Description of the Woodstock vacation cabin rental

This cabin has 2 bedroom/2 bath (one bath has a jetted tub) with additional sleeping in basement area and is located on 10 wooded acres on one of Vermont's typical dirt roads. The cabin has a newly renovated fully equipped kitchen with all the appliances, cookware and dishes you could need. There are 2 TVs with DirecTV service, DVD, VCR player, CD player, and big windows to enjoy the birds and the woods. Linens and towels are provided as well as paper products. In addition to a furnace there is a VT soapstone woodstove with glass front in the living room and firewood is also provided. The cabin is pleasantly appointed to make it feel like home. There is a small porch opening to a large deck and a propane grill. The porch and deck face the woods and when the brook is running hard you can hear the melody from the wicker chairs on the porch. The cabin is nestled between a sheep and goat farm on one side and a horse farm on the other. Well behaved pets are allowed and if you are an EQUESTRIAN there is also a 2 stall run-in barn with a small fenced paddock accessible to the Green Mountain Horse Association trails. Area Description

The cabin is located in S. Woodstock, 3 miles from the Green Mountain Horse Assoc.(GMHA) and 5 miles from Woodstock. The area is known for it's outdoor activities - skiing at Mt. Ascutney, Okemo, Suicide Six as well as several cross-country and snowshoeing areas; hiking or horsebackriding on GMHA trails or at Mt. Tom on the Billings Farm in Woodstock, additional nearby attractions are the Quechee Gorge, Windsor historical sites and museums, craft festivals, St. Gaudins sculpture park, Dartmouth College including many musical and theatrical events in nearby towns. Woodstock which is only 5 miles away is a quintessential Vermont village which offers everything from numerous gourmet restaurants, typical country store featuring many cottage industry products, butcher shop, clothing stores and art galleries. Just outside of Woodstock near the small town of Taftsville is Sugarloaf Farm which makes its own maple syrup and cheese and eagerly gives tours for visitors. Throughout Vermont you will find numerous unique covered bridges still very much in use and this area is no exception with dozens within a half hour drive.
