Summer vacation, 2013

September 8, 2013

This lovely, cozy little cottage was adorable, very clean, and comfortable. The views of the lighthouse and lake were wonderful. Beds were comfortable, and it was nice not to have to bring bedding or towels. There were only small problems. The owners who live next door have floodlights in three places which make sleeping difficult. Shades on bedroom windows did not block out the bright light. We hung dark towels over the windows so we could sleep, but then there was no air flow through the windows to keep the bedroom cool. There were plenty of dishes and silverware for eating, but more cooking dishes would be helpful--like a large kettle for cooking corn on the cob and lobsters. The tiny oven had only one oven rack and heated hotter than the temperature gauge indicated. All in all, the place is a great space to enjoy a true Maine lake experience. Loved the front porch with its beautiful views, the outdoor fire pit, the hammock, hours on the dock, and swimming. I would give this cottage a very high rating and recommend it to others.
