Description of the Andover vacation cabin rental
Cute little off-grid timber frame surrounded by thousands of acres of woods, streams & trails; perched on a hardwood ridge with panoramic views of the valley, 70 acres of privacy. Everything is sparkling new at Moose Mountain Cottage on Skyline Ridge; the cabin is fully equipped with water, linens, towels, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, etc.

Drive to the tiny village at the end of the state highway. Continue north into the mountains, and the road soon turns to dirt. Drive along the babbling brook for another mile. Turn right just before the road turns into a snowmobile trail in the rugged Sawyer Notch. Wind your way up onto the ridge through a beautiful birch forest. Drive to the end of the road and you're there!

Settle in, enjoy the panoramic mountain view from the huge open deck under the hemlock trees. No TV, no noise, no traffic, no people. Set on the porch, sipping stove-top percolated steamy coffee. Doze off in the chaise lounge. You won't miss electricity. Snuggle by the wood stove and play checkers or read. Just you, your family, (including your pets!) and books, board games, crossword puzzles, cards, campfire, woods, streams, waterfalls, owls, turkeys, deer, moose and mountains, lots of mountains. Wander down the trail and see a moose. Find antler sheds. Snow shoe, ski, hike, bike, ATV, kayak... or... just SIT and do nothing! Wake up in the morning and enjoy the panoramic mountain view, without moving a muscle, from the huge window at the foot of your bed. Additional huge windows in the kitchen and living room assures you will not miss the gorgeous sunset from any room. Yes, even the bathroom!!

The cottage is non-electric so you can UNPLUG... no intrusions from the outside world. For your comfort and convenience, it has gas lights, a gas refrigerator/freezer, and a full size gas range. The attached (heated!) bath room has a clean, odor free composting toilet, seasonal gravity fed solar-heated shower and a sink. Drinking and washing water, and firewood are provided. There is a comfy full bed in a private bedroom; two twin beds in the loft are easily slid together to form a KING size bed! WE ARE PET FRIENDLY; do not leave Fido behind! There is plenty of room for him to run, but please do not leave him unattended in the cabin.

We are on a hill, it provides the AWESOME view; AWD/4WD required in winter!

We stayed two nights at the cabin and loved it. Unfortunately I was sick one day, but Brenda came to the rescue and delivered medicine to me. The cabin was just as described, with a very well stocked kitchen, comfortable chairs and bed and great views. Definitely plan to return

Thanks, Eleanor! Hope you're feeling better! See you next time!

Absolutely beautiful and relaxing stay

January 4, 2016

I stayed there with my boyfriend and our dog for two days during New Year's and it was just wonderful. The views were incredible and breathtaking, and it was really cool to be awoken by sunlight in the morning. There is a hiking trail right behind the second camp which was made a bit strenuous because of the snow. Our dog loved the freedom though, and the hills; he made climbing up and down the trail in the snow look so easy! Mostly we spent the two days relaxing. We grilled steak one night, and there are all sorts of pans and utensils available inside to cook with, which we used for breakfast. It was very warm and toasty inside too, and we were provided a good amount of firewood to keep burning. The cabin itself is neat and tidy. It has lovely decorations and artwork on the walls. We even bought some antlers for our dog to chew and he finally can't get through a chew toy for once. All of the gas lights and gas stove were also very easy to use and it almost felt like we had traveled back in time! My only wish is that we could have spent more time exploring. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and enjoy life in peace and quiet :)

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Tainara, You need to come back soon to do some more exploring! Within walking distance are waterfalls, rock water slides, pools with huge rock slabs to jump off of, 100' long beaver dams, gorges etc. Short drive to remote lakes to kayak, bald eagle nests, secluded sandy beaches.... You need to return! So glad you enjoyed your stay; hope to see you again soon!

Everything You Could Possible Ask For!

