Description of the Williamsburg vacation condo rental
AVR is a southern Maine company foundSed in 2008 by my Grandfather and I as a side project. We decided to use his timeshares to obtain great deals and pass them on to the customers. Now just because our units are obtained by timeshares does not mean a customer will have to sit through any sort of presentation. We are able to trade the timeshares in for points. With these points we can make reservations at any Diamond Resorts owned resort world-wide and get spectacular deals! We do not require any payment up front before the reservation is made unless you are within 60 days of the arrival date. We try to be fair and accommodate to your needs. Two miles from Colonial Williamsburg, The Historic Powhatan Resort also offers a slice of American history with the restored Manor House (circa 1735). Amid 256 rolling woodland acres, The Historic Powhatan Resort offers a variety of fun during any season including cascading indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, an outdoor pavilion and playground, many golf courses, and hiking and exercise trails. Plan the ultimate family holiday with fully equipped, three-bedroom accommodations complete with a private balcony, loft and hot tub.
Take advantage of the on-site restaurant, fitness center, and the indoor and outdoor pools.
Two Bedroom:
Offers a master bedroom with a king sized bed for the downstairs unit or queen sized bed in the upstairs unit, a guest bedroom with two twin beds in the downstairs unit or a queen sized bed in the upstairs unit, two baths, a hot tub in the downstairs unit only, a living area with a full sized sofa bed, cable TV, a fully equipped kitchen, patio, fireplace, and a washer/dryer.
Three Bedroom:
Offers a queen sized bed in the master bedroom and one sleeper sofa in the living room. The second floor bedroom has a queen bed and the lofted third bedroom offers two twin beds. Each accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, hot tub, air conditioning, ceiling fans, two full baths, two cable TV's, voicemail, and a washer/dryer.
Four Bedroom:
Offers (two) two bedroom units connected by a set of stairs. It includes two master bedrooms with a king and a queen sized bed, two guest bedrooms with a two twin beds and one queen sized bed, two living rooms with full sized pull out sofas and cable TV, two fully equipped kitchens, four baths, a hot tub on the lower level, and two washers/dryers.

Stayed for 8 nights. Overall, a very nice place. Rooms are clean. Expected a hot tub in the room (as advertised), but they had been decommissioned in January 2013.

Thanksgiving vacation

Our family of three adults rented a condo over Thanksgiving week and weekend. Our daughter is a grad student at William and Mary and had too much studying to travel to our home in the midwestern US so mom and dad traveled to her. We cooked in most meals and found the kitchen completely adequate. Our daughter did her laundry in the condo saving her trips to the laundry facilities at her Williamsburg residence. There was pleanty of space for her to study and the parents to read and relax. We are fairly altheletic so the grounds of the facility were a great place for runs and walks. we would definitely stay there again when we visit our daughter.

I must say after reading some of the reviews I was a little skeptical about coming here, but everything went fine, the kids enjoyed the resort and so did I, everything was clean and the unit was semi-updated, I didn't really interact with the front desk staff so cannot comment on them, this resort was close to everywhere I wanted to be, I would recommend this resort and come back again

This Powhatan resort was perfect for my family members. We had 3 seperate familes staying in an upstairs unit with washer/dryer, 2 bedrooms, complete kitchen, dining room, and space for our 4 & 5 year olds to play. Our check-in went smoothly and our unit's air condition worked really well. We ate breakfast in every morning and did cook a few times for dinner and having a fully equiped kitchen was a real cost saver and good for us with small kids. This unit was a perfect match for us as I felt very comfortable staying here with children. Being able to wash up everyones' clothes and towels before leaving was a plus. The grounds to this place are beautiful and great for anyone who enjoys photography. We took some beautiful pictures with the old plantation home and grounds.I will book thru this rental agency again and stay at this Powhatan Resort again. Thanks to all for my family having such a memorable relaxing and fun time at Williamsburg, VA.

