Description from owner

This spacious and secluded mountain home retreat is just across the Tennessee / North Carolina border. Porches, balconies and decks abound provide spectacular views. Two creeks along each side of the 6.5 acre property serenade you as you enjoy the peace and tranquility the area has to offer.

A great getaway for the entire family. Located only one mile away, the Appalacian Trail is close enough to start your hiking adventure from the front door. Roan Mountain State Park is also easily accessible via Hughes Gap Road, about four miles.

Due to the proximitity of the Pisgah National Forrest and Roan Mountain State Park near by, there is an abundance of wildlife. You will frequently spot deer, wild turkey, rabbits, bears, etc... There has even been a cayote spotted roaming on the property. It is also a paradise for the bird watching enthusiast.

“Nice Place with great view!”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2014

Nice home, clean, well maintained with great porches with awesome views of the mountains. Lots of movies and games provided. Good satellite TV. Spacious bedrooms. Needs a sleeper sofa. Did not like having to dispose of my own trash - the "convenient locations" for disposal were NOT convenient. This is a remote area. Be sure you don't mind driving a lot on curvy, hilly roads to go places and do things. There is not a whole lot to do in the area, but the scenic beauty is a good trade-off. This area is not over-developed for tourism - a plus for us, because we enjoyed seeing the true color of Appalachian life. The people in the area are friendly.
