rest relax and renew!!

Peaceful and beautiful, We have stayed many years at this property. First with teens who swam endlessly, went fishing off the dock, made good use of the both the canoe and kayak and played bocci and horseshoes. Now it’s a ladies week were we can relax and find such peace. During the day there is a occasional growl from the Quarry down the road but relaxing by the lake watching the many birds, dragonflies and ducks is what I look forward to all year (bring cracked corn and the ducks will visit for dinner). The Kittery outlets, Portsmouth NH with its eclectic downtown, York village and all the sun and fun of the York beaches are very close at hand. Then after a busy day you cross to the quiet side of York, away from all the noise and bustle and you can sit in the circle around the campfire and enjoy the quiet and make use of the Hot tub. The cabin is not fancy but is it very comfortable with a great view of the lake from the dining nook and a screened in porch to keep the mosquitos at bay at night. Yes the water does smell a bit from time to time but that is a small price to pay for such relaxation. I work hard and my vacation is something to look forward to and cherish. More than 10 years this where my friends and I have chosen to spend our vacation.

My husband and I take pride in making our renters comfortable.And love to have them back year after year. This cottage is simply but clean and has the best of both worlds. Close too the beaches etc and come back swim ,fish canoe. Thank you to all our renters.

The cottage was located on a small and yes serne lake 10 minutes fom York beach. The cottage as promised came with a dock, kayak, paddle board, and canoe. The daiy duck visits were great for the kids. I appreciated that while the cottage was not huge it was laid out well so that everyone could do things together and also find spaces to get away from one another. The bonus was the wonderful hot tub on the property. However it would have been nice prior to our visit to know that the water withi the cottage was very unpleasant smelling. While it is stated as safe to drink I could not bare the thought of drink such a sulphery smelling water. Had I know I would have been better prepared with bottled water. That was the single disappoinment with this rental and yet it would not preclude us renting agin, just be prepared for it.

Owner's reply:

This is a wonderful located cottage. Everyone comes back year after year.For 10 years now. We take pride in having the place clean and ready for our renters. Love having them bring there family's back year after year. Yes once in a while sulfar will put a small smell when you first turn the water on. We do have two filters on the lines. It is a small price to pay for being on a wonderful place. Well water. We don,t drink the water at home either. Please do not let this discourage you form having a wonderful time.
