Area Description

The house is located 25 miles SW of Albany. It is 2 1/2 hrs north of New York City in the Hudson River Valley. You will be situated midway between Albany and Windham, NY. It's a farming area where fresh vegetables and farm produce are readily available. Wildlife abound and pass through the back yard of this house on a regular.

Within a 1 - 1 1/2 hr. car ride you have Saratoga Race track and historic sites. Erie Canal, White water rafting and river tube floats. Great Adventure Theme Park and Water Park. Cooperstown, Lake George and Adirondack Mts. Dutchess County Historic Trail including the FDR and Eleanore Roosevelt houses. Great fishing on the Hudson River. Easy access to Hunter Mountain and Windham Ski Centers as well as snowmobiling from your back door on the local trail system. I should mention cross country ski from the house on the snowmobile trail system. Garage sale heaven locally! You'll be near Woodstock, Howes Caverns, horseback riding, great fishing & hunting. There's full motor home hook up if needed (30 Amp. S/W/E). The house has hot water heat with auxillary heat via a pellet stove in the living room which gives a wonderful glow to the room. There are lots of very fine restaurants in the area and beyond excellent golf courses with no lines. All in all, this is a great base of operations to explore all that NY has to offer. You can even take the railroad for a day trip to New York City.
