Description of the Wicklow vacation cottage rental
Abhainn Ri Self-Catering Cottages are Tourism Ireland (Failte Ireland) approved with the maximum 4* Quality Rating achievable.
All of our holiday cottages are maintained and decorated to the highest standard in a country cottage style suited to our wonderful rural location.
As owners we love to decorate and we have just revamped the cottages for 2009. We value quality and very high standards

One cottage has gained the very high standard of VAS 3 (Validated Accessible Scheme 3) wheelchair approval with Failte Ireland (Irish Tourist Board). This cottage is the only fully approved cottage in County Wicklow and close to Glendalough. This cottage is ideal for a wheelchair user or maybe someone using a walking aid.
This specially adapted cottage has a ramp to entrance, extra wide doorways, lower light fittings, downstairs master bedroom, fully equipped en suite with approved bathroom fixtures and fittings, wet room style shower with wall mounted seat. The sleeping area has approved lateral transfer.
Abhainn Ri is a very special location if you would like to sample country life or simply wish to awake to the relaxing dawn chorus of birds chirping. Located on 100 acres of farm land with lovely leisure walks overlooking the Kings river as it flows into the Blessington lakes.
Wicklow is a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors. It is one of Ireland's best loved areas for hill walkers with magnificent walks available throughout the county.
As Ireland's "Garden County", Wicklow is also know for its wonderful houses & gardens.
Some of the country's most magnificent and best known gardens can be found here, such as Russborough House - only five minutes drive(Blessington), Powerscourt (Enniskerry), Mount Usher (Ashford) and Kilruddery (Bray).
West Wicklow is the most scenic part of Wicklow, with its wonderful mountain ranges and lake drives, just spectacular.
A self catering getaway at Abhainn Ri will offer you the very best in accommodation and facilities. With four identical three bedroom cottages all en suite, it is an ideal base for family and friends or even a small group reunion.
Health and Well-being are guaranteed in this wonderful un-spoilt location. At Abhainn Ri we have our very own water supply of clear sparkling water, it is only the purest taken directly from its natural source. "Ballintober" the Irish place name - is the town with wells.
