Description from manager
Built combined with a tower from 1200, Villa Isabella together with the whole estate belonged over the centuries to several Fiorentine families, such as Pitti and the Medici. Towards the middle of 1500, the current main building was rebuilt and expanded on the ruins of the ancient castle (of which today only the tower remained). During the nineteenth century, the English landscape architect Cecil Pincent, transformed the romantic nineteenth century park into a rational garden, inspired by the fashion of those years.
Situated a few kilometers from Bagno a Ripoli (8kilometers/5miles), 12kilometers/8miles from Florence, in the area of Chianti classic, Isabella is a historical residence consisting of the villa, the tower, a romantic park and a French garden with a large infinity pool with views of the lovely Chianti hills.
Thanks to its privileged position, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, the villa is the ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday, immersed in the tranquility of the countryside, but yet close enough to Florence to easily go there, even for only half a day.
The villa is built on three levels; the second and third floors host the bedrooms, from a classic to a rigorous style, very spacious, some of them very large and with a wonderful view of the Tuscan hills and Florence. Some bedrooms overlook the beautiful garden. The furnishing is made of traditional Tuscan furniture in total simplicity and the bathrooms are well maintained, dating from the era between the 60s and 80s.
The ground floor houses an impressive living room with a high wooden ceiling, once called ballroom. The other rooms on the ground floor are a series of halls and parlors, some of which are equipped with large French windows that open onto the garden terrace.
What can be organized for the guests of Isabella: some unforgettable experiences such as cooking classes, dinners with chefs combined with lovely music, guided visits to museums and sightseeing in Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, excursions to 5 Terre, cycling in the vineyards and the Chianti hills, oil, wine and cheese tasting combined with wine tours, painting lessons in the park of the castle, yoga lessons around the pool, private classical concerts, dinners and theme nights, transfers to and from the airport or train station in Florence. This historical home, due to its characteristics, is the ideal place to host private events and weddings and to live unforgettable moments.