January 2, 2016

My husband Jeff and I spent three days and two nights up at Moose Mountain Cabin last week and we had an absolutely lovely time. We wanted to get away from it all post-holidays and this cabin more than delivered. It's adorable, comfy, surprisingly spacious (Jeff, who is 6'6, had no problems stretching out) and the wood stove is toasty warm. It was comforting knowing we were off grid in a space so private it's out of GPS reach, haha. Brenda and Lance are truly marvelous hosts, friendly and accommodating while still giving us space; they even plowed us out day two, after a storm. We didn't really mind being snowed in, though! Anything you might need is provided, from coffee mugs to cast iron skillets to Trivia Pursuit. I loved keeping my percolated coffee warm on the wood stove while curled up in a chair reading in the AM. I don't know if I've ever left a vacation feeling as relaxed as I did when we left Moose Mountain. Thank you again, Brenda! We're in love with Andover and with your little cabin (and your dog)! We're already planning to return next year- and the next, and the next, as long as you'll have us!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

OMG Cait, that was the best review ever! It makes us so happy to know we are spreading happiness all around to super nice folks like you guys! In today's impersonal technological world which can be inherently negative, we love meeting and talking with people like you, and providing them private outdoor and comforting indoor environments and experiences, and time to rethink things and just relax and enjoy each other's company.

Unbelievable location. A find above finds. The structure is tight but delightful. The hosts are inspiring and if you love the outdoors, you will be so happy. The kitchen pots and pans could be updated but we did fine. Peace and tranquility.

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So glad you enjoyed your stay, Anne. Maybe you missed the cast iron cookware hanging on the wall? Will take inventory to make sure we haven't missed anything there..... Thanks for your review; hope to see you return.

Moose mountain

November 3, 2015

The moose mountain cabin we rented from brenda and lance was all that we expected and more! We had a great time on the property just hanging out by a camp fire at night and went hiking during the day. The cabin is beautiful, clean and comfortable and has everything you could need already there. And, most significantly, we saw moose and deer just steps from the cabin our first morning there, cant wait to go back this winter for another serene getaway!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So happy that the moose are being sighted again here on Skyline Ridge!! Glad you could enjoy them Greta.... and so glad you enjoyed your visit! Not to brag, but we saw two bulls and four cows right down below our deck last week! The smaller bull was hanging way down at the wood line. What a show we had that day!

Great Seclusion

August 4, 2015

My wife and I stayed along with our labrador retriever this past weekend and had a great time. The cabin is perched on the top of a mountain and not a single sound can be heard other than nature, birds, and the weather. If you're looking for a total seclusion, off grid experience, this is the place. The bathroom is super clean and does not smell, the water situation is fun and not a lot of work, and the gas lights are fun and cozy at night. Completely off grid and what a view - you wont get tired of just relaxing to the view of the mountains. Great hosts, great location, give it a try!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So happy to have another satisfied customer! Thank you for the kind words, James! It is gratifying to share our paradise with others who appreciate the same things we love about this special place. From the coat of Joseph!! You are welcome here any time. Hope to have you back soon!!

Great weekend of fun!

July 26, 2015

This was my family's 2nd time staying at moose cabin and it was every bit as fun as the last time! We also had family out at the winona cabin, so it made for a great experience to be able to go back and forth between the cabins depending on what was going on! We will definitely be back again! We love the serenity this place offers! Not to mention the many natural wonders around the area! Fans for life here!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So glad to have you guys again stay with us Jeff! I hope little Adam didn't empty his piggy bank to make sure you had enough money to stay with us! LOL I love when families with little children stay with us, it instills a love of the real-life outdoors they will grow up with, far away from all the artificial gadgets and games of today's fast paced and frenzied modern world.

Both cabins were incredible

July 7, 2015

Rented both cabins on this property with a few friends and they were both incredible. The cabins themselves are extremely well maintained and were very comfortable. The view from both cabins was great and there was plenty to do in the surrounding area. 9 friends and I spent the 4th of July weekend hiking, swimming, and canoeing and having these cabins to come back to for a campfire and grilling every single night was the perfect situation. Brenda and Lance (the owners) were very helpful and nice. They had wood and plenty of drinking water there waiting for us the first day. We met with them the first night and they gave us plenty of tips on things to do/places to see in addition to the binder they leave which has additional recommendations and maps. I would definitely recommend and am already planning for additional stays in the future

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Casey, thank you for the compliments! I must say I was a bit concerned about 10 friends out there at the cabins but you guys were great! Very respectful of our property and no trouble at all! Come back soon!

