Description of the Apollo Beach vacation home rental
This 2000 sq/ft home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, dining room, and family room. You can see the water from every room including the kitchen. The screened-in lanai is 12' X 35' and provides a great place to lounge and view the water. We have just completed a "face lift" of the house inside and out so everything looks like new. There are ceiling fans in the family room, dining room, lanai, kitchen, and each bedroom. All amenities are included such as high speed wireless internet, cable TV, appliances, dishes, linens, etc. All you need to bring are your personal items.

The large dock on a deep-water canal will accommodate your 50' yacht and the lift will handle your fishing boat. There are no bridges to the Gulf of Mexico and the fishing is the best in the Tampa area. Our next-door neighbor is a fishing guide and he will take you to the best spots in Tampa Bay.

We enjoyed very much our stay at this house. It was really our first long term Florida vacation. The water was nearby and the house opened to the lanai for the true Florida feel.

Nice house-Great Location

May 10, 2010

We stayed Jan thru April & loved the house and the location. The house sits on a canal which feeds into Tampa Bay--great for fishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kind of sea life is in the canal?
A: There are several varieties of fish like snook, jacks, snapper, spade fish & cat fish. Bottlenose dolphin, rays, and manatees visit occasionally.
Q: What is the most popular attraction nearby?
A: The manatee viewing facility at Big Bend Power Plant. Numerous manatees congregate in the warmer water runoff in the winter. The warm water also attracks numbers of large tarpon and other fish which are clearly visible from observation platform. There are also nature walks, manatee displays and a gift shop on premises.
Q: Are there good restaurants nearby?
A: There several excellent restaurants in the local area. Circles Restaurant at Lands End Marina is one of the highest rated in Apollo Beach with a great waterfront view. Popi's in Ruskin offers "down home" cooking with low prices and large menu.
Q: What is the winter climate in Apollo Beach?
A: The winter climate is normally dry with predominantly sunny skies. Day time temps are normally in the 70's (F) and nighttime temps are 50s or 60s. The sunny days get interrupted periodically by cold fronts that sweep down from the north and they cool things down for a day or two. Temps may drop into the 40's or 50's, but that usually only lasts for one day. Rain may accompany these cold fronts, but "all day rains" are rare. Since Apollo Beach is surrounded by water the water buffers the low temps and we stay warmer than the inland local areas.
Q: How is the fishing in Tampa Bay?
A: The fishing is excellent in this area. The southeastern shore of Tampa Bay is a prolific estuary for a large variety of fish including snook, snapper, red fish, sea trout, yellow jacks, grouper, spanish mackeral, and sheepshead. Our neighbor is a charter fisherman and knows all the best spots.
