Description of the Aegina vacation villa rental
Take a romantic boat ride or horse-drawn carriage along the shoreline of the Mediterranean. Watch amazing sunsets off the villa balcony. Enjoy the stars lighting up the classic Aegean Sea. These are just a few of the things that make the Villa Colettis an utterly unique, perfectly Greek, place to stay.

The Villa Colettis is a family owned, two-level villa overlooking the western vista of the Aegean Sea, less than one hour from Athens by ferry. The villa is a short drive from the port, and guests will find popular sites, restaurants, and activities within minutes. The UPSTAIRS apartment sleeps 4 to 6 and features a full kitchen, two large private bedrooms (queen-size beds in each), spacious living area (with sofas and small library), bathroom, dining table for 6, and large balcony with a spectacular view of the Peloponnese in the distance. The DOWNSTAIRS apartment sleeps 2 to 4 and has a kitchen, two bedrooms, living area with comfortable sofas, bathroom, and large balcony. Towels and linens are provided. A discount accompanies simultaneous rental of both apartments.

When you are ready to come, a bilingual escort will meet you in Athens and lead you to the island by ferry. The Athens/Aegina trip is 30 minutes by hovercraft and about an hour by standard ferry. Standard ferries take cars, which are a necessity in order to see all that the island has to offer. Guests receive excellent rates on auto rentals. Please discuss your rental needs with your escort.

Area Info
The ancient island of Aegina is the first major port of call from Athens. Aegina was the capital of Classical Greece, the location of the world's first public library, home to the Temple of Afaia (older than the Parthenon), the incredible St. Nektarios monastery, and much more. The Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis, lived and wrote on the island. His works include Zorba the Greek and The Last Temptation of Christ. Kazantzakis loved Aegina from his earliest years, and this is what he wrote about the island: " . . . good, simple, full of light, the sea like glass, the mountains serene and good-hearted, the earth lush and green. I owe all my work to this solitude. I would have done nothing, and been nothing, without solitude."

Your rental packet will provide information, maps, and phone numbers to places on and near the island for sites, activities, and events to help your trip become a lifetime memory.

Several of Aegina's beaches are nearby. The quaint peninsula of Perdica, seen from the villa balcony, offers a row of intimate seaside tavernas (cafes) and a marina. Aegina's port is 8 minutes by car and includes banks, restaurants, car and sailboat rentals, grocery stores, souvenir shops, and a busy night life. Other parts of the island, which require transportation to get to, round out the amazing experiences you will enjoy on one of Greece's most authentic islands.

We stayed in your beautiful villa for our honeymoon and loved every minute we were there. The trip to Epidaurus was soul-shaking. Thanks for the personal touch. J & A Barnes, Tennessee, 2009

The villa was everything we hoped for. Thanks for everything. Hiking the island and seeing the temples and especially St. Nektarios monastery . . . the whole trip was a dream come true. We highly recommend the Villa Colettis. N. L. and Family, 2013

Boy, Greek terrain sure is steep! But the landscapes are breathtaking! No beating that anywhere. Moni was a quiet delight. Thanks for that recommendation. We appreciate you and Antonia making our family trip so awesome. Andrew & Family, Texas, 2014