"Cozy" would be an understatement

June 7, 2015

This was one of the most, if not THE MOST, relaxing getaways my fiance and I have ever experienced. We happened to be there during the first really cold days of fall and my fiance hurt her foot a week before and was running a marathon at the end of the month so we were limited on our exploring but it was still an amazing stay. It is the perfect size and then some for a couple and a dog, even one that weighs about 90 pounds. The view is amazing even with no leaves on the trees. Heck, this may even make it better. The huge deck is amazing and would be even during cooler temperatures. All we needed was food, adult beverages, and coffee and I think pretty much everything else was there for us. I am a teacher and my other half a product/graphic designer. This forced us to unplug for the weekend and live life the way it should be...without worrying about work and what needs to be done the next day. Completely silent at night. No humming or buzzing of electricity flowing through the building. I went back to work feeling completely mentally refreshed. And I am not exaggerating. Definitely a place we will keep going back to in years to come. This has also pushed us in the direction of constructing an off-grid tiny house. One of the best parts is the wood stove because it reminded us of our childhood growing up in rural Pennsylvania. Our pup, Cooper, had the time of his life. Not only was this because of his love for the outdoors, but also the fact that he LOVES antlers and a nice moose antler was the perfect treat! He enjoys gnawing on it to this day(6/7/15) and we will be sure to purchase more and also some of the awesome artwork on our NEXT visit! The owners seem like the type of people you hope to meet everyday of your life. Brenda was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had while on our visit. Time passed and we forgot to write a review and then considered booking again and realized we failed to provide the owners with a much deserved review and they certainly deserve a GREAT one. THANKS A TON for a great stay!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Ryan! Thank you for the best review ever! It is reviews like this that make our hard work so rewarding. I am so glad you took the time to reveal your heartfelt thoughts. And would love to have you guys back again this summer or fall when the wood stove is cranked up. How did Christin do in the marathon?

Wonderful get-away!

June 3, 2015

Though we didn't travel far from home, it felt like it as we were able to spend time off-grid, though we still had cell phone service. I couldn't stop looking out at the scenery and listening to the birds from the back deck. It was so wonderful just to relax, soak in the sun, sights, and sounds and explore the area. I would love to return or have my own off-grid cabin.

Jamie, love to have you back. It is addicting, the quiet and animal sounds! Hope to see you soon!

Perfect getaway

May 31, 2015

Our expectations for the Moose Mountain cabin were high based on the description, photos, and reviews, but the cabin blew our expectations out of the water! This is such a great cabin, cozy and secluded but a short drive from town. Absolutely stunning views, charming decor, indoor bathroom, and dog friendliness are just a few of the highlights. Brenda and Lance were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with - it was great having them right down the road in case we needed anything. We had an absolutely fantastic time and can't wait to come back. For anyone interested in hiking, we recommend bringing your own guides and maps, as the maps in the cabin mostly cover ATV trails in the immediate area.

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Thank you for the kind words, Jennifer! The view is definitely much more spectacular in person, almost makes you dizzy! BTW, There is a pocket sized Appalachian Trail Guide Book on the book shelf you may have missed, and a local page from the Maine Gazetteer on the front of the informational notebook. We now have a New England Waterfalls Guide, which gives descriptions and directions to the cool places around here. (Of course Devil's Den is not in there, still a secret.... Shhhhh!)

Unbelievable!

April 7, 2015

Far surpassed all our expectations! My family, 2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog, stayed at this fabulous, charming cabin from 3/28-4/4. The hosts had the fire lit, wood stocked and water waiting for us when we arrived. We walked in and all 4 of us just stared and kept saying, oh my, oh my, oh my. We couldn't believe the incredible view and sweetness inside the cabin. My children were extremely excited, screaming mommy look at this, look at this. The inside bathroom, with composted toilet, is spotless. Cooking utensils and bedding are all supplied. The only things you need are your clothes and food. Easy and extremely comfortable. My children were able to wind down, away from electronics! and relax and play. The hosts dropped off their favorite children's books for my son and daughter. We read, played cards, played games (all stocked in the cabin), cooked and hiked. The most relaxing vacation. However, the best of all, are hosts Lance and Brenda, who welcome you with kindness, hospitality and loving care. We can not wait to return to the magical cabin in the woods. Thank you, Lance and Brenda, for introducing us to your special place in the mountains of Maine!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Gina, I am blushing! It was nice to meet you and your family, and introduce you to our paradise up here in the woods. We feel so fulfilled when folks like you are able to leave with long lasting happy memories of their time in the mountains of Maine, in the little cabin on the hill. It is rewarding to hear such kind words about us. Thank you and hope to see you soon!

