Description from owner

Come stay in our beautiful log cabin located on the shoulder of Grandfather Mountain in the North Carolina Mountains. It is located in a gated development and is tucked away down a long driveway with no other cabins in sight. There is a lower back deck that overlooks a beautiful mountain creek. It has both a large stone wood burning fireplace and a wood stove to keep you warn and toasty in the Fall and Winter. It is the perfect vacation getaway all year round.

Winter time is Ski Time and our cabin is located only 10 minutes away from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Hawksnest Ski Resort and about 20 minutes away from Beech Mountain Ski Resort.

Spring time is the perfect time for Hiking , Fly Fishing , and Sight seeing in the North Carolina High Country. There are trails for beginners, skilled hikers, and everyone in between. If you are not interested in hiking, just drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and back roads and stop at the overlooks for breath taking views ( don't forget your camera ).

Summer time is the perfect time to come up and escape the heat in the cities. When the temperatures climb up towards 100 degrees and the humidity is making you melt, just head up to our cabin and COOL OFF. The cabin is located at an altitude of 4,000 + feet, so it is nice and cool in the summer. The high at our cabin last summer was 79 degrees and it was only that hot 6 or 7 days all summer. It is a great time to go : hiking, sight seeing, fly fishing, white water rafting, outlet and boutique shopping, art gallery shopping, restaurant hopping, or just sit back and relax with a good book in the hammock.

Fall.....boy are you in for a big surprise. The Fall Colors in our area are unbelievable. If you have not experienced the changing of the leaves in the NC Mountains in October each year, than you have missed Mother Nature's Color Extravaganza. It is hard to describe just how beautiful it is up here at that time of year. The reds, oranges, and yellows mixed in with the ever greens will truly take your breath away.....don't forget your camera !!!!!

Beds: 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Sofa Bed

“Wonderful Ski and Relaxation Week!”

Reviewed 20 Feb 2015

From the second that we entered the cabin, we felt right at home. We have stayed at many rentals but this one was a notch above the rest. They had everything that we needed for us and our dog children. The cabin is in a gated community and is tucked off the main road about 200 feet; which made it private and made me feel safe in being able to let my dogs out supervised and not have to worry about cars coming by. The fireplace was amazing and there was always wood available to us at anytime. The internet, cable and power always worked, even with 2 snow storms. The owners were very helpful and responsive before and during our trip in making sure that we were comfortable and safe. You NEED a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it up to the cabin from the main road if there is inclement weather. The neighborhood does a great job at plowing and treating the road but it still gets a little slippery when it snows / ices up. The cabin's location is ideally situated near Sugar Mountain, Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Lots of things to do ranging from skiing, antique shopping, outlet malls, good restaurants, wineries and much more. I would fully recommend to anyone that they should stay here as you will not be disappointed!

“Cozy Secluded Cabin”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2015

My husband and our 2 Labrador retrievers stayed in this cabin for four days, and it was hard to leave. This cabin had everything we needed. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We loved the area. It was right around the corner from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. It was close to anything we needed, but located high up in the mountains on a private lot with no other houses in site. It was very peaceful, quiet, and cozy!

“Perfect cabin”

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was wonderful and so was the location! The best thing was that we were able to bring our dog. She loved it too!

“A relaxing stay”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2014

This cabin was just what we needed. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and nestled between all the attractions. My family and I enjoyed coming home and sitting on the deck's rocking chairs and listening to the crickets. This cabin is well worth the money.

“Valentines weekend”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2014

We absolutely loved the cabin, very cozy and it had everything you need. We went after the blizzard that hit the south and I will recommend to drive a 4 wheel drive, it could bevery scary to drive up those hills after a few days with lots of snow.

“Great family vacation”

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. Very cozy and the owner made sure we had everything we needed. Close to activities and restaurants. The area we stayed was also gated. Overall a great time and would definitely stay here again.

“Creekside Cabin”

My family and I had a fabulous time at the cabin. Everything was in order: the timing was right, the leaves were beautiful and the crowd hadn't gotten there yet. Would love to return when it snows!
