Description of the Annapolis vacation home rental
You'll love the stunning 180-degree view of the South River, just off the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis. The location is incredible. Just six miles from Annapolis and the United States Naval Academy. The home is 15 miles from Baltimore/Washington International Airport and 40 minutes to Washington, D.C. (15 miles to the nearest Metro stop). The home feels so secluded yet it is just minutes away from great restaurants, shopping and marinas. The house is in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, perfect for evening strolls and morning walks. You immediately forget how close you are to so many major conveniences, Route 50 and 97.

The large entertainment deck overlooks the South River (great for viewing Annapolis fireworks). It's perfect for cookouts, relaxing with a good book and savoring your morning coffee. Stairs lead down to your own private pier and boat lift. You'll love crabbing off the pier, swimming, sunbathing or just watching the abundant waterfowl. A community boat launch is also available as is a community beach and pier.

The house is beautifully decorated with hardwood floors, open architecture and waterviews from the livingroom/kitchen and master bedroom. Take a five minute walk or boat ride to Mike's and enjoy steamed crabs and an ice cold beer from the outside deck.

This vacation get-away is perfect for Naval Academy football game weekends, year-round vacations, family reunions and even serves as a quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.

Area Information
There are few parts of the country with so many wonderful things to do so close at hand. Of course, there is Annapolis, with the Maryland State Capitol, the U.S. Naval Academy, Eastport, street after street of historic homes and the lovely, scenic city harbor. The Chesapeake Bay lifestyle is renown for boating, fishing, crabbing, swimming, waterskiing, jetskiing and just relaxing with friends and family with cold beverages and a bushel of steamed crabs. Thomas Point Park and Quiet Waters Park offer more family fun featuring unsurpassed views of the Bay.

Day trips to Washington, D.C., are easy to do, and visitors there are rewarded with so many national museums, monuments and historical attractions which, in most cases, are free. Baltimore is another easy day trip, with the Inner Harbor, Fells Point, Little Italy, and plenty of Orioles and Ravens game action. Drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and head for the beaches of Maryland and Delaware, which are closer than 100 miles away.

You'll run out of time before you run out of things to do.

Look no further....Absolutely Perfect

Stayed here Columbus Day weekend. Loved loved loved it. Wish we could have stayed the week...or longer. The views of the river and the boats sailing by were divine. We did go to Annapolis , a short drive away. It was nice enough but I couldn't wait to get back to our haven near the city. It was so nice to see that areas like this one still exist and that they haven't all been plowed over and replaced by huge new places. The house itself has everything you need. We ate dinners out but enjoyed breakfasts with a view. Plenty of room, comfy beds and living areas , decks all around.

Vacation in Annapolis staying on the Bay in Annapo

November 5, 2013

We, my 22 year old daughter and two teenage boys stay at this beautiful cottage on the South River just outside of Annapolis. The cottage was beutiful with 3 well furnished bedrooms. Traveling by water to Annapolis takes a little longer but the views are beautiful and visiting Annapolis by water gives you access to many restaurants and many other sights like the Naval Academy, the Maritime Museum, shopping, etc. It's a whole New dimension of sight seeing. The cottage had a great kitchen with modern appliances. Driving to both Annapolis and Baltimore is a snap from this location. Cable tv and a cozy living area made the quiet time enjoyable.

Owner's reply:

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for the nice remarks!

Beautiful home, great views

August 29, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay here. The home was lovely and great location with very easy access to downtown Annapolis. The best part however was the view from the back of the house - right on the water! We enjoyed watching the boats (quietly :) ) go by, looking for crabs off of the dock and watching the family of deer who visited us near daily. The entrances to the house are not handicap accessible, but if that isn't a factor for you I'd highly recommend it! Overall, it's beautiful and very peaceful. Enjoy!

Owner's reply:

Thanks Wendy. It was a pleasure to have you.

