Description of the Atenas vacation home rental
This amazingly beautiful, unique natural dream(tree)house was designed by the famous artist & natural builder Sunray Kelley (NY Times, MTV, National Geographic). Feel the magic! To rent for a very limited time only.

Peter Pan`s house is a dreamhouse, because of it's magnificent shape (resembles a temple with its 2 long arched roofs) and the very welcoming, all natural and cozy interior. We chose building materials that were as natural and free of toxics as possible (wood, bamboo, cob) to create a healthy and high energy living space for everyone. All windows and doors have moskito nets. IT IS NEW! We just finished it in autumn 2014.

Peter Pan`s dream(tree)house is part of LA ECOVILLA, an amazing, unique and technologically very advanced ecovillage with fiber-optic high speed internet, a heated (!) saltwater swimming pool, a community center, a yoga platform, a bio-digestor, a school and access to the stunning rio Machuca, one of Costa Rica's purest rivers.

There are more than hundred fruit trees from all over the world plus many native trees and wildlife is abundant, too (tucanos, mot mots, butterflies, even morphos, howler monkeys and white-headed capuchin to name just a few).

Nature at it's best and for us it's how paradise looks like : living in magnificent nature with the cleanest air possible, the purest water we can imagine (from an underwater river, it's almost like mineral water) and surrounded by very friendly, generous and conscious neighbors from all over the world (more than 25 nationalities), that care about environment as much as we do. Being in perfect nature and still be connected to the rest of the world with high speed internet.

Living world's best climate (according to NASA) being a bit up on the hills, but only 20 minutes away from the beach or 45 minutes from San Jose or the Airport. Living pura vida.

Everyday there are many buses going to the airport (1 hour, 2.5$) and San Jose or to the next towns (San Mateo, about 4km and Orotina about 7km, 0.5$) or to Jaco, Quepos and the beaches. The bus stop is about 1km from Ecovilla on the old scenic main road (Ruta 3) to San Jose.

Amenities: Kitchen, stove, fridge, microwave, unlimited high speed internet (fiberoptics), unlimited hot water, washer, dryer, free parking on premises, swimming pool and yoga platform (in the communal area).

This is a brand new house (finished in October 2014). Before our family moves in, we want to give a few people a chance to experience living in this special, comfortable natural house. Please treat it as if it was yours and treat neighbors and nature/animals with greatest respect. Minimum stay is 7 days. Thank you.

Area Information
Peter Pan's Dream(tree)house is conveniently situated between San Jose and the Pacific Ocean. Within 45 minutes you can be in San Jose and do all the activities there and in 20 minutes you are at the closest beach.

Even day outings to the famous Poas volcano, the truly amazing Monteverde Cloud forest reserve (take a skywalk or hanging bridge in the canopy of the trees) or the much visited Manuel Antonio National Park are possible, it is about a 2 hours drive to get there.

Much closer, only 25 minutes away is a beautiful, less famous secret: Carara National Park with one of the largest remaining wild scarlet macaws (this superb parrot!) populations in the country plus many other wildlife (just see on Wikipedia).

Fun for kids is the Turu Bari Nature and Adventure park (canopy etc. etc. etc.) which is only a 20 minutes drive away. Check for the latest news on internet.

Only 20 minutes away you can see the wild crocodiles, looking down from the bridge over the Tarcoles river.

If you continue after the Tarcoles river on the same highway down south ,you will reach Playa Herradura, a great beach for kids and parents, palm trees and restaurants close to the beach or a guy who sells little delicious BBQ sticks on the beach.

The Zoo Ave in La Garita near San Jose is a rehabilitation station for a lot of wildlife and only 40 minutes away.

The Peninsula Nicoya can be reached by boat.

There seems to be a super canopy tour (which I just recently discovered online but never did yet) really close to Peter Pan's dreamhouse (only about 1/2h as it seems). Check online for the Mahogany Park Canopy tour on their site: canopytour.

Last but not least some leads by one of the friendly Ecovilla neighbors for great restaurants (there are of course many more, and tasty too, but here are his favorites).
Orotina: Algo Diferente (Tico) amazingly good Italian dishes
Atenas: Antaño (Tico, traditional)
Jacó: Arigato (Japanese/Sushi)
Santa Ana: Doris Metropolitan (High End Steak-House)
Escazú/Guachipelin: Inka-Grill (Peruvian/Fusion)

Have a wonderful stay
