Vacation Rental Description

I have reserved two - one week 2BR, 2Bath, Sleep 6 for the week of May 11-18th at Sunterra Powhatan Plantation, which is a 12 to 15 minute drive to Jamestown Settlement, and is the closest , and closer by 10 minutes than any hotel. The 11th, 12th and 13th (Sunday) are the prime time for the 400th Commemoration with most, if not all, the dignitaries showing up on Sunday. It also happens to be the weekend for LPGA at Kingsmill; and Sunday is Mother's Day.

Hotels are running $180 to $275 per night per room. I was asking $2,700 per week each, but will settle for $2,300, with advance reservation of $1,500. $2,300 is equivalent to $164.29 per room in each of the units. For a family of 4 to 6, or two couples, this is a pretty good deal for this time of year and this event!

The cost of the event so far is around $70 million, with many concerts and entertainers, and of course the absolutely fabulous historic museum, not only in the brand new 30,000 square foot gallery of 17th Century life, but also the Colony with the colonial fort, the three ships including the Godspeed, and the Powhatan Indian Village.

P.S. Needless to say, but - each unit has fireplace, is fully furnished, and there is a pool etc., for recreation, and an 18th Century dwelling, now a well known restaurant call The Kitchen at Powhatan Plantation. This property was an old plantation.
