“Awesome retreat”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2015

We have been coming to this chalet for 4 years. Plenty of room, great kitchen for cooking, quiet and comfy. So close to Sugar slopes! Our favorite winter retreat!

Owner's reply: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope that you will visit us again. It is always great to hear positive feedback. Thank you so much.

“Lovely cabin, close to everything we wanted to do”

We loved the Red Twig Chalet in Banner Elk. It was a warm and very comfortable retreat after a day out on the slopes, tubing and building snow forts. The kids loved the cool walking sticks for hiking, bunk beds and 56! Classic Horror Movie collection. Really like the comfortable beds and nice kitchen. We would like to come back for different seasons, the two-level deck overlooking the mountain would be gorgeous in the fall.

“A small piece of heaven!!!”

It was really hard for me to go back home, we enjoyed every minute of our stay, what an amazing place, from the inside to the outside was absolutely perfect! My family wants to come back soon! Very convenience location, everything close by, restaurants, supermarkets, skiing, etc. I would highly recommend this place.

Cabin is beautiful! The amenities are top notch! Loved the kitchen, and master bath especially! Plenty of room for a family with older teens, house is laid out well for families of all sizes. Great location, convenient to ski resort and area activities. I plan to stay here in the future!

Went for our grandsons college graduation at ASU..was a perfect place for all of us to stay together in one place...felt like home, very comfy, very quite, loved spending time on the decks, eating and gathering around the little fire place....lots to discover if you love birds and wildflowers, just take an early morning or evening walk....kitchen is very spacious and equipped. For those who have trouble with stairs, I really loved the fact you did not have to walk up or down to get into the home...but right into the front door......and the owners are a great couple to work with......We all had a wonderful time at Red Twig.....hope to visit again when our 2nd grandson graduates......

“Peaceful and Relaxing”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2011

Whether you want to explore all the wonders of the NC mountains or just sit on the wide porch and watch the leaves fall, this cabin provides you with every accommodation. The rooms are comfortable. The decor is pleasing to the eye, and the facilities are top notch. It's a great place to crash after a drive down the Parkway, a hike along the nearby trails, or a run down the ski slope. We had great time.

“Perfect Mountain Location”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our mountain visit at this quaint cabin. It had everything (and way more!) that we needed for a wonderful stay. It was convenient to everything, and the beds were extremely comfortable (which was a huge bonus after hiking all day!). Grocery store was practically across the street, and both Banner Elk Park and Valley Crusis Parks were close -- my kids had a blast at both (bring bathing suits to play in the creeks!). Even though stores were close for convenience - the house itself was nestled in the woods, and very tranquil. I highly recommend this cabin, and will be back! (would have been back this summer but it was already booked -- so book early!)

“the perfect vacation rental”

My family stayed at this home in Jan 2011 and couldn't have been more pleased with our selection. The home was very nicely furnished, convenient to several ski resorts and local shopping/restaurants, and very comfortable for our family of 6. I would definitely recommend this to other families looking for a cozy place to stay in the NC mountains, as it greatly exceeded our expectations.

Sharon and Bryon (Owners)are so friendly and dedicated to ensuring our stay in their home met our expectations. The furnishing are high quality and make you feel like you are at home. This location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. We are looking forward to our stay here in January 2011. If you book this for your vacation you will certainly be pleased with your choice.
