We had a great time with our kids & grand kids at the lake house. It was very clean we well maintained. It had all of the conveniences you would expect to have. The lake was about 15 paces from the house and the view was great. Thank you all for being so accommodating throughout our stay. R & L Wheeler

Hill Country Lake House

July 11, 2014

When we arrived to the property, the code did not work. We waited and called Ellen for over an hour trying to get inside. My Family was very aggravated because I called and text so many times before we got inside. We had a complaining neighbor that informed us that this was a residential area and she goes to bed at 10:00 p.m. and she hoped that we would do the same. Other than these two complaints our family really did enjoy the property. AFter speaking with Ellen and getting things straight it was truly a wonderful trip and stay. The property could use a little more spider web and bug cleaning.

Very comfortable house

November 4, 2012

The house was very comfortable and clean and everything we needed was supplied. We had a large family gathering before our son's wedding and the house accommodated the activities very well. Eight people stayed at the home and enjoyed privacy as well as cozy common areas.

House not as advertised. Not worth the price.

July 19, 2012

The house was cool and clean. And there was a nice view of the lake. The online listing was correct about those things. However, the pictures of the property were not indicative of its current state. When were those pictures taken?? There were many doorknobs were falling off. The gameroom was in a shambles, with an abandoned unworking refrigerator (DANGEROUS) and a pile of broken dirty pool toys, a broken ping pong table, and cracked walls. The "luxury gameroom" had the feel of an unfinished basement. Also, there was not a foosball table to be found, though one had been advertised. The kids were pretty disappointed about that. The pool had a layer of dirt and three dead frogs in it upon our arrival. I called the manager "Randy" about that, and there was no response from him. The boat dock was submerged in the lake at a 45-degree angle, making it unsafe and unusable. The sidewalk leading from house to lake stopped at the end of our visual field (how convenient!) and there was no safe walkway to the lake down the steep rocky incline. The kitchen was very poorly stocked. We found ourselves buying essentials like a pitcher, a mixing bowl, and a cookie sheet. The ice maker did not work. The garbage disposal sounded in need of repair or replacement. There were remote controls for DVD players, but no DVD player could be found in the house. ??? The fan we found in a closet did not work. We had to flip a breaker to get a window AC unit to work. The bedrooms had no lamps or bedside tables. Some of the light fixtures did not work. Faulty breaker? Burned out bulbs? Who knows? This home was clearly not worth what was paid for its rental, and it needs significant repair to make it a safe and desirable property. Please consider an inspection of this home to determine if it is appropriate to rent it to families.

Great Time

May 11, 2011

We enjoyed the house. They layout was perfect for our family and accomodated our babies very well. I was glad that we stayed on the river side and not on the lake itself. Our view was much better since the lake is so low. Great time!

Interior good shape, exterior a mess

January 30, 2011

We rented this property over July 4. The outdoor furniture was so rusted and old you couldn't sit in it without scratching your arms. The upstairs patio was covered with cobwebs and spiders, ceiling fans didn't work on either patio. The interior of the house was fine. I would suggest you skip this house if you enjoy the outdoors.

Nice home, description misleading

August 17, 2010

This was a very nice home. However, there are several descriptions that mislead us to think that this house is actually on the lake, it is not. It is downstream from the dam on the Colorado river. Thee is no lake access from this home. I am really glad I did not bring a boat or rent a watercraft that I would not have been able to use from the property on the lake.

PS if you get a chance, please stop in business in Jefferson Square in Austin: LEE'S MEAT MARKET.
Lee prepared all our food and; of course, it could not have been better!!!

The house was clean and well put together. There are plenty of spacious bedrooms, with comfortable beds. The downstairs area includes a big open space with a pool table and mini-kitchen. The 20 second walk down to the lake makes this house the perfect spot! Would go back in a heartbeat! I stayed here during the South By Southwest Festival, it was great because I was able to avoid the hectic mess of downtown Austin hotels. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I came down for a weekend on a Friday afternoon and were greeted with by such a beautiful sight! The house was impeccably clean and quiet and just what we needed. It's right on a bend of the lake and it's got a great secluded feel. We made dinner in the fabulous kitchen and then sat out and watched the stars on the was so lovely! We also ventured out into Austin and the drive was short (about 15 min.) and so beautiful! Through winding trees and hills, you don't even feel like you're near any city. We will certainly be returning again! Thanks for a wonderful time!

We had our first annual Corporate retreat here and this house was amazing. We choose this house because of its location. We rented a small boat and jet skis and docked them on our own dock over night. My fiancée loved the location so much we have decided to book it for our wedding. Pros: Close to Downtown, Beautiful Scenery, Beautiful house, Lots of nearby family activities. Cons: None
