Description from manager

Situated in the pretty town of Ambleside, lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, Lakes cottage is an attractive semi-detached property sleeping up to 5 people. Over 3 floors, the property has 1 x king sized double, 1 x twin and 1 x single bedroom, as well as an open plan living area, perfect for family breaks. With stunning features such as a wood burning stove, period features and a small enclosed garden, Lakes cottage offers everything you would expect from a truly immersive Lake District experience.

Amenities: Gas central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent, additional logs to be purchased locally. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Load/unload outside property only. Parking permit for 1 car in local car park, 4 mins walk away (refundable deposit of £200 required for permit). Small patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 2 mins walk. Note: Second floor bedroom has sloping ceilings and is accessed via a slightly narrow and steeper staircase with right hand turn, therefore this property may not be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.

Town: Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
