Vacation Rental Description

The house is located in Winsted, in the Litchfield Hills. One of the State's largest and best known lakes, Highland Lake is over three miles in length, 444 acres in area, and nine miles of waterfront. Highland lake offers great boating, fishing, and two beaches for swimming, making it popular with residents, weekenders, and tourists alike. Highland Lake is one of the most beautiful undiscovered lakes in New England and makes for a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing getaway. The property is tucked down a long driveway away from the road and offers a spectacular full view of the lake. Have your morning coffee on the back porch watching the steam roll off of the water as birds sail overhead. There is very little activity on the lake in the morning and evenings. The spectacular sunsets upstage the peaceful beauty of the mornings with the light sparkling across the lake as far as the eye can see and the most beautiful sky overhead. No two are alike.

Area Description

Highland lake offers great boating, fishing, and two beaches for swimming. This rental offers spectacular sunsets, direct waterfront, a spacious lake house with a covered porch for lounging, large cottage on the waters edge with deck, refrigerator, microwave and table with chairs for dining, and a huge yard for kids to play. You can swim right in front of the cottage or walk to the beach at either end of the street. The immediate conveniences of Winsted are minutes away while the surrounding Litchfield Hills and Berkshire Mountains offer the best of New England culture, antiquing, shopping, and day drives. Highland Lake offers the best of both worlds, being ??away from it all ?? while remaining within two hours of New York and the other great cities of the Northeast. The house now has a new 40' aluminum dock off of the cottage in the picture for you to dock your own boat or jet-ski.
