Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Asheville, North Carolina

Unfortunately, I attempted several times to contact little big house but never heard back regarding the availability. I had stayed in the past and the calendar continued to state that nov 7-9 was available. I was disappointed not to hear back regarding the property.
November 3, 2014
My fiance and I stayed here for the weekend with our dog, Charlotte. It was nothing short of amazing. The apartment was so clean and cozy and the owner made sure that we had everything we needed. Everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back!!

Little Big House stay
October 29, 2014
We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to give the Little Big House a try. The homeowner is so friendly and truly wanted us to have the best experience possible. She was an amazing host with great restaurant suggestions as well. From the fresh flowers to the gas logs in the living room, it was perfect and oh so cozy. It's also very close to downtown and all of the fun things to do in Asheville, NC. If you're considering staying here, do it! You won't regret it. The Little Big House met our needs perfectly. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!
Great location and accomdations
October 11, 2014
Great location and within walking distance to downtown Ashville, NCU, forest, and a very nice paved walking path along a creek. We had two larger dogs and walking them was convenient as was the small yard in front of this basement apartment. Word of warning, the neighbors are very grouchy, watch you like a hawk to make sure you don't touch their grass or driveway or have a pet poop on their grass. Also it is a very old home and though lovely, not well insulated against the sounds upstairs. The owner is very nice and the accommodations include a washer and dryer.
Hunting for House
September 29, 2014
I stayed at the charming Little-Big House for a week while looking at houses in order to purchase. It was very clean and comfortable and so convenient, especially with the little kitchen. The location is central and anywhere I wanted to go was just a short distance - what a pleasant surprise. I would definitely plan to stay again.
Very cozy and close to downtown
September 18, 2014
Cozy apartment on the lower level with your own entrance, outdoor hammock, porch, and patio furniture. Allows pets and it's very close to downtown. Andrea is very hospitable and informative on where to eat and hang-out. We really enjoyed our stay here, much better than a hotel! Only reason I could't give 5* is because of the A/C, It's right by the head of the bed and if it doesn't run during the warmer times, it get's kind of stuffy in the apartment. Would I stay here again or recommend this place to others, yes!
September 12, 2014
My Daughter and I spent two nights at the property. We found Andrea to be a very thoughtful and accommodating host. The apartment is very clean and well organized, the neighbor hood is very quiet, yet, close to downtown and many great places to eat. We really enjoyed our time here and in Asheville.
night noise, mildew
August 26, 2014
the owner made it impossible to sleep 2 nights. the apt. smelled mildewy, I'm sad to report this, but caution, the owner sleeps with the tv on, bring ear plugs, and maybe nose plugs if you stay

This was the perfect spot for me - close enough to the action of downtown, but not in the middle of everything so it was a peaceful and quiet retreat when I needed to relax after a long day. Andrea was very accommodating, my dog and I felt right at home. I will definitely return and hope to stay longer!
The Little Big House - Asheville, NC
July 31, 2014
The apartment is cozy and charming with a vintage vibe. The kitchen and bathroom is updated and new. Green cleaning supplies in the kitchen. New and fresh towels in the kitchen and bathroom. It is very tidy and clean. The location is excellent. The Botanical Gardens is literally right around the corner. Downtown is only about ten minutes away. The outside porch with chairs and hammock are relaxing and delightful. Andrea had updated magazines and information about the area available. I also enjoyed all of her suggestions. Andrea always had a tiki torch and tea lights lit for me when I came in at night. There were fresh flowers all over the apartment. I really liked all the extra touches. I enjoyed it so much I stayed two more days. Best of all the price was excellent! I am looking forward to my next visit. Tip: If your GPS does not pick up her street put in the street before Hillsdale.

