that was voted the prettiest town in America. 32 The Green was built in 1803 and has just been lovingly restored with no compromise made to the character and integrity of this beautiful home.
The owners of this unique property are award winning Hoteliers and Interior designers and the house is a testament to their vision of contemporary, Rustic Vermont.
Rooms flow in shades of Ivory and Caramel and the house is filled with carefully selected rustic Vermont farmhouse antiques, original wood floors, and crisp white linens.
Couple this attention to detail with the comforts and amenities of newly fitted kitchens and bathrooms and this is the perfect spot to experience the wonders of Vermont.
Of particular note are the framed newspapers hung all around 32 The Green which were discovered lining the walls of the house as insulation during the renovation period. They date as far back as 1895 and are a wonderful glimpse into New England life at the time. Of particular interest is the Spirit of the Age, The Woodstock daily from 1895 which is hung in the living room and features ads for establishments and street names which are still in existence today.

We stayed in this home for Dartmouth Graduation, 2013. It is a newly remodeled/decorated home. Pros: It was clean, which for me is the MOST important thing. I am picky, so when I say something is clean, it is. It has comfortable seating in three different areas of the home. Owners easy and nice to work with. Great location. Cons: The bedrooms are small, as are all of the rooms. If you are planning to have a party, it may be bit too small. My husband thought the water pressure was horrible in the master bath shower, but I did not find it bad in the hall bath. The kitchen is lacking in useful items -- NOT ONE kitchen towel or dish cloth. NO storage bags, foil, clear wrap of any kind. No cheese grater. Cooking pans less than great condition. Kitchens should really have the basics, and this one did not, IMO. (We have a vacation rental in CA and stock the kitchen very well with all of the above, including condiments, coffee, cooking supplies, etc. No one should have to stock an entire kitchen when on vacation.) The location is nice and close to town, however, if you are looking for quiet, this is not it. The house is on the main street in and out of town, the mornings especially are filled with the sound of school buses, trash trucks, and commuter traffic. This goes on pretty much all day and into the night, with the weekends being a bit quieter. Having said all of this, we WOULD stay here again. We were away with activities for a good deal of time and ate out a lot. Next time, we would just pack a kitchen and some earplugs. Given all of this, I recommend this house. You will be comfortable.

Having never been to Cape Cod we had expectations for the quintessential beachy New England summer experience. That expectation was met and exceeded two fold by our stay at the Gordon's. The house is beautifully decorated with every imaginable amenity, warm and welcoming; and Barbara the most gracious and generous host. There were fresh cut flowers on the day we arrived to greet us and a bottle of wine with crackers and cheese in the frig. The house and gardens are immaculately maintained and the deck with its lounge chairs and views of the ocean was idyllic. The view from the second floor balcony overlooking the ocean was breathtaking and we could open the french doors in the bedrooms and let that delicious New England air billow through our curtains. What a way to wake up in the morning. We loved our stay and would relish the thought of making it an annual event. A dream of a vacation!
