Description of the Woodland Park vacation cabin rental
Our cabin is 2200 sq ft., located 14 miles north of Woodland Park in Westcreek, across the road from pike national forest. Westcreek is an old mining town with loads of history. Creekside cabin is nestled among 50 year old giant pines and cottonwoods, on 40 beautiful acres, with groupings of rock formations. As one of our recent guests stated, "It is soothing to soul," and it is.
The sounds of Westcreek moving past the front of the cabin will simply wash away all the stresses that can accumulate with everyday life. There is quiet solitude with sounds of nature all around, an abundance of wildlife...and hummingbirds galore. A red tail hawk nests on one of our hills, you might spot our resident deer coming to drink from the creek, red fox, or blue heron on the water.
Down by the creek enjoy a game of horseshoes, or a game of bolo golf aka ladder golf, some call it hillbilly golf. (we can explain that one), it is fun though.
The cabin is newly renovated, with a large open floor plan. We do however try to limit our guests to 9 for the comfort of all. (will negotiate in certain situations.) The master bedroom is large with private bath, TV, a wood fireplace in the center of the room, and a reading area looking out to the pine covered hillside.
There is nothing more relaxing at the end of your day than a soak in the private hot tub, looking out to the stars and sipping a glass of our complimentary Colorado wine. If you're lucky it will be a full moon and you can use nature to light the room with a soft romantic glow.
And if you're up for a massage, we have 1 that will come out by appointment in advance....or 2 if you'd like to do a couples massage, very romantic.
Lots of games and puzzles.
We are close enough to everything, yet far enough to be away from it all....Pay us a visit, you won't regret it, in fact once you're here you'll never want to leave!!
40 miles of well maintained ATV trails 1 mile up Westcreek road, rentals available, they will bring to the property. Tubing, kayaking and gold medal fishing in the Platte river (10 minutes north), (15 min. south) to championship mtn. Golf course, (20 minutes to woodland park), with dinosaur resource center & museum, as well as family owned shops and restaurants, boating, waterskiing etc, at pueblo resevoir- (1 hour and 15 minutes), Breckinridge ski & snowboarding resort (1 hour,45 minutes), cripple creek casinos and molly kathryn mine (1 hour, 15 minutes) santa's workshop amusement park, cave of the winds, pikes peak and cog railway (all 25 minutes), air force academy, Cheyenne mtn zoo, garden of the gods, museums and other attractions, in Colorado Springs (45 minutes) also Manitou springs unique shops and local artists. awesome atv trails within minutes of cabin. If you don't have ATV, Rockhound near Woodland rents them and will bring them to you. Bring your horses, we have corrall, stable and trails. Too much to mention...

"Outstanding!"
One of the most relaxing places we have ever stayed as a family.
Many thanks go to owners Jim and Deb...they are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to accommodate our visit. There was simply nothing we needed they hadn't already thought of.
It is safe to say, we found this property to be much better than advertised. If you are looking for a comfortable place in the mountains to get away and relax, don't pass this one up.

Thanks so much to you both! This has been an awesome time for our family. The cabin is picture perfect, with EVERYTHING taken care of. Would love to come back in different seasons to see more of God's beautiful creation. The campfire area is great, and the morning walks along the hill and creek were serene and inspirational, especially the mallard armada paddling up the creek in the morning. Thanks for the internet, our daughter would have died with out it(no cell or text for her)

Our extended family stayed in your wonderful cabin to celebrate a fantastic New Year. The kids loved the horses and cows, the creek and definitely the hot tub. The adults loved the calm coutryside and the opportunity to watch the kids having so much fun without the TV and computer going!
The dogs probably had the most fun of all, splashing in the creek and "yelling" at the horses.
We utilized the hot tub daily, and had a lot of fun putting together puzzles by the fire. And a 6" fall of powder on our last day made your cabin into a spectacular Winter Wonderland.
Thank you so much for letting us spend our vacation in your wonderful cabin! We'll be back!

Six young people having found out their first basing assignments upon commissioning, stayed at Westcreek to celebrate the news. The lodge was magnificent, and with the exception of a few bumps and bruises, our celebration was excellent. We'd all highly recommend this place to anyone else, and hope it is around for another 50 years.....

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Everything is so comfortable and well thought out.......like one's own home. The land and scenary is very peaceful. This place is a little piece of heaven on earth. We hope to come back again soon.
The swing on the hill is scary but fun. We also love the outdoor Kiva/Fort up the hill.
Thank you so much again for everything.

Hello Deb and Jim! We are really enjoying ourselves at your cabin-inspite of the rainy weather! We have done a little hiking around the cabin. The kids love how the mountain backs right up to the house. This afternoon, they cooked up hotdogs in the fire pit at the top of the hill. And they had a lot of fun playing ladder golf too. Of course, the hot tub has been very enjoyable and relaxing. The veiws all around the cabin are wonderful. This evening we are having a great time playing games together. You have a really special place here.
Thank you very much for the beautiful balloon boquet and candy in the decorated jar! How thoughtful and nice of you!

