Description of the Anchorage vacation home rental
Our house is in the midtown area, within a few miles to everywhere. The first time we saw it, we fell in love with it by its convenient location close to the University of Alaska, hospital, well-known Anchorage Botanical Garden, and an easy access to local restaurants and shops. Two bus lines will take you to downtown and large shopping malls.

The property faces east with two bedrooms bathing in the morning sun. At the back is the Reflection Lake, at which we have a large deck with a full lake view. The summer sunset takes quite a few hours and one can enjoy the sunshine on the deck till 11pm. Frequently you can see kayaks or canoes drifting on the water and ducks splashing water for fun.

Inside the property, there are two floors. The sitting room, eating area, and the kitchen are on the first floor where you can see a power room (a half bath), a large window and a french door leading to the deck. You can choose to have your breakfast either on the deck under the pavilion or at the eating area inside, you can always enjoy the full lake view. On the second floor, we have two bedrooms (The Fireweed Hut and the Pond-Lily Hut) both with windows facing east. The Fireweed Hut has an on-suit bath and the chick bath for the Pond-Lily Hut is across the corridor. Both rooms are very clean, eye-appealing, and comfortable to stay. There is a loft on the second floor where you see a new mattress, a place to relax and hang out in the evening. It can easily host 2 persons to sleep on a new mattress and is loved by children in particular. We also have an office on the same floor where you can use the media or sit and talk. There is a queen-size sofa bed in there that can sleep for at least one person very comfortably. Next to the office you can see the laundry room where you see the washer and dryer. Feel free to use the facilities and detergent is provided for your convenience.

You're welcome to stay at our property and you will surely enjoy your morning and evening at the house when you return from the daily exciting trips in Anchorage or close-by areas.
Area Information
At the heart of Anchorage, our neighborhood is quiet and nice place to stay. It is next door the Anchorage Botanical Garden, a must-to-see place during your stay and it is a few minutes away from a golf course and trails. University of Alaska Anchorage and hospital are within 3 minutes' drive.

Driving towards north, you can reach Wasilla Big Lake area and Matanuska Glacier. You can also pass Long Lake where the beauty always presents itself. Heading towards south, you can drive along one of the most beautiful high ways in the US: the Seward High Way which takes you to Whittier, Alyeska, Portage, Cooper Landing, and Seward. You can take a cruise to see Glaciers at the sea or enjoy fishing in the beautiful water of the world's famous Kenai River.

Choosing where to stay is choosing a life attitude. By nature, we, Jason and Annie have been exploratory in our lifetime. We came originally from China over 20 years ago to put down the roots in the U.S. to study, work, and enjoy life. We have stayed in Arizona, Utah, Michigan, and Alaska. We like them all for their respective uniqueness, particularly Alaska for its natural beauty, colorful outdoor events all year round, and its people. We highly appreciate what we have experienced.

We also love cooking, traveling, classical music, and entertaining friends. We want to proudly share with you our experiences in Alaska-a piece of paradise.

You will enjoy our hospitality through our service, as we are bilingual professionals with the passion for life and nature.

We had stayed in Jason's rental home twice during our 8-day Alaska journey. It was the most friendly hotel experience we ever had before, with very comfortable king size bed, gorgeous balcony with fabulous lake view, family-like kitchen, delicious seafood meals, and the most friendly hospitality from Annie and Jason. We definitelly would recommend our friends to stay here for their next Anchorage visits.

The vacation home was beautiful and in a great location. The master bed was incredibly hard and the home really only has two bedrooms for sleeping. The extra beds would do for children but not adults. Overall it was a great stay and Annie was very helpful.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for your valuable feedback that is so important to improve our service. We will replace the current master bed immediately with a new one. The futon is a little short for adult and we will change it to a high quality queen size futon. We will also put a new mattress in the loft area that kids love to stay. This way, the house can host 7 people. We're glad that you love the place and will continue maintaining it to the satisfaction of our future guests. Appreciate your help and support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: A large backyard deck at the transquil Reflection Lake and free use kitchen, laundry, and garage?
A: Our lakefront deck is an ideal place to have meals and to relax. You can sit around a table or lie in the comfortable recliners underneath a canvas gazebo to enjoy a cup of coffee or bird chirping while viewing the ducks' chasing in the lake. You also use our kitchen with utencils, laundry with detergent provided, and the garage at demand.

Bedrooms and other spaces in the property are very comfortable, clean, and update in deco. Facilities are appropriate, sufficient, and free for use including the laundry, the garage, and the kitchen.
Q: How far is your vacation rental from activities?
A: Anchorage is kind of square in shape and it takes a few minutes to most activities. For our rental property, it takes about five minutes to the Mid-town area and a shopping mall, about 8 minutes to Costco, and about 15 minutes to Downtown Anchorage.
Q: What's the coolest nearby activity?
A: Anchorage Botanical Garden is within the walking distance. Glen Alps is about 15 minutes away. Parks and trails connected communities in the city. Lots of trails go through woods and up to the cliff along the coast. All are within about 20 minutes' drive at the farthest.
