Description from manager
Nestled in the pastoral countryside, this historic farmhouse, constructed in 1875, offers a much needed escape from the fast-paced routines that characterize your normal everyday life. Marrying old world charm with contemporary style, the interior embraces retro touches like the wood paneling and original hardwood flooring and complements them with boho bedding, distressed rugs, and milk white wainscoting on the ceiling. The spacious and chic interior promises comfort and convenience without sacrificing Appalachian charm. In the morning, embrace the sweet and slow way of country living by sleeping in and leisurely wandering out onto the covered front porch to sip your morning coffee in the rocking chairs while looking out at the towering mountain peaks and vast fields just ahead.
After coffee, go back inside to craft a delicious breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and fresh fruit to enjoy on the breezy open air patio before heading into Asheville just 15 minutes away. With an endless supply of activities and adventures to enjoy, you can explore the eccentric River Arts District home to 200+ working studios filled with pottery, painting, glassmaking, metalwork, and more, the bustling downtown area home to Art Deco architecture and award-winning restaurants, cafes, and breweries, and the South Asheville area home to the beautiful North Carolina Arboretum and iconic Biltmore Estate and adjacent community of Biltmore Forest with upscale boutiques and speciality shops.
For those looking for outdoor adventure, take a ride on “America’s Favorite Drive,” the Blue Ridge Parkway, and stop to hike at one of the many mileposts along the way. Craven Gap Trail (less than 15 minutes from Natural Remedy) is part of a famous stretch of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail that runs across the state of North Carolina. While this particular hike does not offer any views, it does provide a nice introduction to the lush forests and mountain scenery that makes WNC one of the most beautiful places to explore. Another popular hike along the parkway that’s best enjoyed during the warmer months is Sliding Rock.
This beloved natural waterfall in Pisgah National Forest allows you to cool down from the summer heat by sliding down a 60 foot sloping boulder into an eight-foot deep pool of refreshing mountain water. While the summer offers up plenty of summer blooms and opportunities to swim, the fall is also an ideal time to drive along the parkway and hike, as you’ll be privy to vibrant color changing foliage and crisp cool weather. Luckily, the fun doesn’t stop in the colder winter months either. Just under 45 minutes away, you’ll find Wolf Ridge Ski Resort where you can spend the day skiing, snow tubing, and ice skating atop the magical snow-covered landscape and resting in between by the cozy fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate inside the lodge.
After a day chock full of whatever seasonal adventures you choose, return home in the late afternoon and lounge beneath the trees in the hammock with a glass of sweet iced tea to take a quick nap or read a few chapters of your favorite book while soaking up the dappled bits of sunshine that peak through the shady leaves. As evening falls, enjoy the vivid sunset and linger to watch the moon rise and give way to the clear and unobstructed skies primed for stargazing.
There’s no better remedy than a relaxing retreat, and as its name suggests, Natural Remedy will melt your worries and restore you with its tranquil and idyllic atmosphere set against the backdrop of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains!
