Description of the York vacation home rental
Hi there! Our home is loved and lived in. We are in a unique location, just minutes from many beaches, minutes from much-loved Ogunquit,Me, and Portsmouth, NH! Easy one hour drive to historic Boston Massachusetts, and an even easier drive to Portland, Maine. We are also only 2 hours from Vermont and its majestic mountains. Rich in culture, fine art, history, and restaurants, all of the above destinations should be worthwhile to visit. Bring your camera! The summertime is the most popular time to visit New England, but the fall can be incredible with our renowned foliage.
Our house can sleep a lot of people, and is designed for easy fun and entertainment. We have fashioned our backyard for relaxation and enjoyment. Lots of places to sit and "hang-out". We have a firepit, a pool, an outdoor kitchen, a hot tub, plenty of daytime sun, and pretty flowers.
Inside, we have 5 bedrooms and 3 and a half baths (and one in the poolhouse). There is a screened in porch where we LIVE in the summertime, and a very workable kitchen. We also have wireless internet. This house is lived in by a family of 4 and a golden retriever. (pet allergies might want to go elsewhere, sorry). My point of this is that the house is lived in. If you are looking for perfection... you might want to look elsewhere. Our house is great, but in constant need of little upkeeps. If you have a sense of humor, and can overlook some of these minor "dings", this is a place for you!!
We live in a neighborhood setting. There is a minimum of 2 acres per lot in our subdivision, and we have almost 7 acres. We don't have an ocean view, but our backyard is peaceful and quite pretty. Just jump in the car and go to any one of three great beaches here in York. (beach about 5 minutes from here.) Quiet road. Lots of walkers, runners doing the "loop". We are so close to lots of cool New England things, this spot would be a nice hub for day-trippers.
Foliage hides our one neighbor nearby, so sitting by our pool is very private.

Ever heard of Ogunquit? Ogunquit is about a 10-15 minute drive from our house, and there is a lot to do there. Ogunquit is known for its fine beaches, great restaurants and gift shops, and is historically known as a seaside artist community. York has many beaches that cater to different interests, busy, quiet, kid-friendly. York also has some fine restaurants, and lovely places to visit. Try to research both York and Ogunquit to get a taste of what is in the area.
When we go out to dinner, we often travel south to Portsmouth, NH, which is 10 minutes from our house. There we find a myriad of fine restaurants, theatre, parks, shops, and seaside history.
Like to hike? Across town, York also has a little mountain. Once a ski slope, Mount Agamenticus now has hiking and horse trails, and a magnificent view of the whole area.
Great place for a picnic!
We are day trips away from historic Boston,Portland, Vermont, the White Mountains, as well as just minutes from the fantastic southern Maine coast!
Our beaches are famous, and there are lots of them very close by.
Pets will be considered on an individual basis.
