In Western North Carolina you'll find an eclectic group of people from movie stars to mountain folk. And our town is as diverse as its residents. Our area is the back drop to many movies over the years--our favorite is The Last of the Mohicans staring Daniel Day-Lewis with the famous scenes on the cliffs overlooking the 404 foot waterfall filmed at our local Chimney Rock.
What we love about these Smokey Mountains is its wealth of activities. We experience a gentle four seasons here that makes any time of year perfect for a visit. Just outside the gates of the Biltmore House is Biltmore Village. These quaint buildings and streets have enchanting shops and restaurants to delight you. Our favorite is The New Morning Gallery/Bellagio, the largest handcrafted gallery in the Eastern United States.

Reviews for this vacation chalet rental in Asheville, North Carolina
Ann Marie Navar
needs updating, beautiful home
October 9, 2012
The home is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom A frame house. It is a 15-20 minute drive into downtown Asheville, in Weaverville. The property is secluded, with lots of trees and a large yard, (note: no mountain view.) We enjoyed sitting on the large front porch and playing horseshoes. There is a hot tub that comfortably fits 6 adults on the back porch and a private pool (closed due to the end of the summer). The house itself needs some updating, with older carpets, linoleum floors, and slightly weathered furniture. However, for 8 adults having a getaway weekend it served our purposes perfectly. It had a large kitchen and grill we were able to use to cook dinners, a large dining room table we all fit around, and enough lounging space in the living room for 5 large men to watch sports comfortably all evening long. The location is close to the blue ridge parkway and some lovely hiking. Unbeatable for the price, esp in the summer given its pool!
The View Chalet is beauty that isn't just skin deep. Its comfort sinks deep into you. The best house we have ever stayed in! Thank you for thinking of everything someone could need. We loved the firepit & hot tub.
If you are looking for the greatest breakfast place on the planet try Sunny Point in West Asheville. And 12 Bones BBQ just 2 minutes away was such an unexpected treat. We didn't do a lot, but a great easy hike to do is Hooker Falls in DuPont State Forest. Swimming at the base of falls was fantastic! It really was not that cold and so worth it for the views while swimming.
Thank you again for proving such a wonderful vacation home. We hope to come stay again.

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home with such amazing views! We had such a nice time visiting with our daughter and her family. They live in Virginia & us in Mississippi....it was a perfect place to meet up and visit.
We were all so impressed with the attention to details that was here. This is by far the best vacation home we have stayed in. We are planning to come back & stay in your rental homes again.

Thank you so much for having us this week! We came for our grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary. 7 people in our group in total. There was really something for everyone & we all felt right at home. We cooked dinner every night which was awesome but we went out for lunch most days,,,12 Bones BBQ MUST DO! (Especially the Ribs & Baked Beans.)
We enjoyed the firepit a couple nights. We made smores with Reeses Cups instead of Hershey Bars. Life Changing!
We tried many attractions like the Biltmore, Chimney Rock and zipline tours. One of the best attractions was the incredible views from your decks! Sad we have to leave tomorrow! Thanks again!
- Jenn, Delray Beach, FL
Thank you for sharing your wonderful home (perfect location with an easy drive to area activities) with us. Love the VIEWS! We hate to leave. Everything has been just perfect & we have wanted for nothing. Comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen & cozy blankets to use as we curled up to watch movies from your amazing collection.
We did lots of exploring: Dupont State Forest & Pisgah State Forest, Chimney Rock, the Biltmore House, the Blue Ridge Parkway up to Mt. Mitchell (much cooler all the way up there!), white water rafting, the Nature Center, Fun Depot, Blowing Rock in Boone, ziplining & more! We had great meals at Tupelo Honey Café, Zambras, 12 Bones BBQ & Acropolis Pizza & Twisted Crepe downtown.
We hope to make a return visit!

"Comfort with million dollar views."
Six of us were on a motorcycle vacation. The home was fabulous. There was plenty of room, and three full baths. After a day of sightseeing on the bikes, it was great to relax on one of the decks overlooking the Blue Ridge. Highly recommended.
Mike, Wirtz, VA
Refreshing!! Great reunion w/son and family from Utah!
The views, evenings cooking out and relaxing on the decks, very quiet and peaceful. Stephanie or Robert were always available to answer any questions. Very convenient to shopping, dining, attractions, airport, etc. There is a new, state-of-the art YMCA within 10 minutes from the house, with fitness center, swimming pool, indoor track with free short-term visitor membership. We will definitely return if circumstances permit. First class property and service!

"A home away from home"
We loved the View Chalet! It has everything you possibly need and the location was perfect. Having morning coffee on the deck watching the sun rise behind the mountains with the morning mist was fabulous. It was so close to all the attractions and yet secluded. We did The Biltmore, downtown asheville, golfed, zip lined, climbed Mt. Mitchell and a lot more. It is the perfect vacation spot, and the home was very well equipped and the rental process was the easiest ever. At the end of the day we loved the peace and quiet and relaxed in the great hot tub. It's a beautiful place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the asheville area. Thank you for sharing your home.