Cozy place to chill
June 20, 2014
We stayed for at the Little-Big House for a long weekend. Great location, convenient to downtown, quiet neighborhood but close to highways for getting anywhere and everywhere around Asheville. As my son commented: "This place is nice and homey."
June 2, 2014
I found this rental for a weekend away around Valentine's Day. It snowed that weekend up in the mountains and Andrea allowed me to pick a different weekend in May! She was so accommodating and helpful in this process. After the trip, the apartment was perfect. We were allowed to bring our two dogs which was awesome and it was only a mile from downtown where we spent a lot of the time. The apartment was the perfect size for the two of us plus the pups. We went the grocery store when we got there so we could do breakfast at the apartment and it just worked out perfectly. We can't sell this place enough and we are excited to go back to Asheville sometime soon!
on the road with my mother
At last my mommy found me a home!
May 12, 2014
My mommy took me to a place where I was not wanted. She was sleeping in the van with me because I was not allowed in the house. I barked all day and all night, because I was so unhappy. I got her to take me to the dogpark, where I met a lovely dog named Clancy. She even let me off the leash, and Chancy and I ran and played while my mommy and his mommy talked. Pretty soon, we had moved into Clancy's mommy's apartment. I got to sit on a red velvet blanket on the couch, and the other mommy brought me toys I could wave around and chew. I felt like she loved me too! I hope we never leave because I am so happy here. My mommy is too.

Very efficient accommodations. Within walking distance to the downtown area, the Botanical Gardens, or just a peaceful walk around the nearby historic district neighborhood. The apartment was clean and well organized. Andrea was very helpful and courteous. Fresh flowers in the apartment when we arrived offered a special welcome. I recommend The Little Big House for a great place to stay near downtown at a reasonable price.

My husband, two beagles and I had a lovely weekend stay at The Little Big House! The convenient location, so close to UNCA and downtown ia a great thing. There are woods and the Greenway for fabulous dog walking as well. We felt at home in rhe cozy and very charming apartment, and hope to be back soon.
The Best Place I can think of Being Snowed In !!!
February 20, 2014
Perfect for me and my Fiance..... Gas Fireplace , Flat screen TV (even with Showtime) which we loved to keep us occupied for 2 days of Snow.. Walking distance to Trader Joe's and the High Five Coffee shop when driving was out of the question. Cozy Kitchen with everything you could ever need to make your favorite comfort foods... The Bed is super comfortable.... I'm all about the Bed... Not to mention the Wonderful Owner... I say Hipster... You may say: just one cool chick. Nonetheless , I would make this cozy walk-out my favorite and first choice everytime I'm in Asheville
Return visit even better!
October 6, 2013
Returning to the Little Big House after two years, I found it to be even nicer than on the first visit. Andrea continues to improve her cosy apartment, which is just as nice in the fall as I remember it to have been in the summer. Highly recommended for a quiet stay in a real, non-touristy part of Asheville. I hope to come back soon for a third helping!
August 27, 2013
Andrea is awesome. The house is awesome! Asheville is awesome. The blue ridge parkway is awesome. We got crunked at the Asheville food and wine and could walk back to this little piece of heaven called Little big house.
Charming, clean, convenient, cheap
August 20, 2013
My boyfriend and I loved our stay at the Little Big House during a recent wedding weekend. The amount of space is perfect for two, and downtown is pretty close to walk to (or take a $5 cab ride). Andrea is a nice woman who stays out of your way. Hotels in Asheville are weirdly expensive, in my opinion, and this was 1,000 times more fun than any hotel room anyway. Great porch too. Kind of wish we could live there.

Perfect place for exploring the area
July 25, 2013
My daughter and I came to the Asheville area for the third time in four years; I had visited many times previously. We like to stay in town and this place was perfect. Andrea was a wonderful hostess (even our dog Ruby was welcome). The apartment is comfortable with a nice porch, and convenient to everything.
Quaint, charming and peaceful.

This rental is fabulous! quiet peaceful and well appointed. Andrea made it a point to make our stay wonderful. The location is perfect close to everything. The apartment was perfect for us. We wouldn't change a thing and are looking forward to our next trip. Thanks again Andrea for making this vacation a special one.

