A Wonderful House in Brownsville, Vermont

1/4 mi to Ascutney Mountain Resort.
12 miles to Woodstock, VT
30 minutes to Mount Okemo.
4 hours to Manhattan via Merrit Pkwy and I-91
3 hours to Boston

The perfect vacation spot for skiing, leaf-peeping, or just kicking back. 24 acres of privacy, fields, woods, garden, rushing brook, hiking trails. Very private and tranquil. The house has 2.5 bedrooms, and extra beds, sleeps 8. Large greatroom/kitchen/dining room in timberframe house. All appliances. Has propane central heat and woodstove.

Well-behaved dogs welcome!

Great getaway for relaxation and quality time

My family and I had the most relaxing long weekend away. The house was perfect size for 6 of us and we had everything we need to be comfortable and cook meals. This was a much needed weekend away and we had a fabulous time. I would definitely stay here again.

Eclectic relaxation

We enjoyed our stay at the Brownsville house and the area was beautiful. Our family had a celebration weekend and the kitchen was big enough for all of us to fit and cook comfortably. Also when mother nature gave us a nasty rain and wind storm the house was comfy, cozy and safe. The only thing we didn't find was a radio or TV (w/satellite/cable) to check the weather. The Brownsville house is away from it all yet close enough to town (go left out the drive way) to grab a pizza and bring it back still warm. We'll be back, Thanks again!

Our stay was very relaxing. The hiking was great and the stream and river in backyard was soothing to listen to. The home has a great fireplace/woodstove and Laramie was very accommodating to our early check in and late check out. Very nice!!

Easy access to ski resorts

What a beautiful home! We stayed here and drove to Okemo to ski (easy 25 minute drive), even though the entrance to Ascutney Resort is maybe two minutes from the house (already had tickets for Okemo). The house was spacious and comfortable for our three adults, two teens, and an 11 year old. The setting was spectacular. We used the giant TV/DVD player and the wood stove, also the well-equipped kitchen. The whole family and our friends all agreed we'd like to return. The only complaint was that, on the weekend of a BIG Patriots game, there is no TV reception. The football fans went to the Loft in Ludlow and watched the game there.

Relaxation at its best!

We just wanted to have a quite weekend, away from everything and surrounded by nature. Well, this place is it! We had a grand time, just walking through the woods, the kids made 'fairy houses' and stashed stones like a 'hunebed', it was magical for them and us! Owner is thrustworthy and great to deal with! We will come back ;-)

If you love nature, outdoor living, and beautiful surrounding, lots of hiking, and close proximity to a busy town (Clairemont) and immediate Mt Ascutney, 30 minutes from Okemo, and lots to see in Windsor and love a rustic, relaxed home,well used furniture, nice large mud room, great fireplace, this is the place for you. We had a ball, hiking, enjoying a comfortable home with lots of room to move around. Homeowner great to deal with.