Amazing getaway!

February 23, 2015

My boyfriend and I stayed from a Friday-Sunday. We enjoyed sitting by the fire Friday night. Saturday afternoon we took the snowmobiles through Grafton Notch, on our way back we got to see a bobcat! Sunday morning on our way to breakfast we saw two deer on the trail, on the way back from breakfast he proposed on a scenic hill side! It was such an amazing weekend! The cabin was everything I could have hoped for and more, clean, cozy and fully stocked with all our essentials. Brenda and Lance were both so helpful and welcoming. We loved meeting them and getting to know them! Neither of us can wait to go back! Thank you again!!

Amazing!

January 10, 2015

My wife, myself and our two dogs booked the cabin for 3 nights in January. We ended up staying an extra night. With the wind chill the temp was -25F. We stayed two years ago and loved it then as well. We will be back next winter if not sooner! The owners are wonderful people and the property is beyond gorgeous!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Yes, it was a COLD weekend in January! We saw 55 mph wind gusts and -22 one night, so probably worse than you thought Ryan! I bet the wood stove was cozy, even though the porch furniture was rambling around back and forth!

Prettiest of Views

December 30, 2014

No where in my travels have I found a place like this that had breathtaking views right from the bed. You'll wake up looking at paradise and not want to get down from the bed. You drive through a winter wonder land to get to the cabin. The cabin was charming and cosy. We loved huddling around the wood stove that kept us warm during the cold winter. There were a lot of pretty trails around the cabin to explore. It was a real Maine country side experience that we want to come back to in all four seasons.

Thanksgiving at moose mountain cabin!

December 5, 2014

What a blast! The husband and I came up to get away from all the stresses that go along with the holidays and we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot. Quiet, secluded and a great view! The snow covering made everything picturesque. Even tho it seemed like everything must have been miles away it was all so close. It only took a few minutes to get to town and the sites. Devils den was a great spot as was the ledges and I'm sure the falls are beautiful during their running season. We can't wait to come back during a warmer season to see the sites at their peak and try Winona cabin.

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Love to have you guys back again.... each season here is so different, the scenery changes drastically. Not sure when is my favorite time of year. I'd have to pick late August if I had to, or maybe late September. No wait, I really love when the snow is really deep in February; then again early May is so green.... LOL

Great getaway and great hosts

November 21, 2014

The location of the cabin is as ideal of a spot as any i have ever seen. Set on a ridge, surrounded by mountains, i immediately could feel the stress leave me upon arrival. The husband and wife who own the property couldn't be any nicer and were very eager to make my experience a good one. The cabin is very clean and has a cozy feel to it. The only reason i didn't give five stars was the wood stove took some work to get going due to the wood not being completely seasoned. However, they did supply enough kindling to make it possible to light. If you like to hunt, atv, snowmobile or just be surrounded by pristine wilderness then you won't be disappointed. I would definitely go back again.

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So glad you liked the cabin Mario. We use the same firewood at our house and haven't had a problem. Not sure what happened there, as we also lit the fire off for you before you came. It takes awhile to get used to the operation of a stove when you are not used to it. We are always happy to help when asked!

Off the grid relaxation at it's best!

November 2, 2014

As the title says, this place offered relaxation at it's finest. My wife and I went for three night with our dogs and had an amazing time. The weather wasn't the best while we were there but we still got out each day for a hike with the dogs and had fun exploring the area! The bed was comfortable, gas lights easy to work, fire place kept it toasty, and the fridge and oven worked perfectly! If you're looking to get away from it all and disconnect from emails, facebook, etc then this is the place! Plus your hosts are awesome!!