The Little Big House was the perfect place to stay for my adventurous vacation in Asheville! There are majestic woods basically in the backyard, a fabulous coffee shop and downtown- all within walking distance. It is a safe, quiet neighborhood. Andrea is very helpful with anything you might need. She also is quiet and respectful of your privacy. You will have the most beautiful fresh flowers in the living and bedroom areas. A pet friendly environment, excellent parking and a fun place to stay ;-) A special thank you to Andrea for being so kind and helpful, making my time in Asheville comfortable, relaxing and safe.

Great place to stay

Our daughters who got to the apartment first sent this text: "Wow. Nice Choice! Adorable!!" That pretty much sums it up. This adorable apartment was a great choice. Easy to find. Close to everything. Provided everything needed to be comfortable.
Comfy and clean
June 3, 2013
The Little Big House offers a great alternative to staying in a hotel. A true "home away from home" it has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed and a relaxing living room with full service TV. Also it is in a location that is central to downtown as well as tourist attractions and shopping and is close to a nature walking trail with beautiful scenery. Our Westies enjoyed the dog friendly house and neighborhood, and we enjoyed taking walks every day. Andrea, the owner is gracious and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and then some! We were comfortable on chilly nights with the gas fireplace. The apartment is decorated to period with the age of the house, and the amenities were current and suited all of our needs. There is a small porch and backyard for outdoor enjoyment and the neighborhood is quiet. We stayed there again in May and will return in July for another 3 night stay. I encourage anyone who loves a classic, comfortable setting to book a vacation here. I felt more relaxed after staying at the Little Big House than any hotel in Asheville or anywhere.

We also have 3 beagles that were able to go with us. this place was clean and we were able to take our babies (beagles) with us which we really appreciated. Andrea was a absolute love and we are glad that she let us come and we highly recommend this place if you want to be close to it all and a clean place to be.

Great Little Big House
April 3, 2013
My wife and I spent Easter Weekend in Asheville at the Little Big House. Andrea's personality and knowledge is amazing. She knew the places to visit and the quickest way there, There were fresh flowers, clean sheets, and candy in the room. Andrea goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. My wife loved the kitchen and the place was better in person. We were very lucky to chave stumble across the computer advertisement. All our trips to Asheville is a must stay at the Little Big_house. Thanks Andrea for making our stay perfect! I highly recommend it you can't beat it.

All you need and more
October 27, 2012
I loved The Little Big House. It was a cozy, charming apartment which had wi-fi & your own washer & dryer & a great shower. I napped in the hammock on its own cozy little porch, took walks with my dog (and the owner's wonderful dog, Clancy) into downtown, along the terrific green ways and around Montford Park and Five Points, all of which are right there. Fresh flowers in the apartment along with really soft bed sheets were special. Owner, Andrea made great recommendations for restaurants and was delightful. From now on, when I go to Asheville, I'm staying at The Little Big House.