Our visit to beautiful Williamsburg, VA and our stay at the Powhatan resort was wonderful. Staff were present and polite and efficient even at 11:30 pm. Resort activities were done very well and staff accomadating. I have already reacommended this resort to several people. Definitely well worth the wait. Townhouse was clean and fully stocked with kitchen utensils. Hot tub was a hit with my girl scout troop as they had a 12 person hot tub last year in Pigeon Forge, TN and feel in love with it. We werent' aware that the townhouse would have one. Pool area and hot tub and the movie at the pool was very nice. Staff very nice and helpful.

Overall it was very positive. However, was a little disappointed that only one of the bedrooms had a TV, a small V at that. We were also told that our unit would have a hot tub, but when we checked in we found out that not all units have a hot tub and ours was one of the ones that didn't. This being said, we will return here in the future.

Well located, lots of amenities. Check in at 5:30 pm on a Sat. left a lot to be desired, huge line, not enough staff. Very very eager to have you attend the information session (code for timeshare pitch) You are directed from the check-in to the concierge to get your free gift, and book your information session, you are expected to pay a refundable deposit ( if you attend)to reserve your spot. They even called me twice at home before we left to reserve my "spot" When they asked if I made more than 50'000 per year I figured it out and avoided their pitch. I rented from the owner so I don't know if the $250:00 nightly advertised rate is correct or not, I paid half that. It is about 2 miles to Jamestown and about 3 to colonial Williamsburg. Both Busch Gardens parks are a 15-20 minute drive. There are 3-4 decent restaurants within a mile, the main grouping on restaurants (tons of them) are about 5 miles. Being in a private rented unit I cannot speak to the condition of other units. Ours was dated but perfectly clean and well equipped. The TV's were so old that the playstation my son brought would not hook up to them (but at least they were color) All in all well the property was excellent value for me, at $250:00 per night no. If I were of a mind to go back to that area I would re-rent from the same guy. Bill L

The units we stayed in were beautiful and recently renovated. They had granite counter tops and newly tiled floors in baths and kitchen and they were freshly painted. Appliances in the kitchen were new looking and in perfect working order as well. The pool area was very clean and kept nice, and the pool area bar with lunch fare and snacks was a nice perk. The only item I would say needed a little improvement was the deck outside the back of the unit. Wear your flip flops otherwise you may get a splinter. Otherwise very enjoyable week with beautiful unit and grounds.

We stayed in a two bedroom condo in a nice area of the resort, not too far from the 3 pools. There is a lot to do at the resort, it's great for kids of all ages. There are 3 restaurants and a general store at the resort. A playground and mini golf were fun to play at. The staff was very nice. The resort was clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed our week stay.

I rented 2 condos for 4 nights at an unbelievable price of $1200. That is how much we would have spent on a hotel but without the extra room. We had 9 people on this vacation and plenty of beds. (One of my cousins had a king size to himself!) Excited about the jacuzzi in the lower condo! The resort had an arcade room, indoor and outdoor pools, mini golf, all of which I didn't test because we were so busy with Busch Gardens. In one condo we had problems with the water heater and A/C going out, but they quickly fixed it. I haven't stayed in too many condos for comparison, but everyone was happy with the experience, especially the flat screen TVs in each room. Close to Busch Gardens, Jamestown, and the WIlliamsburg WInery. Would definitely stay again if I received the same low price. Some sites I have been to ask for twice the amount I paid, so keep looking around or ask owners for lower rates.

they want you to listen to time share lecture

Room was nice, a bit on the dusty side though, neighbor downstairs smoked incessantly and it made our room smell. Pool was great, they try to get you to sign up for the time share tour and lecture and want YOU TO PAY $20 cash to hold your spot for this meeting. I said NO and they still tried to change my mind but I did not budge and did not go. The resort is close to everything family oriented. Busch Gardens, Water Country USa and historic sites. I would visit the area again but probably not this resort. I would go somewhere that is SMOKE FREE and no time share garbage.

