college frat house

We were very disappointed with this house. In the 20 years our family has been going to the Cape we have never encountered a house in such poor shape. There was animal feces in the window sills behind the kitchen counter. Of the 5 bedrooms only two had a suitable place to store clothing. There was no iron or ironing board. There was no vacuum. There were stains on the couch, carpet, chairs and pillows. I was uncomfortable to walk barefoot in the house. The pool had a leak which required you to run the water for three hours every day to maintain the proper level. The stairs leading up to the house are uneven and felt unsafe. The railings would not pass modern building codes. There was only one working smoke detector in the house. In all fairness we voiced our concerns to the Realtor and they added a railing and sent a cleaning crew in for several hours. I did appreciate that effort. However the scope of the challenge to correct all the issues is beyond what someone can do in one day while there is someone renting the house. We have stayed in several houses in Yarmouthport that were a lot less expensive and were excellent homes. We paid a premium to stay here assuming the house was a least as good as previous homes or better. Having the pool seemed like a great thing. However in hindsight I would have much rather spent less money for a better home and gone to some of the great beaches in this area instead. In summary the house was unclean, unsafe and not worth the premium price for the pool. I will never rent a house again sight unseen.

Nothing was like the photos. It was a disgrace and should never be rented. I left after a few commitments; a month earlier. Never again. The last straw was when my cat caught some mice; in the kitchen and the dining room areas. The so called pool never was usable; the dishwasher did not work; the oven; no window treatments in two bedrooms, etc, etc., etc.
47 Union St. had a great pool & plenty of room for our family. Love the bedroom with the picket fence bed. Really nice rental Agents. Hope to stay there next year. Thanks for the air conditioner.
I would like to take a quick minute before I leave to tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation here. The pool was awesome. The second we arrived we felt as if we were "on vacation". All of the time put into decorating this home to make guests feel as if they are on a "Cape Cod" vacation was so appreciated. We will definitely come back! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for sharing your home with me. Loved the pool, and the quaint & peaceful retreat! I'll come again:)
Our thanks to all of you who stayed with us in 2011! Even more thanks for all the great feedback... Hope all return in 2012 and in years to come -you know who you are Nancy, Dave, Sue... and the rest of the best summer guests!
p.s. the house might not be on the beach but its blocks from it and it has a kick ass pool!