A Charming and Cozy Apartment
October 8, 2012
My husband, daughter and I spent three nights in the Little Big House in early October, and we had a wonderful experience! The apartment is loaded with charm and character, and Andrea's personal touches made us feel so comfortable and at home. There were fresh flowers in the living room and bedroom, a beautiful, well-appointed kitchen and even a doggie bed and food bowls waiting for our pups. We felt more like welcomed guests than renters. The house is in a fun, laid-back neighborhood great for walking and exploring with easy access to downtown. We had a great time in Asheville and look forward to returning for another stay at the Little Big House!
More like Home Than A Motel Room
August 21, 2012
Andrea at The Little-Big House was AweSome!!! We were expecting our first Grandbaby and he arrived a few days earlier. She went out of her way to have it cleaned and ready for us just after her other guest left. The apartment was just right size for my husband, myself and our Lab, Harley. The location is close to everything....while being in Asheville we visited as much as we could, eating out was fun, lots of different restaurants to choose from, we enjoyed The Southern, Asheville Pizza on Merrimon, everything you can think of. We also cooked at the apt and made dinner several nights for my son's, which they always enjoy a home cook meal. Andrea was a wealth of info on what to do around Asheville and she had info in the apt to read up things to do.... Even on chasing waterfalls....We will be Back.... Leaves will be changing soon, and I will be needing to get back to Giving Hugs to my Grandbaby boy....:-)))
Clean, quaint, very nice stay.
August 8, 2012
I wanted a space in Asheville that was near downtown, private, quiet, and comfortable. I stayed at The Little-Big House for 4 nights and absolutely enjoyed my stay. The apartment is extremely clean and nicely furnished; I appreciated the high quality sheets on the bed and even though I didn't use much of the kitchen appliances, it was stocked exceptionally well and had all that one could need. Andrea was very warm and welcoming while respecting my privacy as needed; she brought in fresh flowers upon my arrival and stocked a bowl full of chocolates. The location is very peaceful, and the little porch outside has a serene feeling..perfect for catching the breeze on a warm summer day. My only criticism would be that the apartment definitely had a cigarette smoke odor to it... I noticed it immediately, and it remained there during my stay. All of the other amazing qualities of the apartment made up for it, but if someone is particularly sensitive to the smell, it may be bothersome. In sum, I very much enjoyed my stay and would definitely return and recommend to others.
June 29, 2012
My family and I stayed at the Little-Big House for two weeks in June, and I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful little apartment. Although there is only one closed bedroom, we felt so comfortable and cozy we were tempted to stay forever (even the sleeper sofa was comfortable!). The owner is the consummate hostess and goes out of her way to make you feel at home while also respecting your privacy. She has truly thought of everything: excellent linens, handmade soap from the local farmer's market, baskets for bread, sparklers for the kids, even a jar with holes in the lid to catch fireflies for a temporary nightlight. She is such a lovely person! The small garden space is magical- the world's most comfortable hammock and chairs with lots of cushions will tempt you to lounge among the flowers all day. If you can rouse yourself, the Botanic Garden is only minutes away, and downtown is within easy reach by car or a healthy and pleasant walk. (we walked almost everywhere during our stay.) We enjoyed our stay so much we will be returning soon... while we look for a permanent home in beautiful Asheville! Thank you, Andrea, for such a warm welcome.
Graduation Celebration in Asheville
June 5, 2012
Staying at the Little Big House in Asheville was a perfect way to end a Mountain biking trip in western NC. The apartment is well decorated with artistic touches and local touches. The layout is cozy. The location is great. The neighbors are all smiles. I honestly have never felt warmer hospitality that that shown by Andrea.
Cozy, quaint, clean, convenient!
March 19, 2012
My wife, 3 year old daughter, black lab, and myself stayed at the Little Big House aparment and had a lovely time. The apartment had a separate entrance, with a nice private porch and hammock to the side. Everything down to the sheets were top notch. We really felt at home! Andrea even had some dog bowls out ready for our dog Josie. It was very easy to get around town, as we were only a couple miles from everything in Asheville. My wife said she could live in the apartment forever! Thanks again, we will be back!
January 24, 2012
Even in the dead of winter, the environment and atmosphere of the Little Big House is charming, warm and welcoming. Everything was sparkly clean. The apartment is tastefully appointed and very convenient to the best parts of Asheville. If you enjoy a cottage garden, go in the spring, where the flowering plants all around the patio are surely delightful. But the live plants and fresh flowers inside made a January visit cozy and cheerful, too.

