Description of the Winchester vacation cabin rental

This cabin is small, but cozy and comfortable, and is located on Tims Ford Lake in middle Tennessee, just outside the town of Winchester. It sits at the edge of the lake, surrounded by 4 wooded acres, with its own dock in a private and quiet residential area. There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. There's a nice deck with a porch swing, and another swing down by the lake. You'll find picnic tables and both a gas and charcoal grill for your convenience. There is plenty of shade and it's very peaceful. There are games and rainy day activities for children, as well as an outdoor swing set and sandbox. Basic cable TV is available, as well as a DVD/VCR.

Tims Ford is a great sports lake for fishing, skiing, or boating. Lots of antique shops and other attractions nearby: 25 miles to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg TN; 15 miles from Falls Mill with the largest working water wheel in United States; mountains nearby for hiking; 16 miles to Sewanee, home of the beautiful University of the South. Approximately 60 miles from Chattanooga, 90 miles to Nashville, 65 miles to Huntsville AL and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

• Required Stay: 2 night minimum; 3 nights on holiday weekends. Reservations must be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
   
• Deposits: $100 due at time of reservation. Deposit is applied to your total fee.
   
• Other Fees: $25 pet fee. Limit of 1 small dog (25 lb. & under).

The Hawk's Nest is a lovely little cabin with all the comforts of a real home....not too fancy, but extremely comfortable and it is clear that the owners have thought of everyone who might stay and made provisions for any eventuality. They even left coffee and condiments just in case you arrived in need of caffeine! It was quiet, serene, and made for a simple, great week. Now, if it were just possible to eliminate gnats and mosquitos from lakefront woods, the world would be perfect. Thank you, Mary!

This cute, doll-house sized cabin is just right for a couple (or two) to spend the week. It is very clean with a large, well appointed deck over-looking the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with a good sized stove, refrigerator and microwave. It is within 5 minutes of downtown Winchester and 25 minutes down the mountain from Sewanee. We will definitely come back again!
