Description of the Woodstock vacation home rental
The legendary Niobe Waterfalls is the setting for this charming 2 bedroom 2 bath Victorian home at the end of a quiet country lane. Our private den sleeps two with clever and comfortable twin bed "sleeper chairs." Most rooms afford a spectacular waterfall view. A romantic, wrap around veranda runs along the river and is the perfect place for morning coffee or tea (supplied, of course, along with a variety of wholesome breakfast items). Your well mannered dog is always welcome; we provide bowls and bed for your canine companion.
An updated, fully equipped cook's kitchen provides opportunities to cook with friends, or stroll over to the Fernwood Restaurant for cocktails and dinner.
Our Waterfall Vacation Home is ideally located between Woodstock(12 miles), Saugerties(8 miles), Catskill(10 miles) and Hunter Mountain (for winter sports, 10 miles) in the sleepy hamlet of Palenville, the setting for Washington Irving's story of Rip Van Winkle. The beauty of this area serves as the inspiration for the Hudson River School of Painting.
Horse lovers, take note! We are convenient to H.I.T.S. for summertime equestrian events.
The Catskill Mountains afford many many hiking trails that take you to breathtaking vistas. Many trails are within walking distance of our Waterfall Home. Trail maps are supplied.
Visit Woodstock for galleries, restaurants, shopping and "people watching." Catskill is an up and coming arts community, and Saugerties village retains much of its original charm. Hunter Mountain is a skiers' paradise.
For antique collectors, nearby Hudson affords at least a full day of shopping. Stop for lunch or dinner at one of a number of fine restaurants.

There is no way to fully describe the unbelievable sense of comfort, relaxation, welcomeness and pure beauty that is the Waterfall House. We spent a weekend away with our dog and were able to truly feel that we had escaped our hectic city life. Barbara and Bob have made us true converts to the Catskills and the Waterfall House. They provide lots of small amenities that are so generous, and they are really invested in insuring that if you are staying at the house, you are able to enjoy the area as much (or as little) as you would like. It is such a stunningly gorgeous location though that you wouldn't be crazy for just holing up in the house and enjoying the view of the waterfall and the pleasant surroundings of the house. They also welcomed our very active and well behaved Aussie for the weekend, for which she is eternally grateful. I can't wait to visit again and again.
