Description of the Winchester vacation cabin rental

This cabin is small, but cozy and comfortable, and will accommodate up to 4. It is located on Tims Ford Lake in middle Tennessee, just outside the town of Winchester. It sits at the edge of the lake, surrounded by 4 wooded acres, with its own dock in a private and quiet residential area. There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. There's a nice deck with a porch swing, and another swing down by the lake. You'll find picnic tables and both a gas and charcoal grill for your convenience. There is plenty of shade and it's very peaceful. There are games and rainy day activities for children, as well as an outdoor swing set and sandbox. Basic cable TV is available, as well as a DVD/VCR with a small library of movies.

Area Information

Tims Ford is a great sports lake for fishing, skiing, or boating. Lots of antique shops and other attractions nearby: 25 miles to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg TN; 15 miles from Falls Mill with the largest working water wheel in United States; mountains nearby for hiking; 16 miles to Sewanee, home of the beautiful University of the South. Located approximately 60 miles northwest of Chattanooga, 90 miles southeast of Nashville, and 50 miles northeast of Huntsville AL and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

The cabin is a very nice, quiet and small getaway. They have everything you need, all you have to bring is food, clothes and yourself. The only thing I think they may need to add is a light between the cabin and the lake. We had a very good time and will be thinking about returning next year.

We LOVE the Hawk's Nest! This was our 4th summer trip to the Cabin and we love it more each time! What a cozy, peaceful place to rest and have lots of family fun! The private boat dock is perfect for our boat and we also enjoy swimming right off the dock as well! The owners truly make you feel like your part of the family with all of the extras they leave for you! We plan to return next summer!

We had a wonderful time at Hawk's Nest! It is absolutely the most well equipped cabin we have ever stayed in. We have rented many cabins in Tennessee over the past six years including many in East Tennessee. Hawk's Nest is definitely our favorite. Most of the time you need to take items like aluminum foil, zip-lock bags, and first aid items, but this cabin already had all those items. The drawers and cabinets are all labeled with the contents which really helps when trying to locate something. The dock was perfect for fishing, the area was quiet, the gas grill was clean and ready to use, and there is also a charcol grill if you prefer. We will be renting Hawk's nest again soon!

If you're looking for a quiet little cabin in the woods by the lake, this is it. Hawk's Nest was everything we expected and more. A great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors... whether sitting by the fire, swinging in the porch swing or lounging on the pier at the lake. Fantastic Cabin Retreat

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hawk's Next cabin. Loved the rustic log walls and atmosphere. The outside space (sitting areas, swings, fire pit, bbq grills, etc.) and the views of the lake through the tall trees were amazing. Just what I needed for my working retreat. Peace and quiet in an ideal setting. Cabin is well-appointed with everything you might need. Kitchen was great. Living area with comfy sofas and nice selection of movies. Upstairs had two comfortable bedrooms (after climbing up on a fun and funky set of stairs in the middle of the cabin). Would definitely recommend it to anyone and can't wait to take my family there for fun.

The Hawk's Nest is a lovely little cabin with all the comforts of a real home....not too fancy, but extremely comfortable and it is clear that the owners have thought of everyone who might stay and made provisions for any eventuality. They even left coffee and condiments just in case you arrived in need of caffeine! It was quiet, serene, and made for a simple, great week. Now, if it were just possible to eliminate gnats and mosquitos from lakefront woods, the world would be perfect. Thank you, Mary!

Cute cabin on the mountain!

This cute, doll-house sized cabin is just right for a couple (or two) to spend the week. It is very clean with a large, well appointed deck over-looking the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with a good sized stove, refrigerator and microwave. It is within 5 minutes of downtown Winchester and 25 minutes down the mountain from Sewanee. We will definitely come back again!
