Enjoy the peaceful serenity of this beautiful, secluded, off-the-grid home at 3,800 feet near Barnardsville in Western North Carolina. A 1,800 square foot deck wraps around three sides and is securely gated at each end, perfect for small children. (There is even a small fleet of riding toys.) Lofty windows offer views of surrounding mountains and forest.Listen to the breeze through the trees and the brook falling over rocks from your bedroom or while enjoying a glass of wine on the deck. Watch the moon rise in the skylight amid the natural pine posts and beams of this solar-powered timber-frame home.

Three bedrooms, plus loft. Sleeps 10 (1 king, 2 queen, 2 twin, 1 rollaway twin, plus double futon in loft). Three full and one half-bath. Dog friendly (no cats, please, due to allergies.) Complete kitchen, microwave, washer/dryer, telephone with credit-card (800) long distance access, wireless DSL Internet and WiFi, satellite TV with CD, DVD and VHS in the living room and a second TV in the basement bedroom with satellite and DVD. An initial supply of soap and paper products sufficient for a few days is provided, as well as firewood for your entire stay. There are books, games and movies for children and adults.

Area Information
Set on 41 acres with private mountain trails and streams and surrounded on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest. The property rises sharply to the north through hardwood forest. To the east is Ivy Knob and to the south you can see Big Butt Mountain on the Appalachian Trail through the treetops. Facing west, across the stream in the deep ravine beside the deck, are the large hardwoods of the national forest. Located a few miles east of Barnardsville, which is on Highway 197 about 20 miles north-northeast of Asheville in western North Carolina. Just 25 minutes from Asheville and even closer to Weaverville and the charming college town of Mars Hill. Asheville is a vibrant, diverse community noted for arts and crafts, music, and folk culture. Easy access via scenic drives to golf, skiing, hiking, fishing, rafting, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, and many other attractions.