"Serenity and Luxury!"
We needed a place to spend Christmas in asheville, and we got so lucky that this rental was still available. It was perfect for us in every way. We wanted peaceful surroundings & good mountain views and it definitely had that! The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were gorgeous. We didn't want to stay too far out of town and this location was very convenient- only 5-10 minutes to restaurants and grocery stores, 15 minutes to downtown, and very close to the airport and the interstate, but it felt like we were out in the country. With 3 stories and 4 bedrooms there was plenty of space for everybody to spread out and relax, and even the two living rooms with sofabeds were very cozy. All the beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were excellent quality, and there were plenty of Tv's and lots of movies available to watch. The hot tub was a fun feature. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and everything in the entire house was tastefully decorated and so clean! It felt like home and was a wonderful getaway. I would definitely like to stay here again and would recommend it to anybody.

"Outstanding comfort, view and value in asheville area"
The View Chalet was a wonderful find for us, as at the last minute we searched for lodging in the asheville area. Everything about the rental experience was easy and excellent, from top to bottom. The reservation, check-in and close out processes are easy and well documented. The home is fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable furnishings (amazingly comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen, gas grill, hot tub, hammock, etc.), plenty of space, lots of decks, fabulous views ... we couldn't have asked for more. The owners thoughts of everything, providing an amazing array of information about the house, its amenities, the surrounding area, restaurants, leisure activities. We had a great time and definitely plan to rent this again.
- The Marinshaw Family, Chapel Hill, NC
"Awesome!" A wonderful home to stay in while in asheville, NC. Superb for kids---toys to play with, playground with slide, swing, etc. and even a play room. There was even a kitty who came by each day to chat with the kids. And at night there were the lightning bugs. Everything was in tip top shape and had everything we needed. Terrific view and plenty of room to sit around on the decks to enjoy it!
- Kaye & Robert, Centennial, CO
We are a bunch of old skiers that decided to replace the ski trip with a trip to Asheville this year. This was a perfect place for a reunion. Enjoyed drinks and views on the deck, soaking in the hot tub and watching March Madness on the big screen. We are also mountain bikers and there is no better challenge than climbing the 500' back up to the house after a bike trip to the valley.
- Gary, Los Angeles, CA
We enjoyed the View Chalet very much, as it provided perfectly for a family reunion with members of all ages - the children appreciated the outdoor playground, all the toys, books, and amenities (high chair, toy room, pack n play, etc). The parents enjoyed the movie selection, perfectly appointed kitchen (waffles were a real hit!), hot tub and very comfortable beds. The grandparents especially loved sitting in front of the fireplace with beautiful views out all the windows, watching the sunlight on the trees, on the snow, and reflected in the happy faces of the whole brood!
- Lisa & Chris, Miami, FL
What an amazing view! This home is everything you could want in a vacation rental and more! From the view, the location, the decor and the layout...there is nothing lacking in this home! It is spacious with spectacular views from every window! The professional way it is decorated is simply beyond words. It could well be featured in a designer's magazine. The furnishings are so detailed and create such a warm and inviting retreat! Stephanie was extremely kind to rent from, answering all questions thoroughly. There is a book with helpful information in the home that offers restaurant recommendations, things to do etc. The linens, towels and bedding are absolutely five star grade. The kitchen is beyond well equipped! It rates a 10! Hope to book again for a stay. It is a beautiful and well maintained home!
-Deborah, South Carolina
We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was well stocked. It lacked nothing. We've stayed a lot of places, but I do believe this was the best. We had plenty of pillows, throws, and comfort!! We loved the decor and the furnishings. Felt like home! You have made our stay here a very pleasant one. This was our 10th anniversary and we enjoyed every minute. Thanks for making our stay a great one.
Darrell & Ranae Waldrip GA
We spent a wondrous Christmas at the View Chalet. As soon as we opened the door to the View, we went "ahhhh" - what a wonderland of "eye candy" to feast upon. We had 5 grand children in our party and the playroom was a treasure trove beyond words - kept them busy 24/7! The sleeping arrangements were perfect - our hostess had everything we would or could possibly need. Our grown children had upstairs with their 20 month old boy & girl. The pillow top beds were luxurious!
Besides the kitchen, the huge TV, the BBQ, hot tub, playground, the best thing of all was the view of the Smokies in the morning and at night especially at sunset. I can imagine how amazing all the seasons would look from this vantage point! The Biltmore was majestic at Christmas, Asheville Mall was terrific for a couple of 30 somethings, and the Ingles & Earth Fare grocery stores were great. For whoever follows us, you have a treat in store!