What a wonderful place! You have thought of everything! From paper goods, a huge variety of tea, a well equipped kitchen even with spices, to wonderful cozy robes, and fire pits everywhere! Our children enjoyed exploring the property, fishing in the creek and surrounding areas, visiting the horses, selecting a different tea to try everyday, and the games and movies you provided. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing with a book while gazing at the beautiful scenery. Thanks for a marvelous time! We will be back!

What a wonderful vacation!! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous! The babbling brook was very relaxing to sit by in the afternoons, and the hot tub was even more enjoyable in the evening after a long hike through the mountains. The views all around the cabin were beautiful! Everything in the cabin was new and clean, and staying there was an experience I would recommend to everyone! Jim and Deb were very gracious and fun to work with. I would love to stay there again, and I am definitely going to spread the word about their wonderful mountainside cabin!!

My wife and I thought the Creekside Cabin was incredible! Jim and Deb are extraordinarily nice folks to work with and did a wonderful job accommodating us. The cabin has everything you could want for a very relaxing and worry-free stay. All of the amenities and extras were wonderful. The cabin is in a great location for doing whatever you would want in the Colorado Springs area yet far enough away to have a lot of privacy. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody!

In every way this is an awesome retreat. My wife, 16 yo daughter and I spent a long weekend with the cabin as home base for many local activities. Every conceivable need is already taken care of down to paper towels, ziplocs and a bottle of wine. Just add food. The views are inspiring, the cabin is charming and the sat tv and internet keep the teenagers connected enough that they don't go crazy. : ) The hot tub and the fire pit were my favorite. Thanks to our hosts!

WOW! This is amazingly beautiful! As natives to Colorado, we're pretty particular when it comes to mountain getaways. We only wish that we could have stayed long enough to take advantage of all the things to do. We'll be back for the fishing and horseback riding. The hot tub was perfect after a long, fun day of hiking and exploring the wonderful mountain scenery. We especially enjoyed roasting marshmellows in the firepit at the top of the peak with the kids after dark. We are planning to come back again soon. Thanks ! !

Perfect!
We have traveled and stayed many places in the states and other countries and none have grabbed our hearts such as this. It is such a charming cabin with the most breath taking view out of the huge living room window. We felt right at home the moment we walked in and fell in love with it.
We walked along the creek, fished in the private lake (caught lots of trout!), spent some time out front with the cows and horses, relaxed in the great jacuzzi and had s'mores and pudgie pies in the fire pit on the hill. It was a fantastic place for our "spread out family" of 6 to come together on vacation in oneplace, the first time in several years. We climbed Pikes Peak, hiked Seven Falls, visited Ft.Carson where our son is stationed, drove through Garden of the Gods, cooked together in the kitchen and ate around the large family table and woke every morning to the most amazing view out the front window. It had all the amenities we could possibly need. It was clean and well kept. And the owners??? Just the nicest people you would want to meet. We would love to keep this as our "best kept secret"...but for the owners sake will share our great experience with everyone! lol. We definitely will plan on staying there again, I couldn't think of staying anywhere else.

This is a wonderful place for family vacation. We stayed in the cabin for 5 nights together with a friend's family, and everything was perfect. The cabin is right next to a creek, and within 5 minutes drive (you can hike too), you will be at a small lake surrounded by mountains. Location of the cabin is very good, most of the attractions are with 30-45 minutes drive, and major grocery stores like SafeWay are on your way out. The cabin is fully equipped, from all kinds of seasonings to shampoo and conditioner, there is nothing that you need in daily life but can't find in it. We also enjoyed the spa and the BBQ grill, and the kids loved to watch the hummingbirds drinking from the feeder hanging outside of the big living room window, and of course they also enjoyed the cartoons on Dish Network ...

Our family of five (Mum and Dad and 3 sons aged 19, 16 and 8) have just spent 9 wonderful days at Creekside Cabin. The location was peaceful and beautiful, wonderful forest and cliffside/mountain views. We have stayed in vacation rentals around the world and some have been more glamorous but few as well equipped. There were no surprises except the pleasant kinds.
We enjoyed the hot-tub and barbecue and had enough space to find a quiet place for us all. Our youngest son especially enjoyed "adventuring" on the hill behind the cabin. The cabin is in a good location as a base to reach all that the area has to offer but also feels like you are away from it all. All the things we wanted to do were within 15 minutes to 30 minutes and some further afield at 1 1/2 hours. To us, finding a starbucks in 15 minutes was alright : )
We were able to find the back route to Denver for great food and shopping (thanks for the map provided), climbing Pikes Peak, White Water Rafting in Canon City and more. We will definitely return when we come to
Colorado again. We all returned home refreshed and closer as a family. I would definitely recommend the property to friends and family. The owners were wonderful to deal with. Thanks so much!!
