“Cozy cottage”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2017

Place had every thing we needed. Much better than staying in a motel. Very quiet. Would be nice if there was a light over the dinning room table.

“Romantic.cozy getaway”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2016

This cottage and the owner Frank was amazing! It was the perfect size for a birthday getaway weekend. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace and the hot tub. The location was perfect and allowed us to visit banner elk, blowing rock and Boone. We loved Granffather winery which is right around the corner and Artisanal Restaurant in Banner Elk. The cottage is not far from the blue ridge parkway and amazing hiking! We were delayed by a day because of Hurricane Matthew so Frank was kind enough to allow a late check out for us, which really helped us out. We would stay here again anytime! Thanks again, Shelly and Duane

“Great Family Vacation”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2016

We had a wonderful stay. The place was beautiful and the owner was amazingly understanding. The location was close to everything but quiet and serene. Previous reviews have mentioned no AC but there was one when we went. The hot tub was enjoyable after hiking. It was great to be able to take our dogs with us. They loved the cottage. The sleeper sofa was comfortable. The ability to do laundry was nice. Overall, the experience was wonderful and I recommend this place completely. The owners is wonderful and easy to work with and responds quickly. If we return to the area again, as we plan to, we will most definitely stay here.

“Wonderful Getaway”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

We love exploring the mountain areas of North Carolina but the majority of our adventures before this trip have been west of I-26 and west close to Blue Ridge Mountain Park. We were not familiar with the areas of Banner Elk/Boone/Blowing Rock, etc so this was all new territory for us. We appreciated that this quaint cabin was pet-friendly for our 2 medium-sized dogs. And while we tend to usually rent accommodations that are more secluded than this cabin, we were pleased with the small community in which it is located. The renovations were appreciated however more overhead lighting would have been appreciated. The hot tub was enjoyable especially since it featured an easy-on, easy-off cover. Also liked having broad TV channel access as well as internet access. We enjoyed sitting outdoors on the porch and would have liked either some small TV tray tables or movable small table to be able to play one of several board games that were there. Also a nice assortment of DVDs to watch. We would consider returning to this cabin in the fall to experience the color changes of the trees. It is also a very lovely area to walk - especially with dogs. Altho' we didn't need it, nice to have a washer and dryer included in the accommodations. There are limited spaces in the immediate kitchen area for storing any food items you may bring but the area where the washer/dryer is located worked well for that. Plenty of pots, pans, 2 baking sheets however the electric stove top is small as is the oven. Don't plan on baking anything in a really large pan or casserole dish. Overall - LOVED the experience as did our pups.

“Well needed”

Reviewed 3 May 2016

Stayed at the cottage at the end of the month into the beginning of May. Had an outstanding time, having dinner with the windows open and the always nice mountain breeze rolling though. Nights with a glass of wine in the hot tub were comparable to none listening to the frogs sing their songs and hearing the river rushing in the background. Cottage was just what the girlfriend and I needed for romanticism and fishing. Guys if you're looking for a place to give your girl the romantic get away and to wet your boots in the river, look no further. We will be looking to return shortly.

“Perfect for 2 people 2 fur babies”

This was the perfect stay for two adults and our pups. It was clean, cozy, a good price, and the hot tub rocked! There was a beautiful hiking trail right down the hill from us too!

“A girls weekend”

Reviewed 11 Dec 2015

This cabin was perfect for our trip. It is clean and updated in design. It has every thing you would need in terms of houseware including a Keurig. The cabin was warm and ready to enjoy from the moment we got there as it was in the 30's outside. It is located within 10 minutes from down town, Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain Resort (skying, tubing, ice skating, and more), and Hawksnest tubing and zip lining. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy snow activities due to the weather not being cold enough, but we still made the most of what we could experience there. Weather cannot be controlled. Oh well, now we have a reason to come back in late January. We also went for a wine tasting that was five minutes from the cabin. The only thing we didn't realize, although was not a problem, is that the cabin is not necessarily secluded. You do however have beautiful trees and scenery around with mild seclusion. Enough to enjoy the use of the hot tub in 28 degree weather. :) I would not only come back but I would also highly recommend this property to others.

“Good deal”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

Our second time using this cabin and consider it a good deal for the money. very clean and especially enjoyed the hot tub. The shade was nice but did obstruct the view so one can not have their cake and eat it too. Location is great since its close to Boone but not too close.

“Quiet place to stay”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2015

This is a very clean rental and the neighborhood is very quite. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend an air conditioner. It gets really warm in there at times.

“Cozy "Home"”

Reviewed 19 Jan 2015

My stay in cottage in the round was amazing. I could feel like I was home. Definitely a place to go back. Frank was super kind and called us to see if we were OK and gave us some tips of the house!!

Hi Casey,
Thanks for a great weekend. Although the weather didn't cooperate, we had a nice time, and the cottage was perfect. Very, very clean nicely decorated and has all the amenities. We will definetly stay there again.
Thanks,

Hi Casey,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your cabin. It was truly a dream vacation. All your special touches were so much appreciated, from the puzzels and games in the closet to the wonderful hot tub and barbeque grill on hte deck. We had a wonderful time out on the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas every day, but couldn't wait to get "home" to our special getaway retreat at the cabin. We knew we would miss the place--and we do, already! We hope to return next year, and for many years thereafter.
