Description of the Windermere vacation home rental

This Key West style home, located on the western shore of Lake Butler, Central Florida's exclusive chain of lakes, is a perfect location for a family vacation in Orlando, Florida. The home has been in the owner's family for several generations. It has been published in many architectural design magazines including "Better Homes and Gardens", "Open House" magazine; and featured on HGTV's "Before & After." Located only 20 minutes from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, the home offers lake front entertainment with swimming in crystal clear, sand bottom waters including fantastic fresh water fishing. The second story balcony with wrap around porches offers breath-taking views of the lake and wild life. The master suite has hardwood floors, as well as a steam shower and claw foot tub for relaxing. Fireplaces in both the family room and master bedroom create a cozy environment. The on-site dock is perfect for fishing and/ or docking your boat. When you decide to experience the attractions, Orlando's theme parks, beaches, golf courses and shopping are only a short drive away. The home is approx. 30 minutes from downtown Orlando.

Area Information

You'll probably find it difficult to leave the lake at your back door, but if you do, Central Florida offers a wide range of activities and attractions. Walt Disney, Sea World, and Universal Studios, with their multiple theme parks, offers shopping, restaurants, and other attractions, are all only 20 minutes away via back roads (no congested interstates). Central Florida offers many other attractions such as Kennedy Space Center (60 minutes away), and a wonderful selection of golf courses (several within minutes from the home). Several Atlantic coast beaches are within 40-80 minutes away. Orlando also offers premier shopping at the Millennia Mall, anchored by Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Macy ''s, as well as several outlet malls.
Lake Butler is linked to 13 lakes on the Butler Chain of Lakes. Your family can enjoy boating, swimming, fresh water fishing, canoeing, wind surfing and countless other outdoor activities. The large backyard is perfect for volleyball games and sunbathing. The home is equipped with an outdoor gas grill, which is ideal for cookouts and enjoying dinner on the patio while taking in views of the open lake.

The lake front home offers swimming in sand bottom lake and fresh water fishing. The second story balcony and wrap around porch, with four rocking chairs offer breath-taking views of the lake and wild life. Because the beach slopes gradually, your children will enjoy paddling in the large shallow water area and building castles on the sand beach. The master bedroom has its own private balcony and steam shower. The home also includes a two car garage, beautiful sunrises, and cable TV with VCR and DVD players, and a view of nightly Disney World and Universal fireworks. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with necessities such as dishwasher detergent, paper towels, napkins, salt, pepper, spices, hand soap, etc. A portable crib is also available apon request.

Great for children

Very lovely home, peaceful and quiet. Sandy beach was perfect for children to play and enjoy the sun and water. Wish we could of stayed longer. Hope to go back next year. It was everything we expected.

Fantastic Home!

We just returned from our first trip to Orlando where we stayed at this beautiful home. To be honest, the pictures, which are wonderful, didn't do the home justice. The home is beautifully decorated, the setting calm and majestic, the beds comfortable, and the price reasonable. Easter Vacation Summerport Beach 2012

We had a great week in Summerport and all in all one of our best vacations ever. The Beach house is a stunningly beautiful hideaway of calmness and peace in a magnificent place with breathtaking views over Lake Butler. It helped my family and me to relax and create a big distance from stressful situations in a surprisingly fast way.
