Description from owner

Your dream vacation in the heart of famous Bedoin village in Provence. Stunning views of Mont Ventoux close to famous vineyards Chateau-Neuf du Pape. Walk to village in 2 min to shopping & restaurants; secluded on large quiet estate. House has 4 bedrooms a 7 beds.

Located in the well-known scenic village of Bedoin, Provence. Beautiful views of Mont Ventoux, house is private with 5000 m2 of land with gate and enclosed with parking.

Fully equipped kitchen. House is comfortable and rustic. This is a very relaxing home. We kept it simple yet elegant and functional. Unique little nooks around the place and modern art on the walls.

A perfect place to unwind, relax, enjoy life, & reconnect with yourself. The house definitely has an atmosphere of calm and welcome. A good motto: come to be yourself and use it as your own home.

House is 220m2 with 4 terraces can be used so comfortably for 2 to 10 people. You can use the downstairs which has a separate kitchen, dining room, living and an extra TV room with a mezzanine with 3.5 bathrooms total. Very functional and convenient home.

The backdrop to the house is the stunning views of the mountain with vineyards, cherry orchards, olive groves and fields of lavender providing wonderful walking and cycling from the doorstep. We are surrounded by fields and nestled upon a hill overlooking the village and the famous Mont Ventoux.

We are secluded and private but not isolated as the village is only a 2 minute walk on a trail leading from the house. This is a nature lovers and birdwatchers paradise. All around Bédoin are picturesque Provencal villages, vineyards, restaurants, markets, arts and crafts to discover. The drive to Avignon theater, arts and music festivals takes approx. 35 minutes. Marseille airport is about 1h15 away.

The self-catering house is beautifully decorated and equipped so that you can relax and enjoy your holiday to the fullest. It is set on a beautiful 5000m2 private estate surrounded by nature, woods, oak and pine trees with gorgeous cliffs on the property itself. The pretty trees and multi terraces provide shade for those wonderful summer lunches or dinners and the cliffs light up at night which gives you a spectacular and dramatic setting.

Throughout the year there is a constant change of color and scent as the crops blossom, ripen and are harvested. The clear air and vivid blue skies make it a paradise for painters or photographers. Set, well back from the road, there is ample parking.

There is a market all winter long on Saturdays and Mondays and it is the most well known produce and crafts market in Provence.

You can walk to the village in 3-5 minutes to go shopping and lots of really good restaurants in the village itself. All walking distance through communal path or small road.

Bedoin has the largest mountain in the region. The famous Mont Ventoux where the Tour de France goes I'm not sure every year but it's a dreamland for cycling and nature lovers.

On the first floor is a small very charming bedroom with a double bed. Views of the village church and property to the East. It has its private bathroom.

House has a GREAT fireplace. Kitchen has state of the art German appliances with dishwasher as well. Microwave. Internet and phone available if requested. Kitchen fully equipped. Glasses, plates, silverware, Summer trays and glasses.

There are 4 terraces all together. Lots of sunshine in the morning across the whole downstairs and same in the evening on the other side which is dining room and living room side. There's a stereo and TV room.

There are so many vineyards close by. Lakes and water holes. The ocean is about 1 hour away by car. We're 2 and a half hours from St. Tropez, Cannes and Nice or Italy a little further by freeway. (10 minutes).

Bedoin has the largest mountain in the region. The famous Mont Ventoux, Vaucluse is a cyclist’s paradise. No doubt about it, cycling through the Vaucluse is one of the very best ways to enjoy the contrasting landscapes, the winding country roads, and feel the life and beauty here. Mountain-biking trails abound in the hills and mountains in Vaucluse. Discover all the circuits: for exploring the Côtes du Rhône vineyards, the lavender fields and highlands in the Sault area, the range of hills known as the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Roman presence in Vaison-la-Romaine, the beautiful hilltop villages in the Luberon, the Sorgues area, the Nesque river canyons, …

Mount Ventoux is legendary as one of the most grueling climbs in the Tour de France. It is here that legendary British cyclist Tom Simpson collapsed and died from a lethal cocktail of amphetamines. It is also the one stage Lance Armstrong really wanted to win but never did. The mountain is the biggest in Provence.

The vineyards of the Vaucluse produce some prestigious wines, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueryas, Beaumes de Venise. While most of the wines are red, there are also some white wines, and sweet wines such as Rasteau

About the owner

We are a newly married couple living in California. We love our home in Provence. We spent a lot of time renovating it since 2003. The house belonged to my mother, artist Arlette Oger who passed in 2002. I bought the house in her memory to make it a charming "little palace" in Provence to ...
