lovely writer's retreat

My friend and i came up to Winter Harbor to edit each other's writing. We loved our cabin with its glorious full on views of the ocean, the cozy warm beds, the lovely wood floors and furnishings. When it was sunny we worked outside steps away on the rocky shore, when it rained we watched the fog come in with hot tea from the cozy warmth of inside the cabin. The walk to town was perfect, even for my friend--not a big walker, the shops, the library where we were guest speakers, and the little cafes were delightful, have free wi-fi and the best lobster rolls ever. For me, an ocean swimmer the cove was a perfect place for my daily, yes, frigid, swims. I wave to lobster boats as I swim back and forth along the shore. And the price for the cabin was affordable, much cheaper than Bar Harbor, and for me a quieter charm with still all the beauty. Need something--the local five and dime carries almost anything you need and the local IGA is wells ticked and carries local produce and especially good Maine blueberries. But take a walk and pick your own. I did. No need for yoga on berry picking days as you are mostly in a downward facing dog position! In short Sargent street in Winter Harbor is the perfect vacation spot. A short drive takes you to Schoodic Point for the most dramatic views, crashing waves, and seal sightings. I'm going to book now for next year!