lovely weekend home
December 6, 2011
We came for the weekend and were looking for a place to call home for a few days. Absolutely perfect, charming, comfortable space. Andrea was a wonderful host--ventilation was a slight problem the last morning, but I'm sure she'll take care of that. Would highly recommend to friends and strangers.
Much Love to the Little Big House!
November 30, 2011
My wife and I have stayed here twice now. First of all, Andrea is a wonderful host. She is super sweet and always good for restaurant recommendations. The place is always spotless, clean linens, towels, everything. It's a very cozy apartment with an awesome book selection. The kitchen is perfect, and the porch with hammock and chairs are an extra special touch. It is walking distance to an urban forest where we can enjoy nature with our dog. Super close to downtown as well, and there is a GreenLife grocery store in the neighborhood. I will most definitely stay here every time I visit Asheville. We have even recommended it to friends, they will be returning as well.
Wished we could have stayed longer!
October 11, 2011
By luck, I stumbled on The Little-Big House when searching for a place to stay while in town for a wedding. I couldn't have been more pleased with my find especially after comparing notes with another guest who stayed in the block of reserved hotel rooms. I spent less and got so much more! This warm, tidy and charming retreat was a welcome sight after spending the evening on my feet. We hope to make it back to Asheville soon and I can't imagine staying anywhere other then TLBH. Thanks Andrea!

The perfect get away!
September 17, 2011
We had a whole month at the Little Big House. It was perfect for a relaxing get away. It was comfortable, clean and close to everything. Andrea was available as needed but never intrusive. We hated to leave!
August 19, 2011
We had a pleasant and peaceful four-night stay at The Little-Big House. Its location is a comfortable walking distance to downtown Asheville and Merrimon Avenue restaurants and retail shops. The lush garden on the property was so welcoming. Andrea was easy to work with and respectful of our privacy. Our time at TLBH truly contributed to a positive first-time experience in Asheville.
August 3, 2011
We had a enjoyable trip. The weather was beautiful and our time spent at The Little Big house was perfect. We needed to recharge and relax from the busy life, and this was a wonderful place to do just that.
Summer as it used to be
July 29, 2011
My husband and I drove up to Asheville from the big city, tired and stressed and not knowing what to expect. Things started to look up the minute we found ourselves in the LBH's neighborhood, a wonderfully eclectic community of cottages with gorgeous, crazy gardens. They looked even better when we pulled up in front of the LBH itself -- a bit bigger than the norm, but with the same crazy-gorgeous feel to both the garden and the front porch. Better still was meeting Andrea, who is rightly described as warm and welcoming in so many of these reviews. The capper was the apartment itself: cosy, immaculate, well-equipped, tastefully decorated. It was blazing hot in Asheville while we were there, and yet we were able to do fine without turning on the AC, thanks to the ceiling fans, screens, and prevailing breezes. Quite a treat for us, since we usually spend the whole summer entombed in air conditioned spaces! From the hammock on the porch you can smell the freshly cut grass; watch bees in the rose-of-sharon blossoms and butterflies in the butterfly bush; read; doze; see the thunderheads building up in the west and smell the rain sweeping in; listen to the neighborhood kids playing by day and to the the cicadas by night. Both the botanical garden/urban forest and downtown are a very do-able walk, although we cheated and drove because of the heat. The Blue Ridge Parkway is easy to reach, and so are the greenways along the river. If you're looking for a place with a dishwasher, garbage disposal, pool, concierge, and plasma TV, this is not for you. If you're bothered by hearing footfalls overhead, intermittent minor fallings-out between the kids next door, and the occasional dog bark; or the fact that this is an old house and the floors slope a bit and you have to jiggle the door lock to get in, you should probably look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you crave a comfortable and peaceful interlude in a house with character, in a neighborhood with character, surrounded by nice people, sleeping well, breathing deep, eating well, and feeling wonderfully cosseted, you couldn't possibly do better unless maybe you had a time machine. Highly, highly recommended!
Perfect for our needs
July 6, 2011
We arrived in the dead of winter, snow and ice on the ground. Andrea had the gas logs burning, and made sure the Little Big House was cozy and warm for us. We had a great stay and are looking forward to going back this summer to experience Asheville , and the Little Big House, in warmer weather! It's a cozy, cute place that's very clean and with a comfy bed. Great walkable neighborhood too.
Lovely place to stay!
June 9, 2011
The apartment was a lovely respite from traveling on my 4-day drive from Illinois to eastern Carolina. The bed was comfortable, the living room spacious, and the kitchen well-suited for cooking (which I did). The apartment was also within walking distance of downtown Asheville without the steep price of a downtown hotel or the late-night noise. Andrea, the owner, was very helpful and easy-going. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to relax.
Owner uncontactable and changes rules on refunds
May 16, 2011
I booked to stay at this property in May 2010, for an October 2010 stay. Unfortunately, due to a bereavement, I had to transfer the booking to May 2011, as I could not travel to Asheville in October. The owner did transfer the booking, which was positive. However, as May approached, I emailed a couple of small queries to the owner and always it was at least a week before I got a reply; she does not check her emails frequently and I had to resort to writing through this site to get a response. I was attending a 2 day seminar at the Biltmore in May 2011 (my reason for coming to Asheville) - it was cancelled, so I emailed the owner to try and sort out if I could get a refund or work out a compromise. No response. I emailed, left messages, had to contact this site and finally - the day before I was due to arrive, she emailed me an abrupt message saying it was less than 24hours notice and she would not give me a refund. Appauling customer service and unnecessary - if she had picjed her emails and messages up sooner and responded, we could have sorted things out amicably, I am certain. It appears she made herself uncontactable, so she could justify not giving me a refund, and the fact she did not call me back to try and work out something that would be positive for us both, showed a lack of professionalism. I would advise anyone to be careful about paying any kind of reservation for this property. Be sure you know and have in writing the cancellation policy (she changed this to suit her new decision), and that you know all you need to well in advance of staying - as it can take at least a week to get any kind of response from the owner. I wish I had known this before I booked - this is why I am leaving a review - to help others. I lost $190 and it would be a shame if others had a similar experience.

