My family and I had never been to Maine and wanted a nice quite place to go after the busy day's of running around-we found the perfect place. The house was wonderful and the kitchen was the most popular spot with the great commercial stove, grill and oven. Much better than home. The house was very cozy - yet spacious - many walking activities to do right around the house. Would recommend this place to any one.

Owner's reply: Eileen, thank you for choosing my home! I'm glad you enjoyed the area and the kitchen amenities. Hope to see you return. Meredith

We stayed the third week of June and everything was fabulous. The Carriage House was a complete hideaway, yet we were a short walk or a very quick bike ride to Acadia trails and a 5 minute car ride to the center of town. Our family of 7 had more than enough room for their "stuff" and our 3 dogs loved it. Our hosts were always accessible and Steve asked me daily if I needed anything. My standard response was only another week!! The house had 2 separate bedrooms with 2 beds in each and a loft area with another bed. Bathroom led out a nice hidden deck. complete with grill, table, chairs and umbrella (great for star gazing). The kitchen had all we needed to prepare our meals (we do always travel with a crockpot for cooking) and the available AC was nice. Our evenings were nice and chilly (around 50) so we slept with windows open. My kids loved the large skylight in the living room and took turns sleeping in the recliner to watch the stars. The separate dog area (100 feet from our door) was completely fenced and allowed the dogs to explore and let out some energy. Nice place to have coffee in the morning and watch the resident Bluejay while relaxing in the adirondack chairs. We towed our trailer and they had plenty of room for parking and storing the trailer during our stay. We explored Acadia everyday by foot, bike and upward mountain climbing. Our only downfall was we were a little early for whales and did not see any on our trip, but we had a whale guarantee so our next trip is free. We already booked to stay again next year at the end of July and my kids are already planning their days. Best vacation for our family in a long time and I highly recommend staying with Marilyn and Steve.
