“Beautiful Lake House”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

The house exceeded our expectations; beautiful layout which enabled our handicap sister to get around easily in her walker. Lovely furniture and décor - especially enjoyed the enclosed porch. We were able to bring our dog, and he enjoyed rolling around in the sand, but found he didn't like to swim (which was more than ok with us!). Golfed at Huron Breeze (great course!) and Knollwood View (stunning course!) and Pine River (better bring lots of balls!). Our favorite restaurant was Ali's, who offered good food at good prices. House has every amenity available - we would definitely rent again!

“Great Retreat!”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

Had a great stay at the house on the lake! Private beach with no neighbors/wooded lot on one side. Our kids loved splashing in the water and it was shallow for a long way like previous reviewers stated. We had campfires by the beach every night! I think our dog had the best time by far in and out of the water, and we are grateful that the owners let us include him in our vacation. The house was updated yet cozy, and the kitchen was well stocked to cook dinner. The grill looks like it's seen better days, but it was usable. The only bummer was that we had to go to Tawas (about 20mi) for groceries and to go out to eat, but it wasn't that big of an inconvenience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!!

A cozy home on Lake Huron... The colors were beautiful as well as the variety of wild birds. This is a very modern home with a small woods on its right side. Private and calm, with very friendly owners, this is a great place to relax. Joe

“relaxing getaway”

This home was very well stocked. Owners are kind and accommodating. The sandy beach was well maintained and the kids loved it. Home is great for a family getaway or a girls weekend away. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of the waves. Would recommend for a relaxing trip away.

“Perfect for Little Ones”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2013

We had a great stay here. It was every thing we were promised and more. House was very clean and it was a lot bigger than we imagined. The water is very shallow for a while which was amazing for our small children. The beach was clean and sandy. The house had every thing you could need, even a blender was provided. My 9 year old nephew came to stay and wasn't thrilled with the beach because it didn't get deep enough to swim. We had a great time and we will certainly be booking this again. The beach house was quiet and relaxing, no house on one side of the cabin. I loved having the provided towels and washer/dryer. We haven't had a better vacation with the kids yet.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the great feedback Deborah.

“Beautiful/clean/perfect beach”

My family had a wonderful time. The house and beach were perfect for our family. We enjoyed the beach daily, and the patio every evening. Town had a lot to offer as well beaches, shopping, putt putt, state park , lighthouse. We had a great family vacation. The transaction with the owner was very easy as well! Thanks for great memories with our family!

Owner's reply: Thanks Heather, we are happy to hear you guys enjoyed your stay!

“Fabulous location, very private!”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

This is one beautiful property, very private and great for bird watching. We especially enjoyed the Egrets fishing in the morning. The house was stocked with everything you could think of except for food, so you could literally walk right in, open the bottle of wine included in the Welcome package and start your vacation on the patio (lake breezes and beautiful view, no extra charge :-). This attention to detail exceeded expectations as did the queen size sleep number bed. Thanks to the owners for being able to accommodate our last minute reservation, wish we could have stayed the whole week!

“Relaxing week”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

We found the Augres very clean and well taken care of. It was nice to have a large house with two and a half bathrooms and a wonderful porch where we had all our meals. It was a very relaxing week. We had two dogs with us and they loved the beach with the shallow water and we had great fun watching them jump around. The only down side we had was the lack of internet access. It was hard for some to disconnect.

Owner's reply: Great to have you guys, we appreciate the feedback. Thank you

“If you want to relax...”

...go to this house. Very clean. Nicely furnished. Very nice and accessible owners. The beach can be a bit muddy in parts, but seriously - who cares. Step over into the sand and walk for almost 200 yards and the water might get to your waist. There's a hose outside to wash mud off your feet. My dog loved being walked off leash in the morning and sprinting through the water. Go here is you have pets. There are two bedrooms int he house and then two twin beds set up in an alcove on the second floor - so house itself sleeps 6. Then there is a "boat house" that has two bunk beds. Would be perfect for young teens. Au Gres itself is a small quiet town, which was exactly what we were looking for.Half hour north are Tawas City and Oscada if you are looking for more to do. I had a great time. Thanks Jerry and Jerry!