"Charming", he said.
May 10, 2011
Overall, my boyfriend and I absolutely adored the RabbitHole - so cozy with more amenities and comfort than a boutique hotel! The bed was a bit soft for my old lady-esque back, but I still slept quite soundly thanks to the fresh linens and mountain air. Plus, it was the perfect excuse for a long bath in that gorgeous, vintage tub. The only slight inconvenience was a few curious ants, but Margaret warned us ahead of time and provided means to keep our food sealed. The best recommendation, however, was my (rather pragmatic, and sometimes not-so-romantic) boyfriend's announcement that he found it "charming and quite nice." The RabbitHole is a must-try - especially for the price, proximity and prettiness.
Great Place to Stay
November 6, 2010
Andrea has thought of everything. We had a wonderful stay and the Little Big House is warm and comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend. We'll be planning our next visit soon.
so far, not so good
October 1, 2010
We had reservations for next week, and have been trying to contact the owner for the past several days. Finally, after 3 phone calls (she would not answer the phone) and 2 email attempts, she responded saying that she could not hold our reservation, and that we would be reimbursed on PayPal. I sent a note saying that we understood; problems do come up...and called her..twice. No response. Now we are in dispute on PayPal. This is really sad; we were looking forward to our first fun weekend in a year...we have had family problems...huge bills...and had been saving up for this. I booked in August. This really saddens me; I was so looking forward to eating at Rosetta's, going to the drum circle, and getting my good "Asheville vibes" (I used to live there) back.....and if the owner had just bothered to call...I never would have given her a bad review, or disputed the money on paypal.

The Little-Big House was a beautiful, relaxing apartment approximately 1 mile from downtown Asheville. The apartment is completely furnished and totally relaxing. We parked the car and walked everywhere we wanted to go. WE look forward to our next visit to the Little-Big House

The big-little house was exactly what was promised: a one-bed room apartment, fully furnished, close in to downtown Asheville. Andrea, our landlord, was cordial, helpful and very easy going. We are very happy with our stay and will certainly do so again in future.
I will be back!

This was a great, cozy and quiet place to stay & explore the Asheville area. We had a fun time and the apartment was a perfect fit for our toddler and the two of us - much better than a hotel, and so close to downtown's eateries and shops! Thanks again!

This place is a cozy nest. It has such charm and personality. The bed was warm with the softest linen. The yellow kitchen was a perfect sun spot in the morning light. Andrea has a giving nature and unique spirit. I would choose to stay here again and wish to bring my girlfriend to experience the special place.

