Description from manager

This beautifully converted stable block provides spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to six people whilst still retaining many of its period features. As part of a conversion of a former stable block this property is an attractive, mid terrace house situated on a quiet lane in the centre of Armathwaite. The cottage has been lovingly restored and decorated to a high standard throughout, in order to provide warm welcoming accommodation. The quality furnishings and minimal, elegant styling complement the period features of the property, including original beams, exposed sandstone walls and a wood burning stove. The village of Armathwaite itself provides an array of interesting walks and the essential amenities of a shop and two village pubs. Other activities throughout the area are within easy driving distance too.

Amenities: User-friendly central heating & hot water with woodburner in sitting room. Electric double oven with grill, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV, DVD, radio/CD player, WiFi, small library of books/games. Fuel, power & starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Highchair & stairgate available. Roadside parking. Small patio area in shared courtyard with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Post Office, shop & pub 2 mins walk.

Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: Ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley and the lovely coastline of the Solway Firth, Armathwaite is an attractive, unspoiled rural village. This charming settlement has two old pubs - both with popular restaurants - a post office and a traditional village shop. The River Eden runs through the centre of the village itself whilst the surrounding area is renowned for its excellent salmon fishing, walking, canoeing and climbing. The impressive Armathwaite Castle is a four-storey Pele Tower, and the 15th Century Church provides fine examples of stained glass windows. The Eden Gorge, situated between Lazonby and Armathwaite, is amongst Cumbria's best-kept secrets making it a quiet day out away from the tourists. Penrith hosts the Rheged Discovery Centre which gives visitors a chance to see the largest grass covered building in the country whilst Dalemain Historic House - featured in a television production of Jane Eyre – is also within easy driving distance.
