About Goodyear

Located just west of Phoenix, Arizona, Goodyear is a charming suburb with attractions and fun for visitors of all ages. Whether it’s golfing the lush greens that starkly contrast the surrounding desert landscape, or exploring a nearby air conditioned museum, this city has much to offer. When planning your trip, search for Goodyear vacation rentals that suit all of your travel needs for the ultimate vacation.

Goodyear is busiest from December to March, when the weather is comfortable and pleasant. Low season in Goodyear spans the months of June through September. This is when temperatures are hot and often reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. This period is also monsoon season, when humidity and sporadic showers are prominent.

Like most places in Arizona, you will need a car to get around Goodyear and you can easily rent one at the nearby airports. The most convenient one to fly into is Phoenix Goodyear Airport, but Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is also not too far. If you’re stuck without access to a car, Goodyear is served by the western ends of several Valley Metro Bus routes.

Things to Do

When staying in Goodyear vacation rentals, you’ll never be far from popular attractions. For outdoor fun, visit Estrella Mountain Regional Park or White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Both have many trails that are ideal for mountain-biking, horseback riding or hiking. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic and various water activities at both parks.

Kids will enjoy a trip to the nearby Children’s Museum of Phoenix or the Arizona Science Center for lots of interesting exhibits. The manmade Mystery Castle is also within driving distance and worth seeing. It’s listed in the Arizona Historic Register and is made of a variety of materials, including stone, adobe, automobile parts and telephone poles.

Other activities to consider include a game of golf at one of the many golf courses in the area, such as Estrella Mountain Ranch Golf Club and Palm Valley Golf Club, catching a baseball game at the Goodyear Ballpark, or shopping at The Market at Estrella Falls.

While choosing from the variety of Goodyear vacation rentals, plan your trip around some of the city’s annual and seasonal events held throughout the year. In July, you might catch the spectacular fireworks show to celebrate the Fourth of July. The annual Ballet Under the Stars is held in September when community members gather up lawn chairs and blankets and bring them to the North Lake Amphitheater to watch dancing on an outdoor stage. In November, Chalk Art in the Park attracts families to Goodyear Community Park for a day of artful expression through the use of sidewalk chalk.
Featuring miles of desert landscape amidst the beautiful Estrella Mountains, Goodyear is the perfect destination for those looking to relax but still be within reach of the big city. Goodyear vacation rentals provide fabulous amenities like high-end kitchens and refreshing pools, and are sure to make your stay memorable.