My husband, dog and I just spent the three-day Columbus Day weekend at the Moose Mountain cabin. The location is fantastic – tucked away in the woods with nothing around you but quiet and beauty. The fall colors were spectacular and we spent hours just sitting on the deck and staring at the scenery! We hiked the surrounding trails – Bailey dog was thrilled to be able to run off-leash. We also explored the area by car one afternoon, going north to the Rangeley area and Height of Land, and also south to Bethel and the Sunday River area. All of it was beautiful, and the area scenery ranged from wooded areas to open farm land (we even saw some buffalo!). The cabin itself is beautiful and ‘solid’ – very well built! To shower, we did need to heat up our water but once that was done, it was fine. All in all it was a nice balance between off-grid (i.e. no electricity, so we listened to a lot of radio – the baseball playoffs to be exact!) and modern amenities, as there is a fridge, gas stove and gas lamps. We got to meet Brenda and Lance on our last day and they were great – very friendly! We hope to be able to make it back again and enjoy it during another season.

Great time!

September 10, 2014

We really enjoyed our short trip. Cabin was great! Pictures don't do the view nor the cabin justice. We hope to stay again, still on a quest to see a moose. Would love to be there in the winter, but our Toyota Avalon would not get very far;)

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

Allison, we provide a parking area at the bottom of the hill and are more than happy to shuttle guests to the cabin in our truck! Most times, the road is in good enough condition so this is not needed. Winter is a magical time!

Amazing!!

August 11, 2014

My husband and 2 dogs and myself stayed for a week in July. It was amazing! The view from the deck was so beautiful, and it's the same view from the bedroom. You literally open your eyes in the morning and are looking out a big picture window framing a beautiful mountain view. The cabin itself was perfect and had everything needed to make the stay comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking every day with the dogs. We saw moose, deer, rabbit, fox and a bear. It was a great vacation and was truly reenergizing. We will be back and we can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a quiet vacation with a comfortable cabin , endless trails, amazing scenery and where dogs are welcomed. Thank you!

Scenic Relaxing Honeymoon

July 30, 2014

We decided to stay here for a week for our honeymoon, and are glad we did! We stayed in the Moose Mountain cabin and it was great—comfortable, well put together, homey, etc. with amazing mountain views right out the window. The cabin has a lot of natural light, and at night you can see the stars very clearly if you step outside since there is no light pollution. The cabin is very well stocked with good books, games, and basic kitchen supplies as well as pans, plates, etc., and we were provided with ample drinking water for the week (we had purchased jugs of water ahead of time, not sure what to expect, and we didn't need them!). The cabin has gas lamps (no electricity), water for washing pumped from barrels on the roof, and a composting toilet, all of which took a second to figure out, but we quickly got used to them—they were well put together, clean, and accompanied by directions on how to use them. The shower water didn't heat up so we had to boil it, but it really was no trouble—the stove works well, and there are large tea pots provided for heating water when it is needed. There is also a refrigerator. The nearest grocery store is about 25 minutes away, so it's best to pick up what you need at the beginning of your stay but it's not a bad drive if you need to get there in the middle. Downtown Andover is also nearby (maybe 15 minutes away) and it has a small store where you can buy takeout food and some basic items, but we did not visit that store so we do not know what it's like. The cabin has one bed downstairs, and two upstairs along with a small mattress for little kids, so it can accommodate a couple or a family easily. There are a number of hiking trails around the cabin, and a map is provided for helping you to navigate them. We explored a few of them and they were quite beautiful; we encountered some little frogs along the way, and saw some moose tracks (but no moose). Brenda has some of her artwork on the walls of the cabin and it is spectacular—definitely worth a look, and she was happy to tell us about it! She and her husband were superb hosts, and made sure that we were taken care of. It was a challenge at first getting to the cabin, but we figured out the way pretty quickly. It's (literally) off the map but this is part of its charm. If you want to be in nature but would also like to be in a cozy cabin, we highly recommend this place. We plan on visiting again in the future.

Remote family getaway

July 13, 2014

What a visit we had a the Moose Mountain cabin! It was truly perfect for our family of five - two adults, two kids and our pooch. We had quite a long, but lovely hike to Devil's Den which was 3.7 miles from the cabin according our GPS. We arrived back to the cabin before sundown, and slept deeply and peacefully after viewing the "super moon" in the night sky. There's no better sleep than after a long walk, nestled in a comfy bed with a gentle breeze filling the room. We woke in the morning to the sound of rain on the roof, and enjoyed simply sitting; watching the fog and clouds kissing the mountainous skyline as the blue sky and sun danced into view. We will definitely return for a longer stay, and come prepared for long hikes. Thanks for a remote family getaway!

