Description of the Asheville vacation home rental
The newly constructed lookout, situated atop the ridgeline of Sunrise Mountain, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the valley of Spring Creek, North Carolina. The wrap-around deck and numerous windows offer countless vantage points of the scenery.  The sunrise over Duckett Top can be especially spectacular.

The lookout has a private and remote setting that is ideal for any occasion, yet is easily accessible. We are only 30 miles from Asheville, 22 miles from Waynesville, and 13 miles from Hot Springs all on state highways.

Being so far from the city offers plenty of opportunities to see the wildlife and breathe the crisp mountain air. Common visitors to the cabin include turkey, deer, coyote, bobcat, and fox. If you're lucky, you might see a bear or mountain lion. Stargazing on a clear night can also be spectacular since the glow of city lights is miles away.

Area Information
The Lookout is located on a mountain overlooking beautiful Spring Creek Valley. It near the Appalachian Trail, trout fishing on Spring creek, Hot Springs, and other attractions.

Max Patch: The "Patch" is one of the most spectacular balds in the southeast. This 4,629' summit offers striking landscapes during all seasons of the year. Whether you're up for a short hike, picnic, flying a kite, or stargazing, this is the place to go!

Duckett Top Fire Tower: Just a short drive to the east, the trailhead can be accessed off Max Patch Road along the Tennessee border.
Although this fire tower is no longer in service, it still offers some of the best views around. The tower can be seen from the cabin 3 miles due east, and can be accessed via a long hike from Troublesome Gap or Hwy 63.
Hike to Duckett Top and discover why this is such a spectacular find.