The complex was warm spacious and cozy. Very clean and well cared for. The 3rd floor patio was bit overwhelmed with sun, recommended to the care providers table umbrellas is a must for the 3rd floor occupancy. Other than that well worth the stay. I will visit again.

2 br ground floor unit; nice space for family of 5 to spread out; pool area was very nice; had minor issues w/ dryer and hot tub but maintenance responded quickly and pleasantly; concierge called twice to get me to tour w/ chance to buy, but once I firmly said 'not interested' she left me alone; would liked to have had shower in the master bath (garden tub only); only one load of laundry detergent provided, but had enough dish detergent; would definitely stay there again!

We had a 3 bedroom 3 story condo for our family of 8. Accomodations were great. Service was excellent and facilities had lots of stuff for everyone, tennis, racketball, pools...the in condo hot tub was a bonus too. Great location for Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. An added bonus for us was that there was a great catholic church across the street from the resort - went to mass every day. Glory to God!

Loved staying here - my three daugters, 2 son-in-laws, and 3 grandchildren stayed here with my husband and I. Tastefully decorated, ample room, and just plain felt like home! We took the grandchildren to Christmas Town which was a hit. It was cold and snowing but just added to the whole Christmas feel so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The resort property was great with all the amenities offered. Our condos were satisfactory with only a few items that needed the attention of maintenance, (ants in a bathroom and a water leak in a bathroom) that were taken care of. One bathroom had loose tile perhaps caused by water leaks. The staff as a whole were very good. We were primary interested in visiting the historical elements at Wlliamsberg and needed a place to base our family group of 11 (seven adults and four children). We were busy for the entire week visiting a wide varity of communities besides colonial Williamsberg.

Worth my money

Initially I read 2 bdrm sleeps 10. not so. I had to book 2 2bdroom condo lockup for us to sleep 10. I am glad I did. The two units were beautiful. Had more than enough space and was laid out with just enough seating and sleeping accomodations for our group. The kids were in love with the pools and we loved the grounds and units. The location is very decent with markets and food available less then 2 miles away. Touring Busch Gardens for several days and going to Buckroe Beach were highlights, but having cable, internet, a hot tub and very clean comfortable beds were the things that made us call it "home" for the week. Even with brutal high heat, the A/C was working just fine! I was very discouraged by online reviews, but was thrilled that we had nice units. I would come back every year with no hesitancy as there is so much to see and do nearby.

Location is central to all Williamsburg offers, golf, historical tours, shopping but our condo was older and need of repairs..closet door broken, appliances old/not functioning well, some channels Tv not functioning room to room. Swimming pool crowded with children made it difficult for adult swims, some euipment in gym not functioning. The condo was very clean and the staff pleasent/helpful. The price was reasonable but unfortunately we would not go back. Good for families, lots to do, beautiful grounds.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort was great, good accommodation and facilities. As we came to visit Jamestown, which was just 5 minutes drive away, it was ideally situated for our holiday.

When we walked into our condo, we couldn't believe how awesome the accomodations were. This was easily the nicest place we have ever stayed in and it cost far less than the Suite Hotel we stayed in for the first two nights of our trip. There is no doubt that -- if we ever travel back to Williamburg -- we will come back to Powhatan. A GREAT place to stay!!!!

We had the 2 bedroom condo. It was 4 of us. My husband and I with our two kids. It was my son's 15th bday. We went to Busch Gardens, and Water Country. We went to the golf and go-kart place. We went to eat at several restaurants nearby- Olive Garden, and Ihop. We did not get to eat the the Restaurant at the resort.( no reason) We loved the pool and the hot tub. It was very very very very very clean. There was organized events and activities for the family every night. The whole resort was clean. Our condo was spotless. The price is very affordable. We would reccommend that to anyone. We are planning to go back. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at the Powhatan. It has a very relaxing atmosphere. The children really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and feeding the ducks and geese. The indoor pool and recreation area was under renovation we were unable to use, but did not really matter. The accommodations,like me, is showing its age. The unit we stayed in had a broken screen door which was leaning on the outside deck. The shower in the master bath did not work, and the kitchen was dirty. Nothing we could not work around, but it could use a little maintenance and updating. Overall, I would say that the location of the resort (close to everything) and the many on site activities outweighed any inconvenience we experienced in the unit.