Perfect Place for everything Asheville
July 31, 2010
My family and I had the most wonderful time in Asheville and The Little-Big House felt like home while we were there. The 2 months I was here (from June to July) were perfect. It was quiet enough for me to study while at grad school and close enough to walk to the downtown to relax. My husband and daughter got the enjoy the last 2 weeks in July here as well. The Botanical Gardens, hiking trails, baseball, music, food, farmer's markets, and art galleries are all close by. The apartment was roomy and comfortable. Sitting on the porch and reading in the hammock are a necessity. We can't recommend this place enough, or Andrea's hospitality!

We adored staying at the Little-Big House, it was perfect for our needs. It's very close to town, and the kitchen has everything you could need to be comfortable. We will definitely stay here again, we've already recommended it to friends! Andrea is absolutely charming, and she had thought of everything to make this place perfect.

SOOO glad we found this place!!
March 29, 2010
We planned a last minute trip to Asheville and I found this place 3 days before we left. Andrea responded very promptly and politely. She even helped us find our way around the rock slide from Knoxville. The apartment is so cozy and cute. It is so close to downtown. She had magazines and pamplets available in the apartment which really helped us find entertainment and dining. My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay at the Little Big House so much! We will definetly be back to visit soon! Thank you so much for everything Andrea!! Sara & Jake
Perfect Little Asheville Getaway

Great place to get away for the weekend. It is just like the pictures...warm and toasty with the fireplace in the winter. I could only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay!
February 9, 2010
I'd wanted to visit Asheville for years and finally had the chance this February. Trying to avoid staying in a roadside motel, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Little Big House. Three words: I'll Be Back! This place is great; comfortable, quiet, spotless, fully equipped--everything is there, including a french press! Beat that hotel chain! Even better, it's a mile from downtown and all highway entrances. If you're headed to Asheville and want to experience the great beer culture, no worries; parking at the little big house is safe, as is walking to the center of town. I loved my stay in Asheville and attribute so much of that sentiment to having found such a great Little Big House! Can't wait to go back. I books the LBH based on the reviews, and the affordable price. Do the same....you won't be disappointed!
a BIG little Asheville vacation
January 27, 2010
Our stay in the Little House was a wonderful respite from our life in Philadelphia. The apartment was wonderfully appointed, delightfully comfortable, and perfectly located. Andrea made sure we had everything we needed, then let us enjoy our stay. Warm & engaging, she was always available to answer any of our questions. Loved being able to walk to a nearby park and have easy access to downtown Asheville. We enjoyed (big!) our little vacation.

My stay at the Little Big House was an absolutely wonderful treat after driving cross country from California. The apartment is clean, bright, comfortable and quiet. Andrea is warm, welcoming, and very respectful of privacy. The location is fantastic -- very close to downtown and nearby natural grocery store Greenlife. After spending months in Asheville, this space is rare because of it's location, charm, and affordability. I'm already planning my next trip for a winter get away! Thanks Andrea!
Perfect Start to A New Year
January 5, 2010
We wanted to do something new for New Year's, so I found this lovely, quaint dwelling in the middle of Asheville. I read previous reviews and booked, to find that the reviews were all true and on point. It's cozy and warm and it even snowed our last day. One word for that: BEAUTIFUL! Andrea was great and hospitable and very accomodating. We will definitely be returning this year, probably during warmer times!

Cozy cottage in Asheville
September 30, 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage. The owners have put a lot of love into decorating, and we especially enjoyed the private patio with hammock, surrounded by the flower garden. The home is convenient to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A week to remember!

Loved staying at the Little-Big House apartment. The apartment is decorated with impeccable taste and attention to detail, with fresh-cut flowers throughout. Great location so close to downtown Asheville, but still in a neighborhood full of nature. When showing pictures of my vacation to friends, the Little-Big House invariably stands out - it made my first visit to Asheville a special week to remember! Thanks!
