Downtown Zihuatanejo or as it is called " El Centro " is just a 25 minute walk or a 5 minute bus or taxi ride. In El Centro you will find the local mercado, banks, shopping and the many great restaurants. Close to the pier is Playa Principal where you will find the water front shops and restaurants. Be sure you don't miss the local fisherman arriving in the evenings to unload their catches.
Ixtapa is 8 miles from Zihuatanejo. There you will find high rise style Hotels and Condominiums. Ixtapa is more of a upscale atmosphere compared to the slow pace of Zihuatanejo.

Beautiful but extremely NOISY
February 21, 2011
We just came back from a 2 week stay at the villa. It is absolutely gorgeous! However there is heavy duty construction right in front of the building - as a result we could not sit on the terrace looking at the incredible view during the day. You either had to spend the day at the beach or stay inside with all windows closed in the air conditioning. Had it not been for the day passes at The Tides where we spent our days, we would have left Preciosa. We contacted the owners who were very sorry (not their fault) but there is little they can do. The new building is to open in June of 2012 - so the infernal noise will continue for a long time...

A very nice condo with good amenities. Awesome view from the fabulous deck. Nice pool which didn't see much use from the other guests when we were there. There is currently some construction noise during the day from the work being done across the street.

More than we could have hoped for. Very relaxing. Beautiful views. Wonderful staff. All the amenities of a 5 star resort.
Wonderful Zihuatanejo Vacation Spot

La Preciosa is a lovely condo with a gorgeous view Zihuatanejo Bay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. It is a small and secure complex and is located high on the hill where there's always a cool breeze. The infinity pool is a great place to relax and cool off. The beach is less than five minutes' walk and town can be reached in about 20. There are tons of great restaurants in easy walking distance. (Be aware that you'll be walking down many stairs to reach La Ropa and down steep streets to reach Madera Beach and the Paseo de Pescador. We didn't mind, but sometimes chose to catch a cab back from town to save the trek up the hill.) This is a terrific place to stay if you are planning a visit to Zihuatanejo! I'm sure we'll be back!
Oh my goodness. Where do I begin?
First, I have to thank you and Bob so much for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful condo. We cannot imagine having a more wonderful place to stay. I donât have to tell you about all its amazing attributes â the view, the decorating, the cleanliness, the comfort, the proximity to everything â but I will be telling everyone else I talk to!
And the staff... Without exception, they went over and above. They were there for anything we needed (though we didnât find we needed to call on them often, it was nice to know they were there and so willing to help). One day, we mentioned that the outside doorknob would slip off sometimes when we pulled it. The next day, it was repaired. And Maria... She is so dear and so appreciative of everything. As Iâm sure you know, she is studying English. She was very quiet at first (Iâm sure she just didnât want to be intrusive), but eventually I think it became clear to her that I loved to talk to her. After that, we had some great conversations. She showed me her English workbook and I helped with a few things she was unsure of. I loved being able to make a small contribution to her efforts to learn! She is so sweet. And, boy, does she ever take her job seriously. The first time she came, I told her not to bother changing the beds because we really didnât need them changed after just a few days and I didnât want her to have to bother. She finally agreed to leave them (reluctantly) and I thought she would just wipe down a few things and maybe take out the garbage (as there really wasnât anything I could see that needed doing). Four hours later, she was still there, cleaning everything, moving every chair and table and mopping and wiping every surface inside and out. She clearly takes her work VERY seriously and takes a lot of pride in keeping your place looking as perfect as it does. Most important, Kathleen, is that you know how grateful we are to have had this week at your beautiful condo. As you can tell, we enjoyed every moment! Thank you!!!!!!
My husband and I and two teenagers stayed here for a week in March. We loved waking up to the beautiful view of the bay, boats, birds and hills. The location of this condo is exceptional. Although it is tough to tear yourself away from the deck, the walk to the best beach in Zihua is short and charming. All the amenities are in the condo, including washer and dryer, and everything is top quality. Kathleen answered my emails immediately and was very helpful, even letting us have a late check out for a late flight. Wonderful, friendly staff couldn't have been more helpful. You will like this place! Only thing missing was games-bring some if you like to play. Kathleen told me to and I forgot
My husband and I just returned from a fantastic three week stay in the condo. Everything you might want or need is provided - it is like a home away from home. The view from the terrace is incredible, the great pool, in easy walking distance to the ocean, restaurants and stores, taxi and bus at your doorstep, 24 hr security, helpful and truthworthy staff, the washer/dryer and so much more - please read the other comments - they are so true. We hope to come back again
All the comforts of home! This is a great unit for families. We enjoy the full kitchen, large dining table, comfy living room seating and the private outdoor patio. Watch the sun go down while sipping a margarita with your feet up! With the pool just a few steps away, you never have to leave. Both the beach and town are a short walk down hill. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We wouldn't stay any place else - this is home for us when we go to Zihua
