colorful this is the most extraordinary rental cottage around.

Kitchen is fully equipped and seats two; there's also a furnished, screened-in front porch and a large fire pit in the yard. Cable, DVD, VCR, books, and board games.

A Wonderful Place to Stay, March 3, 2010
By Jaime (New Haven, CT)
We went to the cabin for New Year's week! It is located in the middle of our favorite places to hike, so it was pretty convenient. Also, it has everything you may need utensil wise in a kitchen. The house is great! We LOVED the faux-wood stove! There were 4 adults and it was definately do-able with the size of the cabin. They have also left a lot of helpful information about the area inside. All in all, we have only great things to say about our experience! Thanks!!

Beautiful Lake and Mountain Views, August 10, 2009
By Ellen and Bob Waldeck (Lancaster, PA USA)
We(2 60-somethings) stayed for 2 weeks in this cute little cottage. It was very well equipped with lots of extras. Swimming almost every day was the best part, and the view was great! The neighbors were fun and friendly, good restaurants nearby, and always lovely scenery for a drive. The couches (especially the futon) were not the most comfortable, but pretty typical for these kinds of rentals. The owners were very informative and pleasant. All-in-all, a very good experience.

Summer base camp, July 27, 2009
By Barbara Hogan (Lowell, Ma)
We had a great time hitting the national parks in Franconia, Santa's Village and Six Gun City. The area is tranquil, the cottage clean with everything you need. I enjoyed reading the comments from previous guests. Our dog claimed the screened in porch as her personal vacation spot. Everything was exactly as it was promoted to be. The neighbors in the other cabins are friendly and helpful. The fireplace was awesome on chilly mornings. Thanks for a great spot. Two adults, two kids and the dog felt right at home.

so fun and cute!, July 15, 2009
By Jen (Natick MA)
I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband, our 9 month old baby, and our big ole labby. We found it a bit cramped at times (our baby is just learning to crawl, and our dog is always at your heel!), but for what it is- an escape from our everyday stress- it is great! The details of the cottage cannot be beat- they have everything you could possibly need. Robert and Kimberly leave little notes of info for you around the cottage to make you feel right at home, and they'll send you a guide to the area before you stay too, which helped us immensely. Whitefield is a small town, but located near many attractions- we drove up Mt Wash one day, and found lots of cute places to dine at while we were there too! The canoe is great, and the house looks RIGHT out onto the lake: so so peaceful! We watched two t-storms from the screened in porch too! Our dog loved the lake. Our baby loved their packnplay! We loved the views and the peace! Thanks Robert!

 Cozy Cottage, October 20, 2008
By Rachel Elliott (Providence, RI USA)
We loved this cottage! We felt like we were living in a doll's house - everything was perfectly sized to fit the cozy space. We had a wonderful time in the canoe, and we enjoyed sitting in the big yard to enjoy the scenery. Everything we needed was there waiting for us! The kids were particularly thrilled to have a yahtzee tournament. All in all a great family time. We will definitely go back.

Perfect Little Getaway!!!!!, October 9, 2008
By Megan F (Wakefield, R.I)
My boyfriend and I went just for the weekend, and we both loved it. The cabin way great!! Soooo cute, with everything you need. (Coffee maker, clean sheets and blankets, LOTS of clean towels) The whole place was very clean. The people around town were VERY nice, and the info that the owners send you is very helpfull. The lake is right in your backyard, and very gorgous to see. If your stressed out and sick of your work and your town, this is THE PERFECT place for you. Spend a week or a weekend in the country. Great sights in the cute little town. I' am already planning on coming back, hopefully for a week next time. Great price's. Great food. Great area. GREAT EVERTHING!! But dont just take my word for it, read all the other reviews that I read before I decided to go. Trust me, you will not regret it.:]

 FOND MEMORIES, July 20, 2008
By Jenn (Bedford, NH)
From the moment we opened the door to the moment we left, we loved every minute we spent in this beautifully decorated, cozy and quaint cottage. This place has everything and is perfect for a family getaway. Having spent many summer vacations at Newfound Lake growing up, Mirror Lake and the group of cottages here are a hidden gem. It is peaceful and at the same time has a sense of community. We enjoyed fishing with the kids in the evenings, watching the kids faces and hearing them shriek when the bass gave us a fight and the fire pit was a nice touch. The kids LOVED the loft! The best part..being able to take the dog w/ us on vacation. The owner was pleasant throughout the entire process. This is the kind of place your kids will leave having fond memories for years to come.

 Great Getaway!, September 5, 2007
By Amanda (Portland, Maine)
This cottage was so much fun. We had 4 adults, a baby and the dogs. It's small but we fit nicely. Very cozy! It was nice having a fully furnished kitchen with all the little things we would have forgotten to pack. The neighbors were very nice as well. We went hiking up a couple of the local mountains.

Great family vacation spot!, June 26, 2007
By Fae and Joe D'Entremont (Newton, MA)
We had such a great time in this welcoming cottage. The lake is beautiful, and it faces west so we watched the sunset every night. The area is a great place for families, so our one-and-a-half year old had a great time at some of the local attractions. But, the place was so relaxing that we all just had fun doing nothing together! The neighbors are so friendly. We made fires in the common fire area, and the kids really enjoyed toasting marshmallows, while the adults enjoyed the fire after the kiddies were in bed. The bed in the “master bedroom” has a view of the lake and the linens the owners provided were very comfortable. It was really the nicest family vacation, and I would recommend the cottage and the area to anyone.

Oberempt from CT., August 14, 2006
By A renter (East Haven, CT USA)
We spent the first week of August at Selma Cottage. It met all our expectations and more. The cottage was quaint and exactly like the photos. The lake lived up to its name "Mirror Lake". It was very clear and reflected both the sky and surrounding scenery. The cottage is centrally located near main attractions, such as the Flume and Lost River which are favorites of ours. I would definitely give this cabin a five star rating.

 Great Place, April 7, 2005
By Yulia (Boston, MA)
We have spent the last week of the year at this cottage. Really loved the place. The cottage is very clean and nicely decorated: a very romantic bedroom on the first floor, the living room is hype and modern, we loved the gas stove and the den above the living room is just superb. The owner had prepared all necessities - clean towels in the bathroom, clean sheets for beds and some extra for our guests, the kitchen was nicely equipped and had extra little things. The cottage is on a beautiful lake - we loved ice skating in the evening under the sky and the Moon. The skiing is within 20 minutes drive. We also took some pottery lessons in town. We all had a wonderful vacation and our dog loved it too.