We found this house on your internet site. All of the pictures and descriptions (which were very accurate) enticed us to inquire. Our interactions with the owner sealed the deal. Here is part of the letter we sent to the owner upon our return home... Our stay at your house could not have been any better... although it could have been longer! :D What a great house to use as a home base while exploring such a wonderful part of the U.S. Your email detailing the local area was excellent, went with us and was in use most of the time! We can very much see your attraction to this area and desires to return there! About the only thing we didn't get a chance to do was to cook the crabs we caught off of your dock... just ran out of time so they are still swimming in the bay! Although it was very hot (over 100) the first day, the weather cooperated throughout the week! Our highlights include (in no particular order): renting kayaks at Quiet Waters and a jet ski from Suntime Rentals in Edgewater; spent a day at Rehoboth Beach and another at Ocean City (MD) with a side excursion to Assateague Island to see the ponies; we walked Main Street in downtown Annapolis and ate Miss Peggy's crab cakes at Galway Bay (per your recommendation... they were fantastic); we took a boat tour of Washington D.C. and ate at the Green Turtle in Chinatown and also visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore (this was the only rainy day which worked nicely for this excursion)! One of the highlights very much worth noting was meeting your wonderful neighbors. They were fantastic people to meet and made us feel very welcome! We also strolled the neighborhood a few times and everyone we met along the way were very nice. Thank you again for the opportunity to share your house. It will certainly be part of the bank of very fond memories we will take with us for the rest of our lives!

Quiet, spacious, sunny house. Beautiful view of the water. Lots of rabbits and birds. Nice restaurants in St. Michaels. We enjoyed our stay, despite the 100 degree heat.

Outstanding retreat

July 17, 2008

Stunning views, privacy, well situtated along the South River/Chesapeake Bay, immaculately maintained (with all the amenities) and its proximity to activities in Annapolis, Maryland's Eastern Shore, Baltimore and Washington DC made our summer stay at this property one of the best experiences we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

"We enjoyed our stay at your home very much. In fact, after we left the home, we were in a hotel in downtown Annapolis for another four nights for a wedding, and we were sorry that we didn't stay the whole time at the house. It was so comfortable and relaxing. We would certainly consider staying there again at some point in the future for a family get together since (except for us in California) the rest of my family is on the East Coast, and Annapolis is within a few hours for all of them." - Dave

"We did have a wonderful time at the house and signed the guest book in the house. The view is spectacular from the deck and several of us "early birds" were up by 6 a.m. to see the sun rise. Tuesday and Wednesday the sunrises were unbelievable. I think you found a great property there, and hopefully, renters will care for it and keep it nice. If we plan another trip to Annapolis, we will definitely rent your house. We just loved it and felt so happy we had found it." -Barb

"Your cottage is sooooo cute. We had a great time with another family that came along with us. We brought the boat as well. Took a trip into Annapolis (by boat and by car) and did some skiiing and tubing right in front of your house. It was nice to get away from the rat race for a couple of days." -Vicki

"Our friends and Arlee and I very much enjoyed your Annapolis house! What a lovely view and wonderful accommodations." - Tricia

"We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. You really have a beautiful place, excellent location and really well kept. We would be very happy to return some time!" Johanna and Patrick

"The stay was wonderful, and your home helped to make the trip more comfortable for all. Although we did not spend a lot of time there most days, it was great to come home to such an inviting place on the river. We had great weather, and even the rain the last three days was a welcome. We were not quite prepared for the smaller bedroom downstairs and the double bed was a little difficult for the couple that stayed in there, but other than that it was fabulous. We loved the time on the deck, and the upstairs bedroom with the view was an amazing setting. Your directions for everything were perfect. We will keep this in mind for the future when we are on the east coast." -Cliff

"We had a great weekend in Annapolis. Your home on the river is very comfortable as well as beautiful. We had pertfect weather; cool but sunny. We went on an historical house tour Saturday evening in West Annapolis which was very interesting. Thanks again." -Vicki

"Weather was gorgeous - we really enjoyed just lazing around on the deck watching the water and enjoying the peace and quiet! Thanks for sharing your home with us." -Connie

"Our stay was great! We loved the house. Thanks for helping us have a happy reunion." -Dee

"I just want to thank you for letting us rent your house in Maryland. It was a beautiful place. We really enjoyed staying there. It was great that you have the place well equipped with anything we might need during our stay. I also emjoyed the view overlooking the river, especially in the morning when the sun was coming up. It was amazing. If we are ever in need of a place to stay in Maryland, I will sure give you a call." - Debbie

"I just wanted to tell you that we loved your house and had a very relaxing time! What wonderful views and that neighborhood is just precious. I can see why you might be thinking of retiring there. Thanks again and we would love to come back and visit again. We are on the east coast about every three months, and your place was a nice way of visiting friends from Baltimore without having to go there." -Lorraine

"It was Great!!! The house was perfect for our family! It rained almost the entire week, but it didnt matter as we were not cooped up in some hotel room but comfortable in your home. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be able to stay again next time we return to Maryland." -Denise
