This was an excellent accommodation for four couples to relax and catch up. Easy access to beach steps away, easy access to old Fernandina for dinner and shopping. The home was immaculately clean, comfortable, and had all necessary amenities for a long holiday weekend. Thank You John Crump and Jan McCarthy for a terrific experience.

We loved our stay here - the house was perfect for our group of 6 friends! Right on the beach, and the screened porch was our favorite gathering spot. Upstairs balcony was the perfect spot for stargazing. The home was clean, bedding comfortable and every room had a ceiling fan. Fernandina's beach was uncrowded and clean. The downtown area has darling shops and there are many good restaurants! We will be back! Downsides: wifi and cell service were difficult at the home; beach chairs & umbrellas could use an upgrade.

Crump Sand Castle is a beautifully decorated and well kept house. From almost every room you can enjoy beautiful views at the ocean. The house offers a lot of amenities and enough space for sharing relaxed vacations with family and friends. We especially loved the evening hours at the porch the kitchen / living room area. The location is perfect - the beach just a couple of steps away, a very quiet neighborhood and yet only few driving minutes away from Fort Clinch State Park or some nice bars and restaurants. We would definitely love to come back again.

My husband and I took our family to Crump's Sandcastle for a week. It was the best vacation rental ever ! The screened porch facing the beach is ideal for kids to play, or your morning coffee, or a drink in the swings while watching the sunset. The four bedrooms had great, comfortable mattresses and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Two king beds, four double beds, and three twin beds in the playroom give you enough room to spread out !! We enjoyed the roof top porch, the two decks off the king bedrooms, and the huge screened porch. The kitchen is well equipped and the storage room has all you need for the beach ! Books, toys, videos, and games galore, so you don't have to take all that stuff ! Covered parking for three cars, an outside shower, and a play area under the house just added more to this perfect beach house. Beachfront views from the living area, screened porch, two king bedrooms, and upstairs playroom make it ideal even if it rains ! Close to the Pirates Playground and downtown. Uncrowded beach area. Gorgeous views. Fabulous house. Very nice management.

Wonderful time and a great place to gather for a week long vacation with family. Would recommend to other large families. The beds need an upgrade to Queens in the 2 downstairs bedrooms that are non master bedrooms. Management was excellent and attentive to our needs. Thank you, Joanna

Crump Sandcastle was the perfect option for our family to celebrate our parents' wedding anniversary. With lots of beds and private bathrooms, it was ideal. And the North Beach area was quiet and exactly what we wanted. The screened porch was enjoyed by all and the views can't be beat. All in all--- a perfect place for a larger family gathering.

This was our second visit to Crumps Sandcastle and we loved it again. It is the perfect spot for our family. A few things need to be addressed. The most bothersome being the noise from the air conditioner in the back bedroom. Different people have stayed in that room both times and all agree that you have to have earplugs to be able to sleep. Wish something could be done about that. We had 2 pre teen boys in the loft and they never indicated the noise up there was an issue. (but they would sleep thru a dynamite blast) We love the location and the uncrowded beach. We hope to be able to return.

Crump Sandcastle was a heavenly vacation spot. The layout of the house allows guests privacy in the bedroom suites and ample space for hanging out in the common areas. There was room for many guests. The beds were very comfortable with plush linens and towels provided. The house was beautifully clean when we arrived. The only (small) disappointment was that because of the acoustics the sleeping loft didn't really work out as a place to sleep. Noise from the kitchen was amplified in the loft space, so, although it was a cozy spot to hang out, all the guests would have to be on the same schedule for it to work as a bedroom. The screened porch was beautiful. The living room featured a massage chair to complete the process of total relaxation. The beach is not crowded and the water is warm and clean. The little town of Fernandina Beach is close by with many interesting options for eating out and a darling bookstore for browsing. We will definitely come again!

We had 5 other family members stay with us as well as 4 other family members who live on Amelia Island visit periodically The Castle was great. Beautiful ocean views, easy beach access, plenty of room. Could not have asked for better accopmidations.

We couldn't have been happier with the house. It had some issues like broken door handles and washing machine knobs, but none of those were all that important to us. The location, size, and comfort of the house were perfect for us and we plan to return again next year.

The house has an excellent floor plan for large groups or family members. The great room is spacious and equipped with adequate seating, including a dining table for 8. Appliances are modern and functional. Plenty of cookware, utencils, etc. House was clean and neat. Good parking for 4-5 cars under the house. I would definitely stay here again. the view of the ocean is expansive and calming, with beach access right out of the front door. the only problem we had was that the DVD player did not work. We were not able to get that resolved before the end of out stay. Other than that, it was GREAT!

Great Beach House for Large Family

August 8, 2011

This is a very well designed house for a beach vacation. All bedrooms have a view of the ocean. There are plenty of bathrooms as well as an outside shower stall. The center of the house includes the kitchen which flows into the family room which is connected to a scrrened in outside porch. This is great for congregating for meals as well as for playing games in the evening. The location is great as your are 30 yards from the beach, less than a mile from Fort Clinch and only about 1.5 miles to downtown Fernandina Beach. Improvements could be made to the maintenance as the handles to the sliding glass doors were broken and the refridgerator didi not keep things very cold. The grates to the grill were rusty and dirty. It would also be recomendd to bring your own beach chairs as the ones provided are old and rusty. Overall it is a great beach home and a nice place to stay for a fun beach vacation!

Stayed at the Crumpcastle for a month and enjoyed every minute. Ginger and Jack's home on the beach is the best location on the beach. The beautiful house is well set up to accommodate (there were 11 of us at one time) families. The living room - kitchen/dining layout is great for cooking and gathering. The spacious four bedrooms and loft, together with the 4.5 baths provide lots of room and convenience for large groups and the 4.5 baths were appreciated. thank you, jill and jack for sharing your home with our family this past summer. the location is wonderful-walk out the door across the road to the beach. the views were wonderful. we spent lots to time on the screened porch chatting or listening to Jared play the guitar and sing. it was just a comfortable and enjoyable time for 14 of our family members to meet, and the kids had a blast. the crumps have provided tons(!) of beach toys to take over to the beach and a wagon to pull them in. awesome! convenient, beautiful, and lots of good food. thanks again, ginger and jack.
