What a wonderful home to spend a week this summer .It was very comfortable, every convenience was thought of . There was plenty of room inside and out for our two families and extended families and friends. Owners were lovely to deal with and neighbors were wonderful! We would definitely stay here again!
Owner's reply: Thanks Faith for the kind words. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again. Our neighbors said how nice you were. Please spread the word on our house to your family and friends. If they are anything like you, they're a shoe-in for renting! enjoy the remainder of the summer. Wayne and Peggy
“Great vacation cottage”
We rented this beautiful cottage for a week and it was great. Everything was well stocked and we felt right at home. We were able to make the most of the lake during the day and enjoyed the lakeside fire pit in the evenings. We will definitely be back...hopefully sooner than later!!!
Owner's reply: We too hope you will be back soon! Let us know when you are looking? Wayne and Peggy Sanders
“The Good Life!”
My kids as well as my nieces and nephews will have good memories for life after staying on Mousam Lake. Before I could get my 1st bag out of the car, they were sliding off a slide into the water. It did not stop there; there is an amazing sand bar that the kids and adults loved hanging out at which is very relaxing and a good place to get to know others whom may be vacationing as well. All this is just the outside! When you go inside the house you can tell it has and is kept up very well. It is very clean yet very cozy. There is ample room to have extended family stay and it also spacious enough that you don't feel cramped. It has a great screened in porch to hang out and have a nice cup of coffee in the morning or to just read a book while overlooking the lake. There is also a deck attached as well if you want to enjoy that book or coffee outside as well. The house is just steps away from the lake so you can watch the kids while comfortably relaxing either on the deck, screened in porch or down on the lake frontage. Nights are great with the fire pit which hosted a couple of GIANT SMORES concoctions for the kids. To end the night while the adults relax by the fire pit, the kids enjoyed some great classic movies like Goonies and the Sand lot. To say this place is great is an understatement. My family as well as my in-laws had a blast as this is just the vacation home you hope for when you go away with your family.
“Wonderful Family Vacation!”
We rented this property for our large family - lots of kids and adults. The location is perfect - loved having a pretty private place for the kids to swim while hanging out on the deck. They also got to fish from the dock, it was a great experience for them! Nights by the firepit were a highlight. It did rain while we were there but the screened in porch was a savior! The house was very clean and very home-y. We had plenty of sleeping room and private space. And loved looking at the owners beautiful photos on the walls from traveling. We took great walks and bike rides in the area. The house and the property were perfect for us and we will definitely rent again next year. Great memories were made!
Owner's reply: We are so glad you enjoyed your time at our house and look forward to having you there again next year.
“Our week on Mousam Lake”
We arrived at the rental property to find a spotlessly clean, very lovely home. We were very happy with the accommodations, but were disappointed with the lake itself. The house is on a cove and the water was filled with plants to the extent that we could not swim there. We called the owners son (our contact) and spoke with him. The owner then called us to say the lake had been fine the week prior. We used the owner's rake with permission and cleared away some of the green scum near the edge of the water so the little ones could swim. We had to pack up and use the town beach for any swimming for the adults as the weeds just beneath the surface were very thick and tall. A neighbor there had wondered whether the town had opened the dam as the water level was low. The green scum would come and go, depending on the wind direction, but the water plants were a constant. It was disappointing to have gone to a lake house, but not be able to swim right there. We hadn't planned on having to pack up and go outside the cove to swim. Also, the ceiling started to leak, a slow drip, but we couldn't find the source. I again spoke with the owner's son who said the pipe had just been replaced. This was Tuesday afternoon. No one came to make a repair and the area of wetness in the ceiling spread considerably by Saturday morning. We were sorry to see it happen. Saturday, the day of our arrival, the lake was very noisy with watercraft, fireworks, etc., but by Sunday evening all was very quiet and peaceful, which we appreciated very much. The owners was very good to deal with prior and during our visit. I am confident they wanted us to be happy with the accommodations.