Our stay was great. The condo was very nice and comfy, having 2 baths was very helpful. The grounds were nice and the location was very convenient, about 15 minutes to beautiful Busch Gardens and the awesome water park Water Country USA. 10 minute drive to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. 5 minutes or less to alot of shopping and restaurants.

We stay in a refurbished unit at Powhatan. The resort is within easy driving distance to most attractions. The pool was very nice. The only draw back is the geese, they are everywhere and drop their waste eveywhere. Resort is old, but Diamond is in the process of Refurbing all the units, only about 40% have been completed.

We were so happy to be able to stay at Powhatan Plantation and take in all the wonderful things to do in the Williamsburg area (Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Outlet Malls, etc) as well as enjoy the great amenities on the property. We felt we received a great value for what we spent. The timeshares are very nice and have everything you need to prepare meals in the kitchen. Comfortable beds, attractive furnishings and decorations, sheets and towels all provided, washer/dryer!! Thank you for helping to provide our family with a very memorable time---our daughter, a recent college grad, got engaged in Yorktown on the second night of our stay. Her "beau" had come down to visit us for a few days, and had OK'd his "plan" with her daddy! Happy memories!! We will recommend you to others!

the resort was fantastic the condo itself could use some updates.we had alot planned outside of the resort(colonial,azalea festival,int.tattoo).next time we plan on spending more time at the resort less time running around.it seemed like you could spend your whole vacation there and never leave the resort!

We were here for over two weeks and liked the area and the accomadation. The staff were helpful and if we had not had to ask for the air conditioning to be fixed when it was needed for the first hot day of the year would probably have given a 5 star rating, as it was it was sorted within an hour of our request.

My family of four found this accomodations to be comfortable and convenient to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg and many of the historic sites. My son was really excited to see a hot tub in the back room of our condo. There was miniature golf available and an indoor pool. My only complaint was the young lady working in the children activity center. They did not have enough kits available for kids to purchase and she was a bit snippy. The two bedroom two bath condo was large enough but needed some updating. Overall the price was right.

We really enjoyed the beauty and space that we found in the Powhatan Resort. The accommodations were wonderful and we will always look to Diamond Resorts as a place to stay in all our future travels. We were unable to hook up to wireless internet in our room, but The Grill on property had a really comfortable place for computer users to access free wireless internet.

This resort is beautiful from the moment you drive down the main driveway. A friendly staff greeted us at the front desk (after our 8 hour drive), the pool, and even the grounds crews we smiling. Upon arrival, our 2 year old was greeted by a friendly clown making balloon animals! So cute! The location can't be beat being 15 minutes from everything...the outlets, Busch Gardens, Water Country, and 7 minutes to Jamestown. The condo was perfectly clean, very spacious, the kitchen well appointed, and having 2 full baths was such a luxury. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to spend our vacation here. Having 4 pools was great. We used the toddler and family pools, I used the lap pool for an early morning workout, and having an adult only area was good for the other guests I'm sure. The deck and pools were spotless! We cannot say enough good things about this complex and would recommend it to anyone who was looking to stay in the area in the future.

Great place to stay! Close to the Williamsburg attractions too! The condo was very well kept and was gorgeous :-) The only downfall (and reason that we likely would not stay again) was that there were no elevators. As there was no availability on the first floor (or near the pool, which was our second request), we had to carry a weeks worth of stuff up 3 flights of stairs--- and with a baby having a crib, high chair, etc... it made for a lot of work! Overall, a gorgeous place, beautiful location---- but try to get first floor accommodations if possible!
