WNC Mountain Cabin on Grandfather Mountain
Springtime is the perfect time for hiking, fly fishing, and sight seeing in the NC High Country. There are trails for beginners, skilled hikers, and everything in between. If hiking does not interest you , than take a nice drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway or the back roads and enjoy the breath taking views. ( Don't forget your Camera ).
Summertime is the perfect time to come up and escape the heat in the cities. When the temperatures are hitting the high 90's in the cities , it is usually in the 70's at the cabin with nice cool breezes.
Fall....boy are you in for a big suprise !! The Fall Colors in our area are unbelievable. If you have not experienced the changing of the leaves in the NC Mountains each October than you have missed Mother Nature's Color Extravaganza. It is hard to describe just how beautiful it is up here at time of year. The beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows mixed with the evergreens will take your breath away. Just don't forget your camera.
Wintertime is Ski Time. Our cabin is only 10 minutes away from Sugar and Hawksnest Ski Resorts and only 20 minutes from Appalachian and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts. And after a fun day on the slopes , come back to the cabin and relax in the large hot tub before you snuggle in front of the stone wood burning fireplace.

Perfect & Cozy

My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend and this cabin was the perfect destination! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and were thankful for all the firewood supplied for our burning pleasure. The cabin is in the perfect location; near enough to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, etc., but far enough off of the main road to feel secluded and truly away. Thanks for a great weekend!!

I just wanted to THANK YOU for the great stay we had at your Cabin. It was really close to the the slopes and just a short drive to either Blowing Rock or Boone. It had a rustic feel and yet it was updated to make it like home. Our kids loved sledding down the driveway. We had 4 inches of snow while we were there so it was perfect. We look forward to returning in the future for our next Ski trip. Thanks, The Davis and Norris Families
It was an extraordinary adventure.

We booked this cabin as a last minute getaway and it was perfect for us! We loved the location-far enough away but still close-in to civilization. The house was much bigger than we expected, and the extra space downstairs was nice. The home was very accommodating and we loved the fireplace and the firewood provided. We had an awesome weekend at an awesome rate. The only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer! Next time, we will try to make it at least 3 nights, so that the drive is worthwhile. Would love to stay again.

My family and I stayed at this cabin a couple of years ago (see review) and was glad to be able to get it again for a Spring getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Barbi was again fantastic as ever with communications. This cabin is so pleasant to visit! My wife, daughter and I love it there! We hope to get it again in the Fall. Barbi will always have our cabin-renting business!

This cabin was so beautiful! It had everything we needed while we were there and it was larger than I was expecting. It was very comfortable- the beds were comfy, there were more than enough linens, the washer and dryer were plenty big enough, and the kitchen was well stocked. The only reason it didn't earn five stars was that it was 40 inside the house when we arrived and the pipes to the downstairs toilet was frozen and didn't thaw for a full day- there is no central heat, but lots of heaters. But this is the mountains after all and it was right after a blizzard. The beautiful stone fireplace did the trick in warming it up (and they provided firewood!) This cabin was waaaay up a hill (they ask you for 4WD for a reason!) but the view was amazing and it was a stunning location. The owners were great and very helpful. We had a wonderful time and we'll be back! OH and there is a hill for sledding in the front yard! We were going to drive around and look for somewhere to sled, but we didn't have to go anywhere!

This cabin definately exceeded our expectations. Barbi is very flexible and easy to work with. The cabin was very secluded and beautiful and it gave us the peace and quiet we needed. We arrived late on a Thursday night with about 10 inches of fresh snow everywhere. I definately will be staying here next time I go skiing in NC, and I will definately be coming back to stay in this cabin!