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the nice review, Dawn. It is hard to believe the hike to Devil's Den is that far! I will have to clock it on our ATV. Hope to have you back again soon!

Absolute Bliss !!!!!

April 2, 2014

My Boyfriend and I spent the most amazing week at moose mountain cabin !! From the moment we walked in the door we fell in love with the cabin and the surroundings. The cabin was clean, extremely cozy and equipped with everything we needed and much more !! Brenda & Lance were incredible hosts and attended to anything we needed during our stay. We spent the week in a state of utter bliss and happiness: cooking, napping , snowshoeing (snowshoes were provided), reading , playing games and snuggling by the fire. It was better then we could have imagined. We are hoping to make it a yearly vacation and cannot wait to get back :)

Wonderful escape

March 5, 2014

We arrived to a nice warm cabin as the stove was already lit. Settled in and relaxed for most of the first day. Dogs were in heaven and happy to be free of a leash! Plenty of wood and water supplied for our stay! You don't realize how much of those necessities you need this time of the year. We explored the mountain a little bit during the stay but did not go too far; we were afraid to come face to face with a snowmobile. Based on the map provided, there are many places we really want to explore this summer! Private waterfalls, water pools, caverns, canyons. We can't wait to get back!!!

Grammy Bee

Owner's reply:

So appreciative of the way the cabin was left! They even folded the dirty laundry! Such a refreshing difference from the last people at our other cabin who left a pile of filthy dishes in the sink. Most folks who prefer off grid are awesome, they more than make up for those rare lazy asses! Thank you Jeanne and Tony; love to have you back!

The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and accommodating. My Best Kept Secret

October 30, 2013

This has been our second trip to this property and just when I thought it couldn't get any better.....Well it did......BIG TIME! If your looking for a last minute escape from a hectic work life, or just want to get away from it all than this is the place of your dreams. Often when work gets a little crazy in the winter "as we all know it sometimes does" to ease my mind I just imagine my time at Camp Winona and the serenity and peacefulness it provided us with. (their other cabin shown on the right hand side of this page)This new camp is a beautiful hand crafted rustic cabbing perched on top of a beautiful secluded mountain. Your amazing hosts have provided you with a vast and endless amount of amenities for your trip. Your cabin has everything a chef as myself would need to cook a gourmet meal. We enjoyed a roasted beef tenderloin with root vegetables and several other amazing meals while we were there. From paper towels to a set of chef knives or even a nice book to read, Brenda and Lance have it waiting there for you. Our first sunrise on our first morning my sister as well as the 2 six year old children we had were astonished to see a female "cow" moose and her baby a "calf" stroll right in-front of the camp. Almost as if we were never even there. We have gained memories that i know will last a life time at this property and I would like to thank the owners for sharing this with us as well as the public. Thank-you Brenda and Lance for everything you do. This property provides something that I have found to be priceless and trust me you will not be disappointed! Thanks again for sharing Most Sincerely, Justin & Candice

Great escape!

October 9, 2013

Took my wife here for our 1st year anniversary and we had a great time! The Brenda and her husband have done a great job with this place. Moose Mountain is brand new and has all the luxuries you need to remain off the grid. We really enjoyed hiking all the trails around and just driving through the many miles of beautiful fall forest. I would highly recommend this cabin if you want something unique and special. Can't wait to return!

Picturesque cabin

September 29, 2013

This is a wonderfully designed and decorated cabin. It is charming and cozy. Large windows enabled us to appreciate the outstanding mountain that were visible even from the very comfortable double bed. The gas lights are very effective at illuminating the rooms. The gas refrigerator and stove work well. The cabin is thoroughly equipped. We appreciated sunsets and mountains from the very comfortable chairs on the spacious deck. Star-gazing from the back yard was spectacular. The composting bathroom is inside; it does not smell. A small fire in the wood stove quickly heated the cabin. Excellent hiking and canoeing possibilities are in the vicinity. Our hosts left a great bottle of wine to soothe our aching joints after a hike. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply:

Our very first guests at Moose Mountain Cabin! So glad all of our hard work is appreciated. We try to set up our non electric cabins for comfort yet simplicity. And as if we were to live there. Hope to have you back soon Alice and Jeff!