- The Cawdery family - NY & NC
"The View" does not adequately describe this home. It should be described as your DREAM HOME AWAY FROM YOUR HOME! Our stay was fantastic. Sunny days with rain cooling us down in the early evening. We have been coming to Asheville every 4 months for the last 2 years and have stayed at many houses trying to determine where we want to live in Asheville. This has to be the best house yet. We love the views! The hills are alive with beauty. We brought our granddaughter with us and she loved the downstairs "stuffed animal zoo and farm." She wanted to go to bed early just to be in that room! Stephanie & Robert have done the impossible! The house is beautiful and we did not want for anything. The hot tub made the cool evenings wonderful and made the VIEWS even more enjoyable.
Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this "DREAM HOME AWAY FROM YOUR HOME!"
- The Lester Family, IL
We cannot believe the impeccable design & attention to detail in this home. Stephanie has made it relaxing, peaceful & the most comfortable vacation we have ever been on. 10 STAR Accommodation in our opinion & we would come back in a minute! We thank you for making this birthday & celebration of life such a pleasant wonderful experience. You have the TOUCH! Peace to you and all that come. The view and solitude are a healing experience. Thank you!
- The Carlsons, FL
What a fabulous week. We had our entire family from across the country meet us here. Your house was filled with love, laughs and life for a week. Everyone loved the beds, the soft blankets, the surround sound, the numerous TVs, the massage chair (got to get one of our own!), the great kitchen cookware, the swings, and the VIEW! Your home is beautifully decorated and supplied with every need we could imagine. Thank you!
- The Ogletrees CA, NY, FL, NM
The View Chalet was absolutely wonderful! The decor was so complete and beautiful to be in a vacation home rental. How luxurious! In the past when coming to Asheville, my husband and I frequented Bed & Breakfasts. The more square footage and the more beautiful the bathrooms, the better we liked it. But we still felt like something was missing. Upon looking at the Internet and browsing for hours upon hours, I came upon your Asheville Vacation Homes site and what a wonderful experience. The kitchen amenities are excellent even with a gourmet cook as a husband. The beautiful bedding, the wonderful mattresses, the plush towels, every attention to detail, just so appreciated! In the past we have rented vacation homes and nothing compares to this. Thank you Stephanie and Robert! You two have nailed what people who are looking for an escape and who need rest and relaxation...we left feeling so refreshed. We will be back. Can't wait to stay in the other vacation homes that you own!
- Bill & Barb, WV
The View is spectacular!!! Early morning & late afternoon porch sitting provided wonderful opportunities for relaxing. The house was exceptionally clean, very comfortable and nothing is left out. We loved the location of the house with easy access to everything! We loved Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, Chimney Rock, Trout farm, Mt. Pisgah. Don't miss the Gem & Mineral Museum in Hendersonville...our grandkids love it (ages 7, 8 & 10). Asheville & Hendersonville are great towns to explore.
- Linda & Paul, Austin TX
The View Chalet is amazing...now I see where the name comes from. So beautiful, peaceful and private & a perfect romantic getaway for two. Now we will return with our children and I know they will love it. So many things to explore! We loved the bed, I thought ours was comfortable at home but this is better! The kitchen had everything a cook would need! This home has true charm and attention to every detail. You have done an amazing job. Less than 2 weeks and we will be back. Can't wait. Thank you so much.
- Linda & Scott, Clearwater, FL
We can't believe our spring break family trip to the NC mountains is over! Our week here at the View few by WAY TOO FAST! The weather has been awesome, the sky was Carolina blue, the sun was shining and the mountain air was refreshing. This is our 3rd time staying in one of your homes - our first time at the View. We love it - the kids cannot wait to come back again. Our 5 and 7 year olds loved the playroom and the outdoor playground and are ready to move in!
Although I lived in NC for 10 years, we've been to the mountains numerous times, we had never done the Biltmore - WOW - IMPRESSIVE! Chimney Rock Park never gets old, nor does the DuPont Forest and its numerous waterfalls (love Triple Falls!) and the NC Arboretum. The hot tub was a great way to end each day. Absolutely everything we could ever have wanted was here to make our stay comfortable. We've never experienced such comfortable beds. The views are out of this world! This home feels like home - well done!
- The Alston Family, St Augustine, FL
Your home was the perfect location for our family Thanksgiving celebration. We chose it for the beautiful views, the playroom & play yard and the proximity to airport, Asheville downtown and Chimney Rock hiking. You are great innkeepers - proving for your guests' comfort. Most of our eating was done here at the house. This has been by far our favorite house we've rented - the fifth. Thanks for everything!
- The Hansen family - KS, GA, NY, WV
The View Chalet was much more than we had hoped for. The house was AWESOME, the views FANTASTIC. The effort that was put into this place to make us feel so special is amazing. Life is Good! And the View made this vacation extra special. Thanks!
