Cottage in the woods
November 2, 2011
We spent most of 2 weeks in the fall here. The surrounding area is very beautiful, and although you are on the edge of North Conway (= lots of traffic, strip malls, etc), it is also pretty easy to get away into the wilderness in most directions. It is also easy to get to everything you need (grocery stores, restaurants, etc) within a 10-20 minute drive. The cottage is in the rural equivalent of a subdivision, but is far enough from the neighbors to be quiet. The wrap around porch is wonderful for warm evenings- rocking chairs for sitting to enjoy the mountains, and a large dining table. The cottage interior had above average decoration. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware for a vacation rental, but sadly, no dishwasher. Most everything had been thought through to make sure you had what you needed- linens, dishwashing liquid and sponges, washing machine detergent, lots of toilet paper, etc. The fireplace is awesome, and there was a huge stack of firewood by the entry door. The largest bed was way too soft and not very comfortable, but the bedrooms were otherwise well appointed. There are multiple bedrooms, if you have a large group. There are two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs), which is convenient. We did multiple road biking loops from the house, and there are good options for challenging rides. The owners were very easy to deal with, and easily available if needed.
Heaven on Earth

Right from the pictures on the website, I knew that this was the house for our family vacation. After contacting the owner, recieving a quick respons, we were all set to go. I was provided with all info needed. Off we went, upon arrival, our breath was taken away, the pictures are only half as beautiful as the real thing. My 3 children, 2 dogs and my self were greeted with a plate of warm brownies and dog treats a much needed snack after our 3.5 hour car ride. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very inviting. I must say we spent most of our time on the amazing screened in porch enjoying everything the great outdoors had to offer. We felt right at home. All of the beds were extrememly comfortable , even the 2 dog beds. The cabinets were full of all the necessaties to cook just like at home. The game shelf was stocked with entertainment for my kids, and the tv's in each room was a bonus. The location was perfect, off the beaten path but easy to get to and close to anything and everything you might want. I really can not say enough about the cottage, the owners, and our experience. We have been renters for many years, and this by far was our best ever. We can not wait to book our vaction next year.

We really enjoyed our stay at the "Cool Montain Cottage" last week. The evenings were coo, so the fireplace was a treat. The beds are great and the cottage was well equiped including wifi! The mountain view was awesome and the brownies that Julie left when we arrived started the week out right!
